“well it might only take like two or three prizes for me to haul my weight in prizes.” nancy said with a soft chuckle. while nancy might’ve focused on work a lot, when she was ahead of her deadline and had no work, she enjoyed to have fun and enjoy that time. “though before we hit up a rollercoaster, i may need a slushie, just so i don’t get lightheaded on it.”

“you know what i meant, nance!” steve shook his head with a laugh. in all honesty, he was just glad that he could pull his friend out with him. even if it meant potentially having to pay for almost everything! “so you want to get a sugar rush before we hit the rollercoaster? i think that sounds fair!”

“is everything okay? you seem a bit distracted.” mara stated to tim. mara still couldn’t believe how much she changed as a person, actually caring about how others were doing. she was no longer the emotionless assassin she use to be whose biggest desire was to become the emperor’s apprentice. but finally going to the light side of the force helped her change. “and don’t worry, i was more rambling than saying anything useful.”

“oh! yeah everything’s fine!” tim flashed the red-head a reassuring smile. he tried to fight back the little bit of embarrassment that he felt. it wasn’t anyone’s fault but his own that he couldn’t pay attention. his own caffeine habits would be the end of him. “are you sure? i’m sorry. i feel like such a jerk for not listening!”

“it really is. and i mean i’ve learned how to adapt better to new situations. but this, just seems so foreign to me.” rey explained to paige. "the jedi order where i am from is seen as an ancient religion. and well when my masters died i became the last jedi. and like any last jedi it’s my job to find other force sensitive people and teach them to use the force and decide the rules and how the new jedi order will be run. and well hope to not lose any student to the dark side of the force.“ she replied. "i am friends with quite a few. we all fought a war to restore peace to the galaxy and let me just tell you, that is great bonding opportunities.”

“yeah...i can’t imagine! it’s weird enough showing up a few states over but another planet? that’s gotta be something to get used to.” paige was trying not to freak out in all honesty. the thought of what was actually going on was a little weird even for her. “the dark side...yeah i can relate to that a little actually. definitely different though.” paige glanced around before she leaned in a little closer to the brunette. “is it a little bit like witchcraft? because it sounds like it a little bit!” she beamed. “i can imagine it would be! i haven’t done anything like saving the galaxy but saving the world. nothing new!”

“no, i bet there are lamer ways to die. have you have seen the show dumbest ways to die, there are some really dumb and lame ways that people die on that show.” she said with a laugh. “sometimes i feel like that.” mal didn’t know why no matter what she does or anything, she always felt like something was missing in her life and her life was never good enough for her. “you know, there are some days that if someone gave me a cold coffee, i may lose it.” she chuckled.

“you think so?” sirius let out a laugh. “well i haven’t seen it but now i feel like i have to. i have to at least up my game for when i eventually bite the dust, you know.” he winked. sirius wasn’t usually a person to talk about such deep things in public even if it was joking around. death was always a touchy subject, but he was pretty sure it was that way for everyone. “i would chuck that cold coffee right in someone’s face some days! at least it wouldn’t burn someone, right?” he laughed. “but surely you can’t feel like that everyday?”

“the only people i’d trust are those who don’t drink. but i find it a bore to not drink and have fun.” the jedi stated to sam. “this may seem basic, but i’ll take a cosmpolitian.” she replied to him with a kind smile.

“really? well i like to think that drunk minds speak sober thoughts or whatever the saying is..” sam shrugged his shoulders, “but you know i agree with that. i think it’s pretty fair to say i don’t trust boring people then.” he tapped his chin and nodded before he raised a hand to call over the bartended. “basic or not, a drink it a drink!” he placed the order along with his own drink order before handing over a decent enough tip. “we can’t all handle handle the same amount of alcohol or something as fancy as what you’re having!”

Steve was always someone who liked to have a lot of fun. His job itself was pretty fun. Even college was pretty fun. But spending time at dreamland every once and a while was a blast. He could eat funnel cake and go on the tilt-a-whirl and all that good stuff. “Okay so we can either go get some slushies. Or we can hit a rollercoaster! Or we can hit the games and see if we can haul out our body weight in prizes!”

