I used to think when Neil told the foxes that "he asked" when the foxes asked how he got Andrew to do stuff he was just knowingly lying because it wasn't just asking, it was clearly an exchange, a deal.

but now I think that Neil just has such a genuine kinship with Andrew that their definition of "asking" is just completely different than other people's, that the foxes dont understand. To Andreil asking someone to do something is always an exchange of something. Especially in the world that they grew up in. Nothing came for free. In their world, there's no such thing as altruism. People don't just do things because you simply asked them to. They don't do things for nothing in return. So the typical concept of "asking" and just getting something done for nothing doesn't exist to Neil. So when he tells the foxes he "just asked" it's because he genuinely think that that's what asking is; he doesn't know it means something completely different to the foxes.

My religion is kevin offering to watch neil so he can drink on thanksgiving. In french. And then nicky going "omg neil is making the face kevin can be nice?????!?!??!" Which is hilarious because it implies that Neil really isn't as stone cold as he thinks, and he basically canonically reacts like a deer in headlights whenever someone does ANYTHING remotely nice for him.

I’m actually so ill about the fact that Andrew gave Neil the set of armbands and here’s why-

When Neil puts those one, his entire team will know that they’re covering up his scars. They’ll look at Andrew and suddenly see his own bands in a new light. Up until now Andrew hasn’t led anyone to believe he’s hiding anything under them besides his knives- but now that Neil is covered in scars, and now that he’s wearing identical armbands to Andrew- it wouldn’t take long to piece together why Andrew wears them.

Andrew didn’t just give him the armbands. He silently handed away his own cover from his teammates prying eyes. But he’d deemed Neil and Neil’s discomfort to be worth that. He sacrificed his own cover in favor of giving Neil a way to hide.

something i just really like to think about is neil starting to show his actual personality to the rest of the foxes post-canon and them being shocked.

before they knew about everything, he had to keep up the shy, quiet, ordinary, unsuspecting neil josten act. but post-canon, i like to think that he lets loose a little, allows his real personality to show. he actually lets them see ruthless, blunt, hot-tempered neil josten.

i believe in neil having a very specific "im about to raise hell" expression where he does his scary smile and his eyes go absolutely feral, and the others learn that if they see that expression, they need to step aside. also, i think the others might underestimate how good of a liar neil is. he'll have them convinced that he's innocent but andrew will insist that he's lying; the others, at first, think andrew's being mean and bitter, neil's too sweet to be faking this time, why would he lie about something small like this? ...and then neil's expression completely changes from "innocent child" to "chaos demon" frighteningly quickly. it's absolutely terrifying. andrew sees the horror on the other's faces and just goes, see? gullible morons.

what makes this even better: i like to think that once andrew sees that neil won't be pushed around anymore, and also that neil won't let his people be pushed around either, that andrew feels like he can let down his guard a little bit. like...he feels like there is someone who is willing to and capable of protecting him for once. so andrew might actually relax a little bit...while neil gets more unhinged. i just love this trope and all the possibilities.

like, imagine neil does or says something shocking to the upperclassmen, and they turn to andrew and are like "??? are you gonna control him??" because they're used to andrew being controlling over his people. but andrew doesn't feel the need to control neil when he's like this (tbh he's not fully sure that he could). so he just shrugs nonchalantly and stares blankly (and, if you look closely, admiringly) at neil while he wreaks havoc.

it's just like...wait til the upperclassmen realize that neil is far more willing to fuck shit up than andrew ever was. wait until they realize that andrew just wants to drink hot chocolate and talk shit with his therapist while neil crosses people off his hit list. you know?

Headcanon:

sometimes when it’s a good day for Andrew but Neil has a nightmare they will just lay awake holding each other.

To Neil it’s like Andrew is holding him back from running. A physical weight reminding him that he doesn’t need to book it the second he feels to comfortable.

Andrew knows doing this is grounding for Neil. He also knows that Neil would never ask for this if Andrew wasn’t completely comfortable with it. That makes it safe. If Andrew says no they could go for a drive or out for a cigarette or literally anything but this but he knows how much Neil likes this and Andrew would gladly sacrifice a sleepless night in exchange for Neil’s happiness.

Anyway this got a little out of my control so basically they find comfort in each other and that makes me feel feelings.

i am writing an aftg x pjo fic. i need help for the foxes godly parents

i am, for the sake of the plot, going with this: riko, jean, kevin and neil are kids of the big three. broken pact and all, they should all be sent to tetsuji/ravens to control their powers and become strong demigods. that being said, neil is a hades kid. running from the god of death sure is fitting for neil, in my head. kev and jean are poseidon kids, and riko is a zeus kid.

the issue are the other foxes. for andrew and aaron i am leaning towards athena, but nemesis for andrew would be fitting. but they're twins, sooooooo athena it is.

seth is an ares kid. for matt i'm thinking apollo/hephaestus. dan is hermes. renee is hecate and i consider placing her as a hunter of artemis but i need renison and idk if they can date woman. allison is aphrodite. i would either place nicky in aphrodite or hermes. jeremy is also apollo because. well. jeremy.

give me your thoughts please!!
