I've been seeing a few posts on the royalteeth tag about queenie being a supportive wife for Kinger being gay, even after her abstraction. So just for this fic, I'll set aside my chess siblings headcanon for this.
I just want to say real quick, I support both Royalteeth and Checkmate. Do not attack me, this exception will probably only happen once.
Fic is under the cut!
Caine clacked a few keys on his keyboard, finishing a new line of code. Bubble dragged a wooden door onto the stage using his teeth, leaving deep marks in the wood. The members of the circus watched with curiosity.
After Caine finished the code and a moment of silence, Jax finally spoke up.
"Alright, what's going on, Caine? What's with the door?"
"I'm glad you asked!" Caine lifted his cane from the ground beside the door and tapped it 5 times on the ground. A breeze passed through the circus, sending shivers down everyone's spines. "I recently finished a line of code giving our wonderful friends a newer form! Only temporarily... But we can communicate with them again!"
" 'Wonderful friends?' Who are you-" Ragatha started her sentence, only to pause in shock as the door was opened.
A wispy silhouette emerged from the doorway, resembling an old friend of the members: Boris, an abstracted member who went insane before Zooble joined. Everyone stared in shock.
"Hello, Boris! It's great to see you again!" Caine waved hello to the canine ghost, and was greeted back with a snarl of annoyance. Caine merely chuckled. "Still the same old Boris!"
"BOOORIS!!" Gangle cried, running towards the wisp. Thankfully, she crashed right into him, confirming everyone's hopes that they could hug their old friends. More abstracted characters returned to the circus in wispy ghost forms. The last one to return was... Queenie.
Kinger hadn't even noticed her presence, as he was more focused on his boyfriend enjoying the positivity. Though he noticed when she tapped his shoulder solemnly.
"Ah! Queenie, my-" He paused his words. She stared at him patiently. He glanced at Caine before continuing. "My dear... It's been so long."
"I know, dear. I'm overjoyed to see you again." She grabbed Kinger's hands and held them tight with love. Kinger chuckled awkwardly. She rubbed his hand with her thumb, as she used to when she wasn't a large eye-covered beast. Caine watched the interaction awkwardly, afraid to say anything.
"Queenie, dearest..." Kinger began, pulling his hands out of her grip. She blinked in confusion. "I have something to tell you."
"Oh? Please, go right ahead, love!" She curled her own hands together. Jax heard her words and chuckled awkwardly, wanting to watch a potential fight but didn't want to be thrown into his room. Caine gripped his baton.
"Well- You see, um-"
"Oh, Caine! There you are darlin'!" Queenie waved to ringleader, startling Caine and having him drop his baton. "Oh, dear, you dropped your baton!" She wasted no time in climbing the stage and helping him out, ignoring his stuttering. Kinger discreetly took the ringleaders hand as Queenie lifted the baton from the ground.
"Here you go, dear. Be careful next time!" Queenie cheerfully handed the baton to Caine, who simply responded with a shy nod. Queenie then turned back to Kinger. "Now, what was it you wanted to tell me?"
"Um..." Kinger gripped Caine's hand. Queenies eyes drifted towards where their hands joined and gasped, surprised. Kinger immediately jumped to explain. "Now I swear I can explain this, Queenie-"
"Oh Caine, you're making my old boy happy!" She said excitedly, clapping her hands together. The ringleader blinked in confusion at the stranger reaction. Kinger looked just as confused. "Uh, Queenie-"
"Don't worry about me, Kinger, darlin'! I'm 100% okay with you dating this old gentleman!" She flicked her hand at Kinger, waving away his concerns. He sighed in relief. "Oh, thank god..."
"Kinger, I don't understand why you'd be so concerned. I've always been supportive of our little queer friends! Don't you remember when Boris and Jax had a little affair?"
"QUEENIE!" Jax shouted in embarrassment, stomping his foot. Quiet giggles erupted from the other members.
Queenie took the two lovers hands, squeezing them tight. "I support you both in your little love endeavors. Don't worry about me getting jealous; I half-expected this anyway."
"Oh. Well in that case..." Caine grinned at Kinger, placing one hand to his face. Kinger blinked in the confusion before being bombarded with kisses. "AH, NOT HERE!" Both of them laughed. Queenie watched with excitement. "Ah, to rekindle a broken heart. Truly a sight." She sighed happily.
~
As time passed, and the adventure came to a close, the ghosts soon waved goodbye as they passed through the wooden door. Queenie was last to leave, waving goodbye to the couple as she grinned. "Treat him right, Caine!" She said finally before the door shut, closing the barrier between the digital and the abstracted.
