I really wish the relationship between jin cho yeon and naksu would be explored more…there was a prime time this episode to let them have a heart to heart about naksu’s imprisonment and jin cho yeon’s guilt about that….but they just ignore it and the only time they talk is when jin cho yeon is telling naksu that jang uk won’t come for her :( can they PLEASE have a conversion about other things. Let them have a weird sisterly relationship so it can be extra interesting when both she and and jin cho yeong find out she is naksu and that she killed her father

Park jin has so much to answer for, he’s like a well intentioned villain at this point? he almost let jang uk die instead of opening his gate of energy, he put every possible obstacle in the way of uk’s training and in the latest episode and in the first season, he always reveals the most difficult truths about jang uk’s past in ways that most devastate him. And for what?? Why tell him that naksu’s entire tragic life is his fault (indirectly)?? What purpose does that serve?? He’s already heartbroken and wants to die, how is that going to help?

Also I was rewatching the first season during the master Kang soul shifting arc and there’s a scene where seo yul is talking with park jin after catching the soul shifter and park jin insists that soul shifters are irredeemable monsters that can never be saved. And seo yul suggests they could use the ice stone to save them and park jin says humans aren’t allowed to use that kind of power. I feel like these principles were drilled into seo yul during his training and it leads to his internal conflict and angst over naksu. Why does he dream about stabbing naksu?? Why does he feel like it’s his responsibility to kill her once he finds out who she is? It’s because of the overly simplified, black and white lectures he’s heard about soul shifters from Park jin. I genuinely think park Jin’s poor leadership and lack of forethought and nuanced thinking when it comes to dealing with soul shifters and the ice stone is why the villains are always running circles around songrim.

nothing would satisfy me more than if yeong remembered everything and wanted to become naksu one last time, and her and janguk fight back to back and jang uk hurts jinmu up pretty well and she gets to have the last blow, but ofc i wont get anything I wish for
