Kendrick was just as swift and graceful in the pool as he was outside of it. Moving and cutting through the water has always been rather easy for the demon. But the other man seemed to be just as impressive. And as he finally touched the wall, he couldn't help but to pout when he realized that the other managed to get there not even a second before him. "Well, that was definitely close." Kendrick said with a laugh and a shake of his head.

The other man seemed to be keeping pace with him but Noah wasn't really focused on what his competition was doing, he just wanted to stay locked into his own race. He reached the other end and pushed off that wall for an extra boost, driving hard towards where they'd started. He could see the wall coming up and was seconds away, reaching for it. He thought he might win unless the other guy beat him there. They hadn't even talked about stakes. Well, they could figure that out once they had a winner.

Kendrick grinned as he heard the other man's language. Nice to know that this one wasn't one of those goody-two-shoes people. Kendrick hummed as he looked at the other as he picked up his water bottle. "Not really. I'm used to having my loyal servants carry me around." Kendrick said with a shrug of his shoulders and a hum. "I was trying to find my way to the library and got lost. I'm on my freebie hour." Kendrick said with a nod of his head. He was on his freebie hour, so there was that...But no, he hadn't been looking for the library what so ever. "This place is freaking massive."

"Jesus fucking Christ!" All Seth wanted was to go home at the end of his shift from a very hectic day of work that left him mentally and emotionally drained. He craved his couch, comfy clothes, comfort food, Law and Order SVU reruns, and some chamomile tea before passing out for the night. So when he collided into someone he wasn't expecting and lost his grip on his water bottle that clanked on the floor and popped the lid open, it might as well have incited a mental breakdown. "Walk much, will you?" he grumbled, kneeling down to pick up his water bottle and close it up. "I'm fine, relatively speaking." He glanced up at Kendrick, furrowing his brows as he noted the collar around his neck. "What're you doing up here without an escort?"

Kendrick was definitely beginning to get a little worried. He's heard no word from Abel, and he was beginning to wonder if his master had left him behind in the castle. If he's decided to just abandon the war. Because normally? Kendrick would have heard something by now. That's what he assumed anyways. Still, Kendrick wasn't going to let this get him down. He would keep collecting information. People's lips were beginning to finally loosen again. And now was the time for Kendrick to get serious.

Kendrick had been sneaking around the castle. He needed to get more information other than where he was able to go to. Odds are? The juicy stuff is kept where only the masters and higher ranks have access to. So Kendrick was trying his best to sneak through the castle. So imagine his surprise when he slipped through a corner, just to run right into someone.

"Son of a bitch," The slave hissed as he fell back in surprise, grunting as he shook his head. The demon blinked as he looked at the other. "You okay there, handsome?"

Kendrick nodded his head. "Make sure to pass it along. We have to deal with enough dickwads as it is. There's no need to include ourselves into our catagory of enemies." Kendrick jested with a smirk and a playful wink in the other man's direction. "Follow me," Kendrick said before he began making his way to the library. "It has a pretty decent fiction section. Although I absolutely refused to touch the non-fiction section. That shit is boring as hell no matter where you go." He said with a snort.

Something told Kaj that being charitable wasn't very common within Krov's, even among the people enslaved there. It was probably better not to form attachments and looking out for yourself was the only way you'd know for sure that someone would. Still, he didn't question Kendrick. If there was someone that went against that grain, more power to him... but it was easy to see it as a joke, rather than a confession. "I'll remember that the next time someone doesn't hold up to their duties," he answered, half a joke. "Which way is it? The, uh... it would be a library, wouldn't it?"

Kendrick grinned as he heard the other man's words, glad to know that he just might have a little bit of competition. Which was something exciting for the demon. When the other finished counting down, Kendrick grunted as he suddenly shoved off of the wall with his strong thighs. He pushed himself to swim, enjoying the freeness that came with slicing through the water along with the heavy thrill of a competition. Ah...Perhaps he was born to be a merefolk, because right now? The demon felt right at home in the water.

"No kiddin'." They were both clearly confident in their ability to win and Noah grinned right back. "All right then." He got himself set up on one end, hanging onto the side so he could give himself a push off and a good start, waiting for Kendrick to set up similarly. It was only fair, he didn't want to be accused of cheating when this was so competitive. "Three, two, one...go!" He gave the countdown and as soon as he said go he pushed off the wall and surged forward. It felt good to swim, to stretch his muscles like this, and he went hard for it. He was more or less used to his weakened body with the collar on but it was still strange down here. Still, he went as hard as he could, barreling down the lane to get to the other end and back before the other man.