Caine floated closer to Kinger shyly. "Soo... Would she have any objections to marriage?" He muttered quietly, but loud enough for him to hear. Instead of yelping in surprise at the idea, Kinger chuckled.
"I think she'd be estatic. Maybe we could invite her to the wedding."

Droppin back in with more reqs, but I’m not anonymous this time!!
Caine decides a nice adventure for the cast would be a picnic! But, being the gay little man he is, he can’t help but sneak off to enjoy his own little picnic with longer halfway through.
Jax most likely starts somethin, and bubble idk exactly a competent replacement..
Hey Cinnastix! Thanks for dropping by!
And that is a real good idea! Bubble boatta eat all the food lmao
Fic is under the cut!
Caine and Pomni began to lay a plaid cloth onto the green grass outside, excited for today's adventure.
Gangle had excitedly suggested that the crew had a picnic, and Caine, seeing an oppurtunity to get closer to Kinger, happily agreed! Ragatha rummaged through the basket Caine spawned, making sure all the food was intact(and edible). Jax leaned on a tree, attempting to eat the leaves out of boredom.
Meanwhile, Kinger gaped at the many bugs around the lake, his own picnic cloth sitting by a bush.
As they finished setting up the picnic, everyone sat down for food. Ragatha laid down sandwiches and biscuits for everyone. Jax snatched one and returned to the tree.
"Thanks for letting us have a chill day, Caine. We really needed it." Pomni took a bite from her biscuit. Caine pulled up a thumbs up before turning to see Kinger sitting alone by the lake. Feeling bad for him, he floated away from the group and towards Kinger.
"The lake has no fishes... Where did the fish go?" Kinger muttered to himself, staring blankly at the water. He didn't even notice Caine's heels crush the grass next to him.
"Kinger? Is everything okay?" Caine leaned onto his shoulder. Kinger turned to look at him, snapping out of his daze.
"Oh, I'm quite alright, mantis." Caine chuckled at the nickname. Sometimes Kinger called him bug names as endearment, and Caine loved it just as much. "Well, how are you feeling today, love?" Caine sat down next to the chess piece.
Kinger sighed lovingly, placing his hand atop Caines gums. "I'm doing well, butterfly." Caine stared into his diamond blue eyes. Kinger stared back. They both erupted into laughter.
"Oh, I love your eyes, my liege." Caine teased, raising his hand towards Kingers. "Aw, don't flatter me-"
"CAINE! BUBBLE'S EATING THE BISCUITS AND JAX HAS A CENTPIEDE!!" Ragatha exclaimed from the picnic. Caine burst up from Kingers lap, surprised and then concerned. "Oh boy... Why do I even have Bubble?"
"Do you need help with Jax while you have Bubble?" Kinger offered as he stood up. Caine nodded as he stood up too, ready for anything.

kinger and caine being silly and trying to figure out how to kiss? :3
Oh you sweet, innocent anon
You get a cookie 🍪
Maybe I'll make this fic be the one where the other members find out the old men are gay...
Fic is under the cut!
Caine fiddled with the curtains on the stage as everyone else chatted away. Kinger stared at the ringleader from afar, paying no attention to Jax's rambles. He seemed... Concerned. Jax snapped his fingers.
"Hey, old man, eyes over here." Kinger turned back to Jax, confused. "Wha- Huh?"
"Why are you staring at Caine?" He asked, pointing to the ringleader. Kinger stumbled over his words. "Uh- Well-"
"Do you want to punt him?"
"What, no-"
"Go ahead, man. Maybe we can get the others to watch."
Kinger stammered as Jax turned him around and pushed him towards the ringleader. And this action had gathered the attention of everyone else, sparking muttering among the clusters.
When Kinger was behind Caine completely, Jax let go of his cloak and retreated, encouraging him to kick the ringleader.
Zooble glared at Jax in annoyance. "What are you doing, Jax?"
"Getting Kinger to punt dentures over there."
Rather than kicking the poor ringleader, Kinger pondered over what he should do. Maybe a kiss? No, everyone was watching. But he can't just kick him, he liked him too much. Caine finished rustling the curtains in front of him, which only caused more panic to the chess piece behind him.
He looked back to Jax, who nodded in encouragement. Looking back to the ringleader, he sighed deeply. Caine noticed Kinger behind him, and turned excitedly.
"Hello, Kinger! Do you need something-" Kinger gripped his shoulders and lifted him up to eye level. Caine stammered. Jax chuckled.
"I am very sorry for this." Kinger muttered anxiously.
"Sorry for what-" He shut his teeth as Kinger pulled him in for a kiss, causing gasps to erupt from the others.
