Okay, but, in the Pokémon AU, what Pokémon is cute enough for Gai to catch and immediately shove at Kakashi's face like "LOOK AT MY BABY"

A cutie Kakashi caught. To him, it's just a normal Pokémon, a reliable friend and member of the team. Then Gai sees it and goes ballistic because IT'S TOO CUTE

A cute Pokemon that Gai catches i think would be elekid, which leads him tot hat Elektavire that can use fighting moves and is part of his gym team

But another solid option is probably mareep. It’s a fluffy sheep and it is adorable and he will LOVE IT.

As such, Mareep could also be the one Kakashi caught that Gai’s shoving his face into screaming about how cute it is and how much he wants to snuggle it

But if we want a different one i’d say rockruff. I think gai would love a good boy XD

If we want none Kakashi-esc Pokemon i do 100% think Kakashi catches a rowlette purely because it’s adorable and vice versa Gai catches a hoothoot for the same reason, but that might just be my love for owl’s XD

Pokemon Au

Kakashi and Gai find their way to the isle of Armor where they end up joining the Dojo. The two of them are separated from other students since they are gym leaders, but still put through the same trials

Which immediately becomes a competition.

They both pass each trail, but they handle them all so vastly differntly

Kakashi waits patiently for the fast slowpokes and learns their paths, and then stands in the way so they run into him.

Gai chases after each of them laughing and having by the time of his life, and triumphantly jumps for them when he’s close enough, forcing them to a stop.

When they go looking for max mushrooms Kakashi does research and explores every area.

Gai run’s around with a picture in hand and fights/catches every pokemon he runs into on the way.

And then the final trail arrives. A battle between the two rivals.

Both of them are excited and they promise to give it their all, just as they always do.

And it is a fantastic battle. Every single one of the Dojo’s student’s show up to watch as the two of them battle it out, and when it comes to dynamaxing/giganamaxing they each make sure to pick their top pokemon for the power boost

Gai gigantamaxis his old friend Machamp, who has just drabk max soup to gain this ability. It is a brilliant view and Gai has never been so excited to see his machamp head into battle

While Gai chooses to gigantamax an old friend who has been with him for years, Kakashi chooses a new friend. The toxtricity that evolved from Toxel while he was doing these trials.

Both pokemon look terrifying but only one can win.

Ultimatly, that one is Gai. He pulled ahead, and his bond with his Machamp was much stronger, allowing him to defeat his eternal rival after a long battle.

His reward for this victory is not just bragging rights, but a beautiful new Pokemon. one that fits him perfectly.

A kubfu, which Leads Gai down another interesting adventure to bond with his new friend and help it find its path to a new evolution

Museum pet peeve of the day: asking random trivia questions. Either on a tour on on social media. "Who knows what year was X built?" "What does this contraption do?"

It's fine if you're framing it as a "are you a fan of this thing, test your knowledge with a quiz" (one of my favorites did this today) but so often it's just following the letter of the "be interactive" law without following the spirit.

Either you know the answer, and feel superior, or you don't, and feel like an idiot because you think you should have known.

If you're going to actually engage with your audience, you need to give them the opportunity for actual feedback and discussion, dangit. Ask them their opinion about something. Ask them how they feel about a scenario. Ask them if they have any experiences that mirror what you're talking about. Ask them something that will encourage them to do something besides reciting some factoid they remember from elementary school.

Before they leave for the Galar region Gai and Kakashi decide that they need to introduce Bee to a very important pokemon.

Tentacool and tentacruel.

It’s not an octopus but they’re pretty sure Bee will still love the pokemon, and they’re right! Bee takes one look at the lil jellyfish like Pokemon and immidiatly needs it. This will be the first (and maybe only? He still has to decide) Kanto pokemon he catches and he can’t wait to introduce it to his Brother.
