“Can we ever play?” She asked, wanting to expeirence the new game and also spend more time with her new friend.
Darcy frowned at the laughter about her biting someone, but not because of his words. That meant that she was wrong and he probably didn’t know about her abilities. Was she supposed to tell him? Was Bucky really safe to tell? The eight year old lightly bit her bottom lip as she thought to herself. She traced a heart on the picnic table and noticed how Bucky looked over at the front door.
“Do.. do you wanna come inside? I’ll show you around.” Her voice was quieter, more subdued as if she had been scolded. “Mom won’t mind if she’s with auntie. I don’t think she’d even notice.” Darcy lightly joked as she also stood up and stretched. She began picking up her toys and walking over to the front door.
Story Telling: Closed.
(for @darcy-romanova-drysdale)
Quite honestly, he should have known it was a trick. Driving away from the city for the day was a much needed get away. When they ventured to Boston, Bucky’s skeptical nature piqued and after a few turns, he found himself at Yelena’s sisters house. The look he gave her when she kept repeating that it would be ‘just a few minutes’ should how much he doubted that. He still sent her off with a kiss and a promise to wait outside. He didn’t know Yelena’s sister or her husband well enough to stay in their home without an invite. Call him old fashioned but he preferred the outside anyway.
Leaning against the car, the rustle of leaves and branches above didn’t go unnoticed. Neither had the small child-like figure when he pulled the car into the driveway. It was too easy to tell he was being watched. Glancing to the side, he knew Yelena would be a while. What did he have to lose?
His gaze turned back to the tree trunk with a few toys laying around it, surely not abandoned completely. “Hm, sure wish someone was out here tellin‘ me what animals those are.” Bucky spoke up loud enough for the guest above to hear, squinting an eye away from where the dinosaurs laid. “Shame. Gotta give ‘em a name and everythin’ even though the red one definitely doesn’t look like a Stewart.”

Darcy hummed softly as she nuzzled her face against Natasha's neck, her half dry braided hair underneath her mom's chin. It wasn't long before she fell asleep like this.
Darcy walked into Natasha’s room after her nightly shower. The young girl smiled at her mom as she held her cherished stuffed animal bunny close to her chest. “Мамочка? Могу я спать с тобой сегодня вечером?” She yawned against her bunny after speaking.

She laughed quietly at the story, the visual of it in her mind as amusing as Natasha's description. "That's silly." Darcy began tracing a familiar pattern on her mom's shoulder. "Missed cuddling like this." She admitted quietly.

Darcy held her stuffed animal close as her mom carried her. She closed her eyes again as she relaxed. "One bout uncle Bruce?" It wasn't a surprising request since Hulk is one of her favorites.

She hummed in confirmation. "Carry?" Darcy asked as she put her hands on Nat's shoulders. "Also, storytime?"

As if knowing that the braid was done, she turned and smiled at Nat while opening her eyes. "I love it." She admired the braid in the mirror before turning around on the counter again.

The girl kept her eyes closed as she traced patterns on her stuffed animal while Nat braided her hair. She could hear the owls outside and it made her smile.

Darcy loved the feeling of her hair being brushed so she smiled sleepily, a small giggle left her again when she saw Nat poking her tounge out at her. She stayed quiet and closed her eyes contently.

“Purple perfection.” She giggled at her own words. Darcy turned around so she was facing the sink with her legs folded on the countertop. She stuck her tounge out and watched her reflection happily.

Darcy mirrored the small laugh and looked around the bathroom at this angle. “What kind of braid you gonna do?” She asked.

Andrew was not shocked at her words and he knew she was right. Leaving would probably be best for Darcy. He looked down at the grave with a knowing but sad look on his face. The sound of twigs breaking brought him out of his trance. Darcy was back in her human form, and she had heard what Yelena said to him. The teenager slipped her jacket back on as she approached her aunt, giving her a small smile to indicate that she was okay and that she did not disagree with her words to Andrew.
The father and daughter nodded silently to each other and Darcy watched as Andrew went down the path that he approached them on. When Andrew was out of eyesight Darcy turned to her aunt, resting her head on Yelena’s shoulder. “Race you back to the car?” She asked softly. She was feeling a lot of things but she didn’t want to dwell on any of them. Her black hair faded back to its natural auburn color as the leaves blew in the wind above them.
Forest Conversations
Darcy sat silently against a tree as she stared into the thick forest, her hands mindlessly twirling a stick she had found. The sounds of the forest enveloped the teenager. The wind whistling through the frighteningly tall trees, the small animals munching on leaves, the birds singing. The sky was clear of clouds and the sun beat down on her. It was around two thirty in the afternoon and she had planned to meet Yelena at this forest path. What she didn’t tell Yelena was what this forest had inside of it. It had taken many conversations with the elders of the pack to get this location.
The sound of wheels on gravel brought Darcy out of her thoughts. She stood up and stretched her arms above her head as she watched her aunt park her car.

“Ooo I’m breakin the rules.” Darcy realized as she sat on the counter. The girl looked around at the countertop as Nat grabbed the items. “I’m not super little anymore mumma.” She reminded.

Darcy smiled sleepily as she twirled the strands of hair. “You always do pretty braids though mama. I got best mama.” She nuzzled her face against Natasha’s neck. She listened to the calm beating of her mom’s heart.

“Yay!” She cheered quietly, happy that her mom said yes to braiding her hair. “A pretty one. Don’t like hair in my face at night.” Darcy adjusted so she could play with a few strands of Nat’s soft hair.

Darcy smiled softly as she was lifted into her mom’s arms. “Just want you.” She said quietly before pressing her face against Natasha’s shoulder. Her auburn hair was still wet from the shower. “Can you braid my hair too?”

“I’ll take that as ... the only reason you haven’t tried to kill me yet is because she made you promise?” Andrew asked. He put emphasis on the word tried on purpose. The man put his hands back into his pockets and turned to his dead wife’s grave. “I made mistakes with Darcy and with Penelope. I’ve always tried to do what’s best for her though. That’s why I gave her up to Natasha. I know it seemed awful of me to give my seven year old to someone I met at a café but I knew Natasha was an Avenger. I knew she must’ve been good.” Andrew wasn’t sure whether he was speaking to himself, Penelope or Yelena, or even all three of them. “I want to make things better but she hates me.” Andrew looked over his shoulder at Yelena.
“Any advice?” He asked halfheartedly. Andrew knew that he didn’t know his daughter well enough to know where to start but he had a feeling that someone who she was closer to might have an idea.
Meanwhile, Darcy was running through the woods in her wolf form. Being wolfie was so much easier than being human. Running through the woods with the feeling of the wind through her fur and the sounds of the trees, other animals just existing around her. No thoughts of worries or dangers.