"Wha- I SAID PUNT, NOT KISS- OW!!" Zooble smacked Jax in the back of the head, silencing him. Gangle squealed excitedly. Pomni stared in confusion. Ragatha smiled in support.
When the two finally pulled away, Caine stared in surprise. Kinger set him down and backed up. "... Oh."
"Sorry." Kinger attempted to retreat, but stopped when Caine took his hand lovingly. "It's okay, love." He said softly. Kinger brightened.
"Well that failed..." Jax grumbled. Caine turned to the rabbit and glared. Jax stopped his muttering, and Caine returned to Kinger. "Why don't we leave here? Is the pillowfort cleaned up?
"Oh, yeah! Let's go." The two jumped from the stage and walked away, joined hand in hand.

More angst people.
You knew it was going to happen.
Fic is under the cut.
Caine walked happily down the bedroom hall, approaching Kingers room when he was interrupted by Zooble.
"Hey Caine. If you wanna talk to Kinger, you'll have to do it later. He's not feeling great."
"Really? What's wrong?"
"Not sure. He hasn't left his room at all today." Zooble shrugged it off as a mere illness, however Caine expressed concern. Luckily, he didn't need to walk any further, as Kingers door was just ahead of him.
He knocked on the door excitedly. Upon recieving no answer, he knocked again, talking softly. "Kinger? Are you in there, love?" Still recieving no answer, he sighed deeply, reaching into his pocket. Pulling out a key, he began to unlock the door, but was prevented from opening the door.
"Kinger? Kinger, is everything okay?" He pushed on the door, forcing it open. Then he stared in horror and fear at his lover.
Kinger was on the verge of abstraction, his hands and cloak being infected with the black goop. He dared not look at the terrified ringleader, tears falling from his eyes.
"Kinger? Kinger, oh my god..." Caine slowly approached him, tears gathering in his eyes. "Don't get any closer! It's not safe!" Kinger backed away, inching closer to the wall. The black goop, now covered in colorful eyes, spread higher up his cloak. His hands became claws, more eyes appearing on the palms. "I'm a monster..." He shivered, curling into a ball.
Caine lunged at him, holding back his tears. His own body began to glitch as he wrapped his arms around Kinger. Kinger tried to pull away, but Caine held tight. "Caine, what're you doing!?"
"I don't want to lose you!" He sobbed into Kingers cloak, gripping tight. Kinger looked down at the ringleader, hesitant to hold him. But eventually, he caved, and placed one of his claws onto Caines back gently. The goop spread up the cloak and onto his cross on his head.
"Caine..." He uttered quietly, his voice breaking. Caine looked up at him with solemn eyes. Kinger held him closer. "I love you, Caine." The goop finally covered his entire body, the eyes all staring at the saddened ringleader.

Caine looked around, curious. Pomni approached him hesitantly. "Hey, Caine?" Caine turned quickly. His eyes had a hint of fear. "Yes, Pomni? What do you need?" Pomni tugged at her hat slightly. "Well, uh... I was just wondering if-" "Wait, where's Kinger?" Jax inquired, scratching his ear. Caine gripped his cane tighter. Gangle noticed, and approached Caine. "Why don't we look for him?" "Great idea, Gangle! We can't have an adventure without him!"
The search was uneventful. Hours had passed, and the clock was about to strike 10. The moon was high in the sky, and the cast had grown tired. "We can't give up yet! We haven't found him yet!" Caine waved his hands hurriedly. Zooble groaned. "We can keep looking tomorrow, Caine. We're tired." "But-" "Goodnight, Caine." The cast retreated to their bedrooms, leaving Caine alone with his anxiety. "Where could he have gone?" He muttered to himself. Upon looking around again, he saw that the front curtains, leading outside of the tent, were parted slightly. Caine brightened. He then flew through the curtains, still searching.
"Kinger? Kinger??" He called out into the fields. He lowered onto the grass and began to walk, approaching the hill near the river. "Where is he?" He gripped his cane tighter, anxious. Upon looking up atop the hill, he saw the faint silhouette of Kinger. "Kinger!" He ran up the hill, losing his hat and dropping his cane.
Upon reaching the top, he panted from exhaustion. Kinger turned to face him. "Caine! Are you okay?" "Hah... Yeah! Everything is fine!" He coughed, collapsing onto the grass. "Are you sure? You sound exhausted!" He rubbed Caine's back gently. Caine sat up, sighing. "We've been looking for you all day, Kinger." "Oh! I forgot to tell you about that. Sorry..." "You're fine!" Caine leaned onto his shoulder, shutting his eyes. Kinger looked up at the stars, pulling Caine closer. "I was planning on going back inside after 5 minutes... But I think I should go now." He stood up, lifting Caine. "Get rest. I'll carry you back." Kinger began to descend the hill, Caine still in his arms.

