I’ve been thinking about the stigma that all tickling is s*xual, and as an AroAce, this idea never resonated with me.

Think about it like this: you hug your parents differently from how you’d hug your partner, right? And you’d hug your friends differently too. Hugging CAN be used in s*xual scenarios, but that’s not ALWAYS the case. It depends on the context and the perspective of those involved.

So how is tickling any different? It CAN be a form of arousal, but not ALWAYS. For some, especially those on the asexual spectrum, it’s a form of platonic bonding. And that’s okay.

Tickling is versatile, and it’s allowed to mean something different to each person. Those are just my two cents, at least.
