Yesterday I made a FB/insta post about “fuck your toxic positivity” because both my wife and myself were getting hit with it left and right as we went through trial after trial in our lives. She had made a video and then I followed with my own post. One of her sisters screenshot my post and sent it to my wife’s twin (who I have blocked on everything because she’s a fucking psycho) and it turned into a whole thing, of course. The fun part is that each sister talked to my wife or each other after the fact and unloaded that they were offended because they each rely on positivity to keep going and then unleashed some dark truths about how bad their mental health actually is - FURTHER PROVING HIW TOXIC THEIR POSITIVITY WAS PARTICULARLY TO THEMSELVES. One of my bosses asked me if I’ve tried medication yesterday.. because I was extremely upset.. because another one of my managers is making everyone feel uncomfortable and unappreciated.. but you know, I’m the problem for being sooo emotional. I’m only crying so hard because I’m so pissed off and no one listens even when I finally speak up. “She’s just stressed out” so ARE WE ALL but my neurodivergent ass can’t handle the stress of too much work (because boss man doesn’t want to spend money to ire more staff) and then also be expected to deal with shitty managers on top of it. “Have you tried meds” bitch the last time I felt like this I ended up in a mental hospital. Of course I’ve tried meds, they either do nothing or make me worse. Eat my whole ass and don’t let your managers be fucking bullies.. but yes tell me to try being less eMoTiOnAl.