Good morning, gays, gals and goblins! Are you ready for some ANGST?
No? Too bad, you're getting it.
Wonderland AU by @obamerzslop, fic is under the cut!
Everyone had fled the castle in a panic.
Queenie, Kingers imprisoned sister, brandished her sword. Kinger backed up in fear, his cloak dragging on the carpeted floor. Caine had ran behind a pillar nearby, and was watching from afar the chaos that was unfolding.
"So, we meet again, dear brother!" Queenie waved around her sword. Kinger backed up further, his eyes wide with fear. Queenie stepped closer. "Are you not going to give your sister a hug, Kinger?" She snarled, swinging her sword. The blade cut through the carpet, revealing the dark, oak wood underneath it. Kinger shivered.
"You're not supposed to be here..." He mustered, lifting an abandoned sword from the ground. Caine watched with fear as he lifted the sword. "Oh, you're looking to fight me, huh?" Queenie raised the blade, pointing it at Kinger. He brandished his own sword in fear, his hands shaking violently. The sword couldn't keep straight.
"You want to fight me, and yet you can't hold a sword properly." Caine frowned, obviously disagreeing. But he dared not say anything.
Until she charged.
Queenie began to run towards Kinger, pointing the blade at Kingers stomach. Caine watched in horror as she got closer and closer, and Kinger couldn't run away.
In a moment of pure courage and stupidity, Caine ran to Kinger, shoving him out of the way.
A horrific squelch sounds, and Caine spits blood.
"CAINE!" Kinger exclaims, reaching for the hatter. Queenie backed away in surprise, leaving the sword embedded in Caines heart.
Caine coughed again, blood flooding his mouth. Kinger stood up and caught Caine before he fell, letting blood drip onto his silk cloak. Queenie fled the castle, running past the couple. "YOU BITCH! I'LL KILL YOU!" Kinger screamed, glaring daggers at his sister as she ran. When she had finally left the castle, he turned back to the hatter, bleeding out on his lap.
"Caine, don't do this to me!" He exclaimed, gripping Caines arms tight. "Please, don't do this!" He sobbed violently, trying to hug the hatter without shifting the sword.
Caine coughed again, raising a shaky hand toward the sword. Upon grabbing it, he lifted it slightly, and a burst of confetti came from his suit. Kinger stared in horror.
"Look, Kinger... Confetti!..." He shivered, dropping the sword, letting it sink back into his chest. Kinger sobbed harder, slouching. Caine drew a shaky breath. "Don't do this to me! Stay with me, stay with me!!" He yelled, gripping tighter. Caine smiled widely, his teeth slightly stained with blood. He raised a shaky hand to Kinger's cheek.
The sobbing stopped, reducing to quiet sniffles. They locked eyes, even if only for a moment. Then the hand fell, Caine drawing his last breath. Kinger sobbed again, bringing his lovers lifeless body closer to him.

THE GAYS ARE GETTING MARRIED!! Sort of!
This idea is not mine, and instead goes to @cinnamon-stixs! Go check out her art, it's awesome!
Fic is under the cut!
Kinger and Caine sat in the pillow fort, laughing the night away.
Kinger invited Caine into the pillow fort for a "special reason," and Caine willingly accepted, happy to be around his lover. But the special reason was yet to be mentioned, and it intrigued Caine greatly.
"My dear Kinger," Caine began, gently taking one of Kingers hands. Kinger tilted his head curiously. "You invited me here for a 'special reason,' could you please elaborate?"
"Oh! Right, of course!" Kinger reached into his coat and pulled out a small, wooden box. Caines eyes lit up. "We've been together for, what, 3 months? And I think I'm ready to move forward with our relationship."
"W-Whatever do you mean, love?" Caine crossed his legs anxiously as he watched Kinger open the box slowly. "I know we can't do an actual ceremony, but I think a ring is enough."
"You mean-" Caines eyes widened.
"Yes." Kinger held up one of Caines hands and slid a tiny ring onto his finger. Caines teeth shut in embarrassment. Kinger pulled him closer and planted a kiss onto his head, still holding his hand. "Will you stay with me, love?" He asked softly.
Caine looked up at him with joyful tears.
"Till death do we part."

Oh boy, that was quite a break. School sucks, huh?
Anyway, here's a fic for the wonderful wonderland au by, you guessed it, @obamerzslop! let's get into it! This one's a long one!
Fic is under the cut!
