BOLD and beautiful book! As always, Kaffe never disappoints. This is a beautiful book with bold and beautiful inspiration and wonderful writing throughout. I have most of Kaffe Fassett's books, and even when I'm not involved in doing a project from one of them, I can still pick one up for inspiration, or just to worship at the altar of the beautiful: both Kaffe and his designs! It's too bad that you can't "Look Inside" these types of books; I think the publisher would sell many more books if you could. Lovely, lovely, lovely!! Go to Amazon

Beautifully presented book As with all Fassett books this is glorious with colour and as usually it realise on the fabric to do so, the patterns I have seen before in other book. Having said that it is a lovely book, unfortunately I ordered on kindle and the pictures are quite small and on enlargement the loose focus. But the biggest problem in that there is no link to the templates. This is particularly annoying for the applique pattern. For this reason I am returning the book and buy it jn a paper version. Love Kaffe Fassett I have several of Kaffe's books and have been fortunate to take a class from him and Brandon. My favorite quilt in this book is an appliqué quilt. I know that the templates have to be enlarged, and that is an inconvenience, but still like the design. Quilters complain that Kaffe does not use better methods for cutting out fabrics, but if you've made a few quilts, you'll know how to do this anyway. Keep on designing Kaffe! Go to Amazon

I had the pleasure of meeting Kaffe back in the 80's when he arrived on the scene with his knitting designs and I've been a fan girl ever since. His use of color is outstanding. A must have, you won't regret buying !!!!! First off...I am a huge doll house phenatic. So i own several doll house books and by several i mean 20. I have been searching for a book that shows me how to build a hand made doll house and furniture from scratch but that still looks store bought, not like other books that just come up with something from small finding and at the end looks nice but not like how an authentic doll house should look or that explain everything in detail but don't have pictures that help. Awesome book! Most wonderful and helpful book I have found yet. I've been planning to build my own dollhouse and have collected Dollhouse books both old and new as well as patterns but this book accomplished more than everything else I had. Every detail of the book is covered even down to diy stair railings, paint chips to buy paint, making lights, faux walls and detailed architectural designs, furniture patterns and directions....truly a beautiful book just to own and enjoy. Dream-inspiring photo book. This is principally a picture book -- a coffee table book -- with a seriesof how-to's. I have not found the how-to's especilly helpful because they assume an existing level of expertise that I simply do not possess. Essential for dollhouse fans Wow. A fabulous book of ideas and photos. Some time to convert cm to in. Some issue figuring out terms for some materials. The book is from English writer....so this is just a small issue. The rooms, and ideas are gorgeous. Excellent Tool Guide This is an excellent guide to choosing, maintaining and using hand tools for most every kind of woodworking. Choosing them had me waffling, but Steve Branam's practical listing of what to look for and what NOT to buy was most helpful. Sharpening and adjusting these tools is probably the most important help, however. In my youth there were old fellas all over town who would sharpen tools of all sorts for you - but like locksmiths and shoe repair men, those days are gone. I have a new favorite devotional. I opened "My Mother's Quilts I have a new favorite devotional. I opened "My Mother's Quilts: Devotions of Love, Legacy, Family and Faith" by Ramona Pope Richards on Thursday morning and started reading. I'm reminded of my own family and quilts, crafted by Aunt Hazel, Aunt Connie, Mama Rose, and Granny. The devotionals are short stories featuring family quilts, comparable in style to Rick Bragg, but I prefer Ramona's style because it's told from the female perspective. I love Rick Bragg's stories, so that might tell you how much I appreciate Ramona's work of art. I'm keeping a copy for myself and adding one to the library's collection. Great for anyone from age 15 on. Great Gift! There are a lot of books on Lingerie. Most of them are about a specific type of lingerie or about how to make it. It is a complex subject, moreso than I think most people realize. Even having done quite a lot of independent research into vintage lingerie and corsets over the years for cosplaying and retro reenactment events, I never considered just how varied lingerie was... I never stepped back and looked at it as a whole. In Intimate Detail made me do that. It is nothing less than a comprehensive guide to lingerie for the modern woman. This book is amazing in several key ways. I'll give a summary of whats available in the book. I'll tell you what I like best about it and I will tell you who I think should read it. I wish with my whole heart this book had been written when I was a teenager This book is superb. It's beautiful to look at, comprehensive, inclusive, and FASCINATING. I feel like there are these huge generation gaps when it comes to lingerie: for decades, no one really taught people about lingerie, its history how it should fit, what it should do, what it all meant; instead, there all these unhelpful myths and weird "facts" that are totally made up yet get repeated over and over again. Brands and retailers hoarded knowledge, leaving consumers and lingerie enthusiasts confused or having to wing it on their own. In Intimate Detail gives you an incredible crash course in lingerie history, what all the words mean, how to choose what YOU want to wear, how to fit yourself, how to shop, and includes information for trans and nonbinary lingerie enthusiasts. The watercolor illustrations are so beautiful, I want to leave the book open to a different page on my coffee table every day. As a person who developed a very full bust very early and had no idea what to do with this body I'd suddenly grown, I desperately wish a book this helpful and celebratory had been around during my preteen and teenager years. Great buy, worth the investment Fantastic book. This was the second book I received that covers building drones. My first book I thought was great, this book is far better getting into more details about all of the necessary hardware and software. This book also details how to build a drone for photography, mini drone, and a fixed wing drone. This book describes how to use different different specs of the multiple options for drone use. I highly recommend this book for anyone that is interested in learning the anatomy of drones, and how to implement different options. I have built my own drone prior to receiving this book and it provided a different (valuable) perspective, as well as clarified questions I developed about components that I wasn't completely familiar with. Nice book for beginners and intermediate enamelers. I like the format of the book. Various techniques are demonstrated by artists who are specialists in that method. Nice pictures of those examples. When you begin enameling it's a bit overwhelming with all the different techniques to try and what each enamel does in each situation. This book helps to explain some of that confusion. I find it very helpful. I must like it as I bought it twice. Couldn't find my 1st copy. I think it's living somewhere with MY 1st copy of Linda Darty's book. Go to Amazon

