Roman mosaic, the shell, at the Verulamium Museum. St. Albans, Hertfordshire, England.
Verulamium was a Roman settlement conquered by the Romans during their invasion of Britain in 43 AD. Burned to the ground during the Boudica Revolt in 61 AD, the Romans rebuilt it. Verulamium became one of the largest and most prosperous cities in the province of Britannia.

This beautiful Roman enamelled copper alloy flask in hexagonal shape was found in Welzheim at the Limes, the Roman frontier. The small vessel was a product of a workshop in Britain or Gaul and was presumably used to hold perfume.

The Demna Baptistry - 6th century AD - in the Bardo Museum. This early Christian baptismal font is richly decorated with mosaics discovered in Demna. It is one of the finest Christian mosaics to have been found in Africa, and even throughout the Roman world.