Caine let out a hearty laugh as he adjusted his coat. "Oh, your highness, your humor cannot be beat!" He chuckled, pulling a deck of cards from his pockets. "Now, if I could show you a trick-"
"Not so fast, jester." A strangers voice rang out behind Caine. Kinger looked to the doors of his castle, and promptly frowned. "Great, he's here for his favor." Caine turned around, and saw Jax, the prankster cheshire, standing right behind him.
"Oh, hello Jax! It's good to see you!" Caine explained happily, joining his hands together. "Good to see you too." Jax walked straight past Caine and right up to Kinger's throne, not even bowing before ascending the stairs. Ragatha, who was positioned next to Kinger, felt a lump in her throat.
"What do you want, cheshire." Kinger clenched his fist. Jax simply chuckled. "There's no need for a fight, your majesty. I'm just here for that..." He grinned, slowing his tone. "... Favor you owe me."
"Favor? What favor??" Caine tilted his head in confusion. Jax spun on his heel and approached the hatter. Caine backed away slightly. "Jax, what favor do you speak of?"
"Oh, just a game. I helped his majesty find a special belonging, and in return, he'll do something for me."
"That's never good..." Ragatha muttered underneath her breath. Kinger slammed his fist on the armrest of his throne. "Spit out your request or your favor will be denied, cheshire."
"Alright, alright." Jax turned once again to face the royal. "My favor is very simple, your highness, for it is a child's game."
"And this game is?" The royal glared at the cheshire, clearly displeased. Caine swallowed nervously. Jax raised his hands high, as if he were an announcer. "Hide and seek!"
Kinger stared in confusion. "... You did say it was a child's game... But why this one in particular?"
"That doesn't matter in the slightest. I'll go ahead and be the seeker. Better find a hiding spot!" Jax turned to a wall and began to count, causing sheer panic to everyone in the room.
Ragatha ran to the kitchens, servants dashed for the balconies, and janitors hid behind curtains. Kinger looked around in quiet panic, unsure of where to go. Suddenly, he felt Caines hand grab his and drag him to a closet, where they both hid quietly.
"Wha- Why a closet of all places?!" He squirmed anxiously. The closet was not very large, but it fit them both just fine. Caine slowly took off his hat and tossed it outside. "Firstly, closets are an easy spot that no one ever checks. Secondly, my hat will distract Jax. Maybe send him someplace else."
Kinger gripped his cloak nervously. He had never been in such close quarters with the hatter before. And the fact that he had to stay there for the rest of the game, at least until they were found-
It made his heart flutter.
"Okay, the coast is clear! This is really fun, don't you agree!" Caine turned to the royal, only to see him hide his reddened face. "What's wrong, your majesty? Are you sick?" Kinger remained silent. Caine tilted his head, weighing his options.
Out of curiosity, he pushed his luck and crawled closer. Slowly pulling a hand from the king's face, he asked again, "Are you okay, my liege?"
They locked eyes for a moment, Caine seeing Kingers terrified and embarrassed state, Kinger seeing Caines curious and worried eyes. "My lord..." Caine uttered quietly with no intention. Kinger felt warmer at the title. He's used to being called these fancy names, why is it so different from him?
Footsteps could be heard outside the closet. Caine lost his balance(he was on his hands and knees) and fell into Kingers robe. "Ack!-" A gloved hand slammed over Caines mouth in a panic, silencing him. Kinger held the hatter close, hushing him as he stared at the doors.
Caines face felt warm. He had never realized how soft the king's robe was. Being this close to the King was strange, too. He felt warm- safe.
When the footsteps finally faded, Kingers hand left Caines face. "Phew... This is quite a stressful game. Caine?" He looked down at the hatter, who had completely buried himself in his robe. Kinger's eyes lit up.
"... Ah, uh. This is awkward." Caine lifted himself from Kingers chest and backed away, fixing his coat. "You're fine, hatter. When does this game end?"
"I'm not sure. Of course, you can always end the game..."
"What game?" Gangle Dee's soft voice rang from outside the closet, startling them both. Kinger opened the doors and saw the twin masks, Dee and Dum, standing outside.
"... How long have you two been standing there?" Caine gripped his shirt. Dum stuffed her pockets full of sweets. "We've been here for 5 minutes. The castle doors had a note tacked to it that said the King was dead and the castle was for sale."
"That damn cat!" Kinger punched the walls of the closet. He immediately got up, called his guards and demanded that they usher every civilian out of the castle. With a sigh, he turned back to the twins. "Thank you for telling me of the note, twins. Do you want a reward?"
"Uhm..." Dee wringed her hands nervously. Dum waved them excitedly. "Can we get some boxes of fabric? We wanna try making dresses!!" Caine quietly left the closet. Kinger smiled and nodded. "Yay!!" The twins cheered and ran away, skipping and singing their hearts out.
