Just a random thought after reading Alfons's route of the fake lovers event. I'm not sure how to say this because I don't usually post my thoughts/analysis on characters, but I'll try ^3^

You know, I think Alfons and Clavis are really similar, they're both mysterious, they act like MC is just a toy to them, but they both have hidden depths behind the facade they show.

But I think the main difference is that Clavis wants Belle to see the violence, the whole dark side of royalty, he wants her to face up to it and find out the truth, because she needs to know who the princes really are in order to decide who should become king.

Belle mustn't close her eyes to the reality around her, however difficult it may be.

But Alfons is the opposite. During the event he didn't want Kate to find out that the man he went to investigate was really involved in shady things, nor did he want her to see him getting rid of that man. All he did was alter her reality into something more pleasant, just as he made that other man have an illusion that his missing lover was alive.

He acted as if he'd done all this for his own sadistic amusement, but I don't think that's it. My impression is that Alfons really does care about the suffering of others, even if he says otherwise.
