Ya know when people told me "when you're finally safe enough that you can leave survival mode and start to let go of and process your c-ptsd/trauma things are probably going to get really, really bad before they slowly start to get better" I thought that was reasonable. I did not understand that by "things are going to get bad" they meant "you're going to find yourself in the worst mental state of your entire life, but dw, that means it's working" and tbh I simply wish someone had been more clear.

People who get so heated about the toshiro-laois fight that they think toshiro genuinely hates laois are incredibly silly to me like. yes laois gets on his nerves and the fight came about because toshiro let a lot of annoyance simmer for a LONG time instead of expressing his feelings but once that tension resolves through their stupid fight he is able to see more clearly and realise he does not HATE laois, he ENVIES him. It just seems like such a blatantly obvious part of his character that people just can't grasp for some reason?? You don't hate someone and then talk to them about your unsaid feeling for his sister and give him a bell to ring if he needs you. You can dislike whatever characters you want but I can't stand when people mischaracterise characters to such a huge extent. Learn some basic media literacy.

Thinking abt the DC animated show that only exists in my dreams. As in my literal dreams. It's circa Justice League Unlimited.

It starts off with this hero who blacks out and when he comes to, several heroes and vigilantes and villains are dead at his hand and he does not remember any of it. He's understandably horrified, and promptly arrested. But instead of following this aftermath, it then cuts to a few years later where it's been proven he was under some sort of mind control when it occured, and no other episode has happened to him since. He is allowed to work with the Justice League again so they can keep an eye on him, but is strictly forbidden from directly being involved in any sort of hero/vigilante work.

So the show follows him training young vigilantes and heroes, looking out for descendants and relatives of supervillains who aren't given a chance simply because of who their family is, and even helping out reformed villains.

All the while we slowly get bits and pieces of information as he desperately tries to understand what happened to him when he committed those murders, and the heroes who witnessed it walk in eggshells around him. Even those that understand it wasn't his fault can't help the anger and pain because it was his face who killed their friends.

More random tropes that I fucking love: Becoming the mask you wore.

Like oh shit, this character who was sent to spy somewhere under a false identity suddenly realises they've started to genuinely become the person they claimed to be? Someone who's been telling the same lies about who they are for so long that they're actually forgetting that the story isn't true? Finding themselves genuinely doing the things they pretend to do in front of people, when they're alone and nobody's watching? Answering to a name that wasn't supposed to be theirs without thinking?

Ooohh-hoh-hoh, you lost track of yourself in pretending to be someone else? You were only supposed to impersonate somebody, a plausible background and a name you came up with on the spot, and now that the people you were supposed to infiltrate have become your true companions? You lost yourself in the game you played, and no you no longer know who you truly are, and where your true loyalties lie? And both sides would mark you a traitor if you came out with the truth. On a scale of one to ten, how bad did you fuck up.

Fuck that is a good trope. Never seen it done badly. Pour that shit on a table and I'll chop it into lines and snort it.