Kendrick nodded his head as he heard the other man's words. "Well...Since someone is lacking in their duty department and I don't want you suffering for it...I suppose I'll give you a tour during our free time like the charitable person that I am." Kendrick said with a over dramatic tone and a grand swipe towards his person with a cheeky grin. "I am known for being quite charitable." A complete and utter lie if he's ever said one.

"I mean, care if I get punished for it. I'm sure there's plenty of impatient people here." No doubt many of them were also the irritable type, eager to have someone to take their frustrations out on. It was half the appeal of renting, he supposed... other than having someone that couldn't refuse you. "Today, I think." Was he positive? No. But he would take the fall for it if he was wrong. "It'd be nice to have some idea where I'm going. I appreciate it."

Kendrick let out a chuckle. "i suppose that's true. Most people around here age super slow." Kendrick agreed with a smirk and a shrug of his shoulders and a small little snort. "I'm cool with doing one. It'll be the same result either way." The arachna said with a competitive grin.

"Not like I could tell by lookin' at you." You never really knew how long someone had been down here unless you asked directly. "Oh, that's how it is?" Noah smirked and followed him into the water, feeling refreshed by the cold shock of it. "So, first one there and back wins? Or we doin' more laps than that?"

"Oh come now, no need for such harsh words," The demon said. Kendrick clutched his heart as if the words had actually wounded him. Hearing the other man's question, Kendrick let out a snort and shook his head. "Are you kidding me? Not at all. With words of so many of you fragile vampires getting attacked, there's definitely been a dip in clients coming here." Kendrick said with a mock pout. "Kind of hard to get my daily facial with so few masters, you know?"

"If you want to know anything you won't. You're a slave who doesn't ned to know anything." At this point Nikolas was used to people asking questions or making fun of him. So he was in no mood when this slave tried to talk about it. Eyeing the other he felt like the conversation was going to continue this way. Made him wonder if the other didn't have much to do. "Shouldn't you be doing something other than trying to pull information from me?"

Kendrick let out a snort and shook his head. "Are you kidding? You know how impatient some of these shits are? They'll definitely care." the demon says with a gron as he stretched his back. "Is your next free time today or tomorrow?" Kendrick asked the other man curiously. "i can give you a little tour of the castle. It won't have all of the small places, but it'll at least get you familiar with the heavy hitters."

"I figured they just didn't care if I could or not." If Kaj wasn't able to navigate the winding halls, what did it matter to any of them? The only way it could have become a bother is if he was expected somewhere, and at that point it would have been considered his fault for not learning the layout quickly enough. But Kaj kept that complaint to himself, more or less, just thankful that someone was willing to show him around a little. "But you're right, it would make more sense if they bothered."

Kendrick let out a snort. "In my defense, it's not like I'm one of the vets here. I don't know all of the ins and outs yet myself." Kendrick admitted with a shrug of his shoulders and a sheepish grin. As the other assumed, Kendrick followed after the other to the pool. Rolling his eyes, Kendrick stripped down to his own pair of underwear and slipped into the pool. "I don't need no warm up. I just figured you would be the warm up." Kendrick teased with a cheeky grin and a smirk.

"I dunno, man, I was just hopin' for something a little different." That had clearly been unrealistic. At least he was up for a competition which would at least be a bit distracting for a while. "Please, you're the one that's gonna have to hold back tears when I leave you in the dust." Getting up, he headed for the pool and assumed the other man would follow. They didn't exactly have swimming trunks so it would be down to underwear but it wasn't like Noah was ashamed of his body. In fact, it was basically the only thing about himself he was proud of. "You need a warm up lap or something? Wouldn't want to take advantage of you." Once they were pool side, he stripped down and waited to see if they were starting right away or warming up.

Now was the perfect time. The spy had been lying low...Laying in wait. But with so much commotion going around? Now was the perfect time to try to gleam some information from people. Sure, people were definitely on high alert. But they were also at their most vulnerable. And Kendrick? Kendrick was a master at politicing and doing the social thing. So he had no doubt he would be able to gleam something useful.

And next on his list? Was Nikolas, one of the people that had been attacked. Which gave him a easy in. The demon looked at the other man and nodded when they crossed paths. A pure coincidence, of course. "Hey there," The slave said. He was merely 'mozying' around during his free time. Or at least, that's what he would tell anyone who asked. "Are you doing okay? Heard that you got attacked or something." He said, letting a hint of concern slip into his eyes.

Kendrick let out a 'tsk' sound before shaking his head. "This place is massive...Don't know how they expect you to navigate this place and the masters without at least having a idea of the layout." Although honestly? Kendrick wasn't that surprised at this point. The spy nodded his head. "I believe we're all supposed to at least be given a idea of where everything is, you know? That way if a master tells us to do something? We're not fumbling around in our attempt."