Priceless but pricey A really excellent book both in its production and content.. Delivery from this seller was timely and courteous and the condition was close enough to description. Collection of Bauhaus Modern, but in a good way. A slight deviation from usual kind of picture book. Nearly all the photographs are black-and-white, only the pictorial index at the end is in color. The majority of pages in the volume (all but the color index) are on a medium weight, medium tooth matt-finish paper; not the common thin sheets depending on a plastic coating for strength, or the saturated and corrected color one normally finds in design books. Even the dust jacket is uncoated, suggesting that it will show fingerprints in time, c'est la vie. (I was mildly amused to discover that the dust jacket on my copy had been attached upside down, curious to know if it was only my copy, or if this is repeated.) The binding is well sewed, and has not yet shown inclination to crack or otherwise come apart. The book is tactilely interesting, and feels good to hold and read. Go to Amazon

The book is very nice quality. It is primarily photos The book is very nice quality. It is primarily photos. However it just wasn't my idea of French Cottage. Too much distressed, shabby, whitish furniture. It seemed more in the shabby chic style. Photos wasted on vignettes/items such as a tea cup of cherries, pillow with initials, and there seems to be some replicating of the same photo throughout the book. It also uses photos that show a close up of the items already depicted. (The larger photos are big enough to see everything already.) The duplicate close ups are annoying and seem to be filler? Wanted to see more rooms and their design features. Too many close ups of tea services, dishes, monogrammed linens and personal photos. The garden photos and kitchens are the best part of the book. Living spaces mostly disappointing. Received this as a Mother's day gift. Go to Amazon

Why Did I Ignore the Reviews? This book is not what it claims to be. And if I had just paid attention to the reviews, I would have avoided the annoyance. Of the several "cottages" featured, only one is actually in France. All are owned by Americans with a passing fancy for things French. There are no tips only boring accounts of the owners. I’ve NEVER done hand lettering or bullet journaling— 100% beginner and I love this book! I just got this book today and I’ve been having so much fun!! I think this book is an amazing deal for just $7! I haven’t gotten my brush pens yet so I’ve just been doing simple hand lettering with a mechanical pencil. Still super fun! Hat I recommend, and I didn’t do sadly, is to take pictures of the pages before you start writing in them or scan them so you can print them out and use them again if you want. Personally I forgot to do this but I don’t think it’s 100% necessary anyway because you can always get an extra notebook and trace! Anyway, am loving this book so far! Go to Amazon