"... I apologize for the embarrassment, your highness." Caine uttered quietly as he lifted his hat from the ground. Kinger shook his head in denial. "You've no need to apologize, Caine. It's my fault this happened, I owed that cheshire the favor. This will never happen again."
"Hah, right you are, your highness! Right..." Caine looked down at the ground nervously.
He may not feel that safe again.

More canon royalteeth fics, woo!
Also a good time to share a headcanon: Caine has separation anxiety :D
Fic is under the cut!
Caine and Kinger sat on the stage alone, talking.
It was early in the morning, and Kinger couldn't sleep, so Caine had the idea of talking to him to ease his nerves. This, of course, worked, but it only drew Caine closer to him.
Kinger chuckled at a joke Caine cracked. "Heh heh... Thank you for staying with me here. Insomnia is a real jerk, huh?"
"I suppose so!" Caine smiled, glad that his method worked. It soon faded when Kinger stood up. "I suppose I should head back then. I'm pretty tired." He jumped off the stage and walked away, but was stopped. When he turned, he found Caine gripping his cloak.
"It's not that late, y'know... It's only 1 am..."
"All the more reason I should head to bed. The earlier the better." Caine tugged lightly. His head was dipped downward. Kinger's brow furrowed in worry. "What's wrong, Caine?"
"..." He remained silent, still holding onto his cloak. Kinger soon realized his arms were shaking vigorously. He immediately turned and crouched in front of Caine, grabbing his arms. "Hey, what's wrong? Are you cold?"
He didn't answer still, his head still dipped. Kinger pulled him closer in hopes of comfort. He then felt something drip onto his shoulder. Then he heard sobs.
Caine was crying. He didn't want him to leave. That's why he held on. Kinger rubbed his back.
"Oh, Caine... Will you miss me that bad?" He felt a nod. His cloak quickly became soaked with tears. "It's okay, dear, I won't leave. I'm just going to bed, okay?" Kinger pulled away from the hug, looking Caine in the eyes. Caine nodded, wiping his eyes. "Okay..." He muttered, shutting his teeth.
"Y'know... If it makes you feel better, you can rest with me." Kinger stood up and held out his hand. Caine stared at it for a moment before taking it slowly. Kinger's eyes lit up, and they walked back to bed.

I had an epiphany, and decided to write a part 2 to the previous fic I posted
So uh
Fic is under the cut
Kinger blinked his eyes, and snapped back from his daze.
Upon looking around, he found himself back with everyone else, Jax and Pomni, Ragatha and Gangle, Zooble and Caine.
Had he been dreaming? Did he suddenly fall asleep and dream about his first day? Or had he zoned out again in the middle of the adventure? It was hard to tell.
"Hey Kinger?" Gangles soft voice rang from across the room. Kinger turned to her curiously. "W-What is it, Gangle?"
"Are you sure you're okay with Jax rummaging through your pillow fort?"
"He's what?!" Kinger yelled, throwing his hands into his face. Jax soon ran to the stage, gripping a moldy pillow. "HEY GUYS, GUESS WHAT I FOUND!" He yelled, manifesting a speakerphone from his pockets. Ragatha and Zooble stared curiously, forgetting what Jax had done moments ago. Pomni bit her gloves and Gangle knotted her hands.
Kinger slowly climbed into the stage, his hands shaking. "It kinda looks like a beetle, to be honest! Jeez, your obsession with bugs is getting out of hand-" Jax stopped short, wincing as Kinger gripped his arm. "Give that back."
Caine flew in to intervene, but stopped short as well. "Why should I, old man? What's so special about this damn pillow?" Jax tossed the beetle pillow behind him, popping Bubble in the process. "It's just a pillow, you crazy old man!"
"I'll show you who's crazy if you keep acting like this, young man." Kinger snapped, gripping tighter. Jax yelped in pain. Caine immediately pulled Kinger away, anxiously muttering to himself all the while.
"Let's not do that, sir! Violence is not the answer in the Amazing Digital Circus, and any arguments should be reported to me."
"It's not like you tried to step in before it got intense, [#@$!]hole." Jax rubbed his arm, a bruise now present where Kinger had held his arm.
"Well, I was considering letting Kinger go at you, but it's not good for the viewcount." Caine retrieved the pillow and returned it to Kinger without another word. "Thank you." Kinger then left for his room.
"God, what's so special about that pillow?" Jax pondered, still rubbing. Caine calmly flew to him. "The beetle is very special to him, I heard him say once he'd kill to keep it safe." Then he disappeared.