"No, not really. I just got led back to the Undercroft." Tours had hardly seemed like the most important thing to him at the time... it was wholly possible it'd been offered and refused in his state of confusion. A transfer, any kind, was still a lot to get used to. "Was I supposed to get one?"

The demon's lips quirked up as the other snapped at him, and the slave couldn't help but to bring a finger up and teasingly wag it in the other man's direction. "Tsk, tsk...Such a moody and bossy little thing, aren't you?" Kendrick asked with a chuckle before shrugging his shoulders. "I was just wondering what it was like. To suddenly be on the other side of the leash, big dog." Kendricks teased the other man just for shits and giggles. "You're not letting the power go to your head, are you?"

It wasn't an easy transition back to the castle, back to belonging to it in a sense. He wasn't a slave anymore, but that didn't make this any easier to maneuver. He was on his own once more, abandoned much like he had been the many times before. Why he thought this would be different he didn't know, lost in soft words and gentle touches that blinded him to his reality. At least now the dragon had something to keep him busy, his mind off of what was causing him such anguish. He used it to focus on his new job, who knew he would end up on the other side of things, instead of being in the undercroft as a resident he was put in charge of watching over it. "What are you staring for?" He snapped, a bit more harshly than he would have wanted, the eyes had been boring into him for a moment now which irked him greatly. "You're not going to get any help by staring at me."

Kendrick couldn't help but to snort. "I don't know what you were expecting me to say. That I go exploring at night and found some secret underground tunnels or something?" Kendrick asked sarcastically with a chuckle. Kendrick nodded his head at the other man's words. "Hell yeah. Although I don't want any tears from you when I whoop your ass." Kendrick said with a smirk.

Noah sighed. Nope, the other slave didn't have anything new to offer. Figured. "So all the same boring shit the rest of us are always doin'. Great." This conversation was quickly falling into the same category. Finishing his cigarette, Noah stubbed it out and looked at Kendrick again. "You a good swimmer? Guess we could race in the pool or somethin'."

Kendrick couldn't help but to laugh as the other man spoke about guessing that's why it's unspoken before he could even make one of his sassy remarks. "Exactly. See, you're already learning the ways young grasshopper." Kendrick said with a nod of his head and a smirk. Kendrick then nodded his head as he heard the other man's words. "Yeah man! There's a library in the castle. Did they not give you a brief tour when you were brought here?"

Kaj actually snorted. "I don't think I've heard of that one. Guess that's why it's unspoken, right?" Still, rule or not (and well... obviously it wasn't) he could appreciate that Kendrick had more experience with everything than he did. It was certainly useful to have someone to bring the occasional (maybe more than occasional) question to, too. "In the spirit of no stupid questions... you wouldn't happen to know where they keep all these books, would you?"

Kendrick nodded his head. "That's actually a unspoken rule around here," Kendrick whispered dramatically with a smirk. "Kendrick is always right. I'm super wise." Kendrick joked with a nod of his head. He managed to keep teh smile off of his face for all of two and a half seconds before he bursted into chuckles and shook his head. "Nah man, for real? Don't be afraid to ask me anything. We've all been newbies at one point or another. No such thing as a dumb question and all that cheesy shit."

"Free time," he repeated, shaking his head. It seemed like a misnomer. There was nothing actually free about it, save for a lapse in their obligations. Even then, Kaj still found it hard to believe that they allowed them to do anything at all. It was another point of adjustment that he would have to make, that there wasn't someone waiting with a knife to punish every moment of individuality he had. What didn't surprise him was that there were those that would take advantage of that mindset... or the circumstances in general. "I'd believe that," he admitted, exhaling through his nose. "I appreciate the heads up, just in case." He didn't know if he had the right to refuse, but if they weren't going to rent him, that was always possible. He could hope, at any rate. "I guess you're right, too. Don't really have too much to lose. Would waste some time, too."

Kendrick shrugged his shoulders. "Whatever I'm in the mood for that day." Not exactly the most helpful answer, Kendrick supposed. "Sometimes it's hitting the pool. Sometimes it's looking for a new book in the library. Sometimes it's just napping around." The demon listed with a chuckle and a shrug. "Whatever strikes my fancy that day."

Noah sighed and nodded. "Yeah, you're probably right. Just wish there was more to do down here." He settled in the nearest chair with a huff, smoking moodily, and looking at the other guy. He seemed kind of familiar, like he'd seen him around down here, but Noah didn't think they'd ever actually talked. "What do you usually do while you're waitin'?" Different slaves liked to do different things but there were still only the same things. Who knew? Maybe the other guy had come up with something different but Noah wasn't going to hold his breath for it.
