Jerry Saltz blocked me
EDIT 2: he's a pullitzer prize winning art critic
Is this common? I commented disagreeing on his recent IG post in which he screen recorded like 10 different abex artist process videos, shared them without credit, and called their work "paintsturbatory," and accused the artists of not "being themselves" because their work is too similar to the greats of the 70s. He also said that if you don't innovate, then you're "disrespecting art."
Does he delete and block commenters who disagree often? I mostly disagreed with the sentiment about innovation and not being yourself. For full transparency, I did also point out that a lot of the comments were from other abex painters agreeing with him, even though their work looks very similar to the stuff he shared. (Keyword similar)
I also did say that I found his post to be masturbatory in of itself, that may have also crossed a line.
Edit: I'm new to the "art world," I'm an artist myself and I mostly think the art world is a load of BS (meaning the market/critics/systems in place. Not saying the art within it is BS, although there are definitely some BS artists haha)