Tim was usually a pretty polite person. Sometimes he just happened to be in a pretty weird mood, but that was a given for someone who didn’t really sleep a lot. Still, if he wanted to work his way up from making coffee his whole life, it required a lot of studying. Not that his brain really absorbed any of it when he was struggling to read and keep up with a conversation. “I’ll be totally honest.” Tim glanced up from the book in front of him. “I haven’t caught the last three minutes of what you said.”

“ i’m only being defensive in response to your criticism. this is a conversation that you started. ” remus points out with a matter of fact tone, though there’s a teasing lilt to it nevertheless. “ i never knocked warm coffee. nobody really drinks it for the taste usually, just for the boost in energy. colder drinks just give it to you quicker. ” he shrugs. “ you know. i’m good, think i’ll stick with the coffee. ”

“okay... you got me there.” sirius shrugged before he took a sip of his coffee. the smile crept onto his face even as he lowered his cup. “maybe i drink it for the taste!? but wait is that really true? i don’t know if i need to get more energy faster. that might not be too good of a thing. not that my energy level has ever been a topic of debate before in all honesty.” he lowered his hand to his chest. “oh how you wound me! fine have it your way. i hope you and your cold coffee are happy.”

The low of Ella’s back is leaned up against the counter as she searches the crowd for her friends. At some point in the night, they took different directions. A few dancing with someone hoping the night wouldn’t end at the nightclub, a few out for a smoke and like Ella, a few that took to the bar for some drinks. Through the music, she heard the offer of a round and looked to her side spotting the culprit. “A round sounds great.” She turns to face the bar, hands flat on the counter top as eyes stay on her new companion. “Shots?”

sam quirked an eyebrow before he slapped a hand on the counter and let out a laugh. “see, usually i’m the one bringing up the shots! who am i to say no to that.” he turned and looked down at the blonde with a smile. “what kind are you thinking? i gotta know. if it’s something too sweet, i don’t know if i can do that with you, blondie.” he teased.

“The lack of coffee does that to people. And the fact that we have to actually deal with people.” There was days where Lizzie just didn’t want to adult, wanting to stay in a cocoon of her covers and watch TV all day. “At least it’s not cold brew.” She points out with a hint of a smile on her lips.

“oh that’s so very true.” sirius agreed. “having to deal with people before having any coffee is practically criminal if you ask me.” not that anyone would ever really ask sirius a question like that. but he was always one to offer his opinion. a sly smile slipped onto his face as he raised his cup a little bit. “i would offer you a cheers to that but that might be too cheesy for me.”

sam glanced down at the drink in front of the younger woman before he looked back up with an amused look on his face. “what are you drinking? a shirley temple? that’s adorable! i don’t think i’ve seen someone drink one of those in...well. a while.” he flashed her a charming smile. “but if you’re sure. i can buy you another one of those if you want! or knock anyone else out who offers to buy you anything else.” sam liked leaving people wondering if he was joking or not.

“that is a wonderful question, actually.” sam entertained the hypothetical for a second. “i don’t really trust anyone who could refuse a free drink when it’s offered, you know?” he laughed. it definitely wasn’t true, but he enjoyed messing with people a little bit. “so. what will you be having then?”

A small internal battle flitted through his head before he moves back to the counter, “Yeah sure.” He gave the other a smile, “One more drink wouldn’t kill me tonight.”

sam threw an arm in the air in celebration. “great! that’s the spirit.” he waved an arm towards the empty chair closest to him. “what’re you having there, buddy? anything special?” he flashed the other man a somewhat charming smile.

“ah yes. bitter and as dark as some of the souls of the people in this very room.” sirius nodded his head sagely. it was a comparison that was pretty much beaten to death but it was funny. at least to him. he let out a snort of laughter as he nodded. “a little aggressive but that’s the fighting spirit that i like to see in people!” he winked at her playfully. “i’m surprised that you can contain yourself. you deserve some sort of prize.”

sam spent a lot more time at storm that he would ever really admit. sometimes he was just there for a drink. other times, the people sitting next to him would leave with a few less dollars in their pockets. once a thief, always a thief. “how about a round?” sam turned to the person sitting next to him with what was supposed to be a cheerful smile plastered on his face.