The only downfall n the reason I chose 4 stars instead of 5 is because the ink bleeds thru the paper really badly. Don't buy this if you're a beginner This book...I mean, you look at it and think, how hard can this be to convey? But it does not give you any more instruction than "aren't these cool? Let's try some!" leaving out a lot of important troubleshooting steps. In reality, hand lettering is really difficult at first, and it's better to start with basic shapes (instead of jumping right into letters, which this book does) and practice those umpteen times. Like others have said, you don't get more than a couple lines for each letter. After fiddling with this book, I went to YouTube and found some comprehensive tutorials and free, printable worksheets with lots of good advice, especially for navigating tricky shapes. Don't buy this if you're a beginner, unless you want to risk being discouraged and giving up. Go to Amazon

Wonderful memories for my grandchild I've done one of these for each of my grandkids. Imagine my dismay when I realized I hadn't done one for my granddaughter who is visiting in July! Deeply Cherished This was probably the best gift I've ever given to my grandma. It asks all of the questions that we never think to ask, but really should know. One of my favorite things about this book is that the pages aren't numbered. It goes so into depth that there are going to be prompts that don't apply. Or questions that aren't appropriate. Awesome family keepsake! These are fantastic to buy for your mother to fill out for your children or to fill out for your own grandchildren. SO many great story starters. My grandmother filled out a similar one for me before she passed away in 2005 and it is something I treasure and get out every holiday for her recipes. At her funeral people enjoyed looking through the book to read the stories she wrote and the pictures she pasted into it for me. I think everyone should do this because grandparents seem to die too soon (not that there's ever a good time) but I was young and busy with small children and I know that I have thought of so many questions I wish I would've asked. This book is priceless and my daughter has enjoyed looking at mine that my grandma filled out for me and she asked me to get one for her grandma too! Most complete and comprehensive book on needlework This book contains every form of needlework that I can think of. I bought my copy in 1980 when it was first published, but It is no longer in print, so I ordered it from a reseller and I was surprised when it arrived: There are no more copies of the book published in the US, and those now available, even in the US, were published by Readers Digest Ltd of Canada. The book is exactly like mine, but there are charts giving American, British, and metric needle sizes for such items as crochet hooks, knitting needles, and tapestry needles. As far as I know, there are no other differences -- I didn't check for American vs British spelling of certain words -- color/colour, theater/theatre. Overall, even with the charts, it is still the most complete and comprehensive book on needlework that I have ever seen. Go to Amazon

I left my original copy at my brother's house .. in PA, so ordered myself another book. This book has pretty much everything in the way of needlecrafts. Good pictures and good illustrations also. Well worth the money - I think I paid $10 or $12 for it. I bought a used one that was in "very good" condition. If you buy it, you won't be sorry. Excellent gifts I recently bought three of these books because I got mine many years ago and have found it to be an excellent resource for instructions that I returned to many times over the years. My niece wanted to learn how to knit and crochet (she's a new mom). I told her about the book that I had. When I got home I thought maybe Amazon might still have printings of it. Independent knitter's book This "new to me" book does not disappoint, even years after it's publication. Meg is every bit the Knitting Guru that her beloved mother was. And this book is full of *why*. An experienced knitter myself, with more modern taste, I don't actually like many of the designs in this book. But it doesn't matter. I can make them my own. Book smells musty! The book condition was described as 'Used, very good'. The pages are physically in good condition, but it smells very musty - not something I want to handle much. Meg Swansen uses each of her unique knitting designs to teach knitters in depth: helping us to learn with text and marvelous color photos; close ups of difficult areas; clear charts and directions. I've knitted many Fassett and Starmore designs and they're gorgeous, but Meg's thoughtful consideration of actual knitting has lead me into designs, such as saddle shoulders, I never could have done without her guidance.