Yet another TADC fic, and right before the new year!
There is no au, just good old canon royalteeth! Let's jump back for a moment, when Kinger first arrived...
Fic is under the cut!
The circus was bare and empty. It's only inhabitant: The Ringleader and his assistant.
Caine paced around the stage anxiously, talking to himself. Bubble merely floated above him, watching him pace.
"Hey boss, why are you so nervous?" Bubble asked curiously, flying down. Caine stopped pacing and crossed his arms. "Well, I'm worried all of my work to accommodate people will go to waste! If no one joins the circus, then what will we do?"
"We could trash the place! Making a mess is always fun!" Bubble let their tongue flop from their mouth. Caine stepped back in mild disgust. "I'd rather not make a mess." He went back to pacing, only to be interrupted by Bubble once more.
"What if we played games? Games are super cool, and they'll keep us entertained!"
"Any game with you would go terribly."
"Well you could have been gentler- Hey look!" Bubble grinned widely. Caine turned his head to the walls, seeing a confused chess piece shake in fear.
Caine, now properly encouraged, jumped down from the stage and ran to the stranger. "Hello there, human! Welcome to the Amazing Digital Circus! My name is Caine!" Bubble followed suit.
The stranger, who wore a purple robe adorned with soft, white fluff, started at Caine with large blue eyes. "Wha-Where am I? Who are you?"
"I just said that-"
"How do I get out of here? What is this place?!" The stranger fell to his knees, suddenly sobbing his eyes out. Bubble took the chance to slide out until they were called, leaving Caine alone with a bawling stranger.
"Um, uh... There there?" Caine stiffly patted the stranger, unsure of what to do. "D-Don't cry, sir! I can assure you, you'll be okay here in the circus!" The sobbing didn't stop. Caine rubbed his sleeve nervously. In a moment of confusion, Caine removed his hat and pulled out a random object, which just so happened to be a beetle pillow, and handed it to the stranger. "There you go, sir! Will that make you feel better?"
Surprisingly, the sobbing stopped.
The stranger stared at the pillow in confusion, then contentment as he held it close. "Thank you." He muttered. Caine lit up. "Well, you're welcome, stranger! Now, what's your name?"
"My name? It's, uh... Um..." The stranger gripped the pillow. Caine jumped to give him a name. "Why don't I just call you Kinger! It fits your new body!"
"It does? Am I a chess piece?" Upon looking down at the reflective floor, he saw the wooden cross upon his head. Caine sat down next to him eagerly. Kinger leaned against the wall. "Oh boy... How long am I going to be here?"
Caine crossed his arms nervously. "Is forever a good answer?" Kinger turned to him in surprise, but relaxed. "Well... Maybe I'll be okay if you're here."
Caine brightened at the words like a lightbulb. "You mean it? Oh boy, I've got a friend!" He kicked his legs excitedly. Kinger chuckled softly, watching with tired eyes. "Maybe this place won't be so bad."

Yet another royalteeth fic
The au this time is the wonderland au by @obamerzslop! Let's have a look into how these goobers met.
Fic is under the cut!
Chattering filled the halls of the court. Kinger, in his red robe adorned with fluff, sat on an elevated stool high above the floor and the jury's seats. The current case today was about a burglary in the royal bakery, and it was to be settled if the current suspect was guilty or not. The jury had a feeling the latter would be chosen, considering the king's decisions in previous cases.
But something caught his royal eye: A witness to the event.
A magician was escorted into the court and to his pedestal where he would state his views of the event, but he was soaking wet. The rain outside the castle was especially pouring this particular night. Kinger couldn't help but feel something for the stranger. This only intensified when the stranger took off his coat.
After a grueling 10 minutes of chatter, the suspect was brought into the court and the jury fell silent. The King banged his hammer.
"State your name and age, suspect." He demanded, setting down his wooden hammer. The suspect stammered, "M-My name is Ruby Vilos, I'm 24 years old."
"Are you aware of why you are here in the royal court, Ruby?"
"N-No, not really. The guards told me about a robbery of some sort..."
The King clenched his fists in frustration. "You were accused of robbing the royal bakery behind the castle, Ruby Vilos." The suspect gasped and leaned forward in denial. "Your highness, I would never do such a thing!" She was pulled back by a guard.
Kinger looked at the witness, turning to him sharply. "You. State your name and age, stranger." The witnesses shoulders jumped, but relaxed immediately after. With a bow, he introduced himself. "My name is Caine Dante, and I'm 43!" The King felt honored by the polite gesture.
"You are aware you are a witness, correct?"
"Yes sirree, your highness! Though I don't think it was her in particular."
