Do you know of a comprehensive guide for glowing up and just being better overall ?

When it comes to showing a video to my daughter, this will be the first and foremost thing I show her. She will come into the world being that beauty is about who she is, what she does and how she does. This was made in 1969 but everything this mini documentary talks about in regards to becoming beautiful stands true now. My favourite thing I have carried from this video is ' interesting people have interests'. Also this is the video that taught me to lose five pounds in five seconds.

I think if you really have no idea where or how to start, doing things this video tells you to is a good starting point. Do all and then you have yourself a glowup of the century.

Never understood the collective vehement resentment of small talk lol i hate the painful grind of small talk as much as the next person but i think id rather shrivel up and die than be denied nuggets of joy found in standing in an elevator and having a middle aged woman compliment my nails or bonding fleetingly with a cafegoer over the city's temperamental weather it's so integral to nurturing & cultivating the soul i think

But sad songs are also very relaxing, especially at night. I don't get the same effect listening to happy songs like Dynamite by BTS. However, listening to a lot of sad songs is bad 🫠

I havent stopped listening to sad songs completely completely, I am just very choosy about what I listen to. For example, Hope is a dangerous thing (LDR) is one of my all time favourite songs and though I really do resonate with, the me today and the me tomorrow is not someone who will. I rarely listen to that song nowadays and when I do a) i dont sing along b) i dont try to relate the song to me.

Hi Daphne! I’ll be in London during the cusp of June/July. Where should I hit up for good deals on makeup/fragrances (I.e. covent garden Boots? Superdrug?) Not sure if selfridges is having a sale but I’ve been dying to get my hands on Robert Piguet’s Fracas.

I can't say for much for makeup but your standard Boots, Superdrugs, Harrods Beauty are great! I would be on the look out for Charlotte Tilbury classes where you can learn which makeup suits you can you get a cash back to spend on their products ( aka its free) . If you have time please make a stop at the Face Gym and lemme know how it is!

For perfumes however, I do have more reccomendations:

For Arabic perfumes, Al Baraka is well known for having everything for decent prices. It has become popular on tiktok so not sure how that has impacted the prices. Another option is Al Arabiya which is nearby so you can stop at both whilst there. Arabian Oud Oxford street is a more high end alternative.

In terms of British houses, you have the flagship store for Penhaligons (Luna is a gorgeous summer scent!). You also have Ormonde Jayne,Roja Parfums and Floris ( Would recommend Floris mouthwash ).

For a niche curated selection head to Jovoy in Mayfair which carries some of the aforementioned brands and others as well. If you wanna go even more niche, Bloom Perfumery is a great option.

(Also obviously Harrods Beauty carries a lot of your common well known perfumer brands like Kurkdjian and Diptyque )

This is so true. Realistically yeah all ig models and tiktokers put in work but the results are not the same. None of them are inspirational. No one is special.

I miss the late 1990s and early 2000s so much because you couldn’t just get on your phone and become famous, you had to be bad (and know it) and you had to be willing to work your ass off to look good.

there is a girl on tiktok who goes on a five hour walk everyday and nothing of that makes any sense to me. what do you mean you are walking 14 miles a day for a 'walk' ?

a little hair tip for those who have dry scalp and hair: try and oatmeal hair mask. cook your oats w/ a little bit more water then usual. when its more than 3/4s done, take it off , let it cool before blending. let it cool again and apply x
