u know how people say a character is so character? hockey is SO sport. like more sport than any other sport. effort so effortful that players can only play for 50 seconds at a time? scoring attempts that can kill a person? players moving at 25 mph? time-out corner for the naughty? refs can break their bones? human dart board (goalie)? yeah.. sport

can i say something. i think "the girlies' guide to hockey" type things are so condescending LOL it's giving hockey and heels. grinds my gears. of course i don't think there's anything wrong with being quote unquote girlie but this trend of explaining things to girls and women and the thing that makes it "girlie" is that it's like. pink? equating it to like dating reality shows as if the most avid bachelor watchers i know aren't men?? jlk;fadsjlka;sdf. like aren't we PAST this guys..... it's 2024....... please....... i love to grow the game and i love bringing people in, especially people who traditionally feel excluded in the space! i just do not think the way to do it is to dumb down hockey terms and put them in a cutesy font as if women aren't perfectly capable of understanding hockey without their hands being held LOL