Kinger tilted his head curiously. "And why do you think that?" Caine examined Ruby closely from his pedestal. "Well, I remember the burglar wearing a striped pink and purple suit, and his ears were very long and strange."
Kinger sighed in disappointment, lifting his hammer. "That's all I need, really. Case dismissed." He banged the hammer. Ruby was set free of her shackles and escorted out of the castle, and Kinger commanded the guards to find the robber, who he named as "Cheshire Jax".
Caine approached the King, though hesitantly. "Could I ask who this cheshire is, your majesty?" The King jumped at the sudden question, but relaxed. "Oh, just a trickster. He pulls these so-called 'pranks' all of the time and it's pissing me off."
"Oh! Could I cheer you up with a trick, your majesty?"
"Sure, whatever."
Caine then proceeded to pull off his hat, flip it over, and reach his hand inside, rummaging for something. Kinger stared curiously. Caine grinned widely and pulled out a small white rabbit from the hat, surprising the King. He then handed him the rabbit.
"Wha... How?" Kinger stared at the rabbit in his arms. Caine giggled. "A magician never shares his secrets!" He began to walk away with the grin still present, but was suddenly pulled back and pinned to the wall by Kingers strong grip. His heart fluttered.
"If you are not to become my jester, I will have you beheaded." Kinger crouched to the magician's height. Despite his stern expression, he was panicking on the inside. Caine hummed nervously, attempting to wriggle his arm from his grip. When that failed, however, he accepted the offer. "Alright, I'll be your jester! When do I start?" Caines arm was freed, and Kinger began to dust off his coat. "Next week, Monday. I hope to see you there."
"Don't hope, my leige! I'll be there, guaranteed!" Caine ran from the court. Kinger lifted the rabbit from his feet, which he had placed to confront Caine. He began to pet it. "Little rabbit, what is this feeling? My heart is flying like a butterfly." The rabbit stared at him, twitching it's nose.
The King sighed, and left the court, his chest warmer than before.

Here's a royalteeth fic
Specifically for @obamerzslop's Terrible AU!
Fic is under the cut! Hope you enjoy!
The adventure was not going as planned.
Caine had begun a man-hunt adventure searching for Bubble, the reasoning behind it being that Bubble had stolen his large hammer, and Caine was pissed.
"FIND THAT FUCKING HOUND!!" He screamed at the others, his eyes wide with rage. Jax scoffed and twirled a knife in his fingers as he leaned against the walls. Ragatha scolded him for slacking.
"Jax, how about instead of taking a nap snuggling a pocket knife, you try helping us find Bubble before Caine murders us!"
"Hey, Bubble is Caines hellhound, not ours. Therefore, it's not our job to find him!" Jax snickered at his remark. Gangles ribbons wound around his neck and began to choke him. His strained cries did not help anyone in the slightest.
Yet despite being choked, Jax still spun the knife, but a grip and a cough sent it flying towards Kingers face.
With a startling splat and crunch, the knife had embedded itself into Kingers eye and head, possibly rendering him half blind.
Everyone was shocked at this sudden injury, including Caine. His hands shook slightly with... Fear? Yes, fear.
Kinger raised a large glove and harshly removed the knife from his face. Blood and sap soaked the metal. Everyone stared in disbelief. Caine gripped his jacket.
~
Hours later, Bubble was found with the hammer and popped. Jax had promptly died of suffocation from Gangles outburst, though his death was overlooked.
"He'll be back tomorrow morning!" Caine reassured, putting away his hammer, which had a red skull emblazed onto the pommel. "You all should head on to bed now, we don't want anyone to be too tired for the next adventure!" Caines loud voice erupted grumbles from his cast, but they eventually complied, heading to their rooms for the night.
However, Kinger stayed behind, remaining firm in his place.
Caine approached him in an angry tone, impatient. "Didn't you hear me, Kinger? I said go to bed-!"
A quick turn of the head shut him up. Kingers eye had completely deflated from the injury he had suffered, making his eye look like a sad balloon. He didn't say anything, he rarely spoke at all, but his glare was terrifying... And endearing to Caine.
For a single moment, Caine felt bad for Kinger. Seeing his hard demeanor, even with such a terrible injury, he knew had to fix it.
With a single snap of his fingers, Kingers eye had returned to normal, much to his surprise. Caine buried his hands into his jackets pockets. "Is that better, old man? Now go to bed, asshole." He scoffed, avoiding Kingers gaze. Kinger leaned towards him and knocked the wood of his face against Caines teeth, almost like a kiss, before leaving to his room.
Caine stared in disbelief, but shook off the mysterious feeling that had risen from the event and ran backstage, ready to shut off for the night.
