" The owner's sister! Also a very good friend of my brother here, she's and her family basically are adopted to ours in a way! " The young man said, noticing she might be struggling to remember where she heard the name. " He took over some time ago presentially, if I remember right. Though he does at moments check up on his son and help in the kitchen along their mother "
" That's correct, and thank you as well, m'lady. And you have yet to see the shore? Oh, that should be seen to soon. " The elder sibling comented with a chuckle at both, eyebrow lightly risen towards her. half lidded eyes curiously taking in her sight, clearly caught in interest though politely keeping distance. " Mayhaps next month or so, I heard the sea faring families will resume their old traditional festivities to the ocean... Quite fun fairs happen upon those days, and some families even gift little sea trinkets. "
" Yup! I got last time I got some neat carved bones from seals! " Calim commented with eager desire to recount some things. " You should get to visit them! and kinda? the volcano occasionally spews some fumes but it is pretty tame for one right by the sea, I've heard people sometimes go there and get some nice gemstones from old volcanic caves n some of the warm springs nearby brother's sword gemtones hail from it actually, that one and Mount Ebott, which close to our home! Did you know Ebott is also a volcano? because it is! we also have springs too, but they are muddier than the ones by the shores, those are pretty clear on their waters... and less smellier, ours are kinda smelly, the ground water doesn't clean them as much by our home as does the beach... "
" Now now, little brother, you will spoil all our land's sights and bounties that way " the older man says, before ruffling the younger adult's hair with a chuckle and a light puting protest. " But yes... The volcano is quite alive, I would say... and making for its dormant sibblings too... Ebott is... quite tame, despite explorers having found a vast chamber of magma beneath it quite close to the surface. Mayhaps I could arrange a tour to such places, if you would like... I happen to be the son of the lord by Ebott's mount, a few hours away by a steady pace riding... a day or so by foot from this town... Ah! but where are my manners, my lady, allow me to introduce myself, if you would allow: "
The man gently bows with his head as a polite greeting, followed in suit by the other's.
" Agarwaneor Fenum'niel, at your service and all travelers and tourists of our beloved lands. " The man finally says, introducing himself, then gesturing with a warm endering smile at his brother. " And this little young spark is my brother... "
" Calimehtamir Fenum'niel, a pleasure to make your acquaintance, M'lady! " He quickly continues his brother's words, body almost bouncing from the anticipation to introduce himself. " May we know your name? If it is not much to ask? "
Jig & Swig
Spring had sprung, and each day brought one closer to summer. With the slow growth of warmth between days of wind and rain had this small region in a especially festive mood. It was a festival where all came together and celebrated the new growth.
Such a festival had the tavern bustling and in need of help. Luckily, a certain helpful hand was traveling through just before the festivities began. Tall snowy tipped midnight rabbit ears heard the desperate sighs and happily offered her aid, her only price a small room for rest and food. An offer eagerly taken after the young foreigner reassured them alcohol was not on the table.
And so the demi-human rabbit took up an apron over her monk-ish attire and helped prep the meals during the day and server the growing crowd in the evening. It was obvious she wasn't from the region from her traveler like attire, unusual white speckled like freckles and her way of speaking. She spoke in a very formal manner, not noble formal, but as if it was a second language.
Black as night hair pulled up nicely in little buns below each ear, a calm green on the back of her head and the kindest smile crinkled her soft sky blue eyes.
"Welcome, would you like a drink or food?" She greeted the new guest(s) with a small wave and beaming smile.

" Sometimes... I wonder "
Tumblr media
" If I strayed... if I became the very things I fought against... would anyone see the dying embers before the light went out? Or would they go quietly into the dark, with naught an ear to listen? "
" I know the answer to it... It wouldn't matter, would it? most would be helpless by then, and those who were not... I would betray, one way or another. Why or how? I know not... only I am fated to do so... Whether I want to or not, It is our doom, our curse, our damning mark no matter what... "

Ah...
Spring festivals, how did the two brothers love the time of the year. The scents of the forest giving way from the easing smell of petrichor into the subtle and bold smells of growing flowers, the pleasant coming scents of crops readying for bees to explore, the luscious fields with tall grass... all lovely honored by all towns and locals alike in varying ways, be they lowborn or highborn... a precious moment of respite to the hardships of daily life most sane enough agreed to not tarnish unless drunken stupor ailed their minds.
It was a perfect time to stroll for the pair, to pay their respects to artisans, farmers and rural craftsmen and craftswomen. To spend time unabashedly and as loosely as they wanted, without the highborn pestering them for frolicking too much with them. Most fit for them to make new contacts, and to rekindle friendships made... if not help others by being the charitable souls they loved being, by either funding farmers or buying their goods eagerly...
Today, thought, they would focus on meager festival activities and relax properly. No business mixed with simple trivial pleasantries of banal origin, no. Today they were to enjoy local cuisine and drinks, play along those friendly enough... and may Agar could hook his brother into making new friends, and maybe a new couple of eyes to keep the younger sibling's back protected.
That mindset ingrained, the elder brother slowly opened the door to Gilrin's family inn. Greeting the sounds with warm friendly smiles as they waved to the owner, a little more than busy thanks to the influx of travelers and tourists looking for places to stay.
Sitting by the table, they began to chat for a bit while they awaited for the waitress. Speaking to one another eagerly to further talk about tales of their latest happenings, the eldest looking happily amused by the little chaos brought into their family's life in his stead and name, if not endeared in the sight of his energetic and eager brother's recounting of the happenings. Only pulled off them by the sound of a foreign voice, which her turned towards with a pleased surprise...
" Yes please, festive drinks and food... " The red eyed man said politely, his calm smile welcoming the person with a gentle and subtle nod. " Tell the owner we'd like to taste what Gilrin suggested for this year, if he has any dishes of it left, he will know. "
" Ooh, that's a pretty accent and attire " Calim said, eager to establish friendly talk with the bunny eared woman, a similar grin in his face to that of the lady. Earning a chuckle from his brother... ah, the family bluntness never disappointed, or its smoothness... in a way, even if Calimehtamir was yet to realize his incidental flirt. " Do you like it so far in this town? have you been to the shore port? it is a pretty sight with the distant volcano, and the water's waves are pretty tame there thanks to it! "

Well... drat...
Agar was quick to cast a short-lived spell, fast enough to just about dodge the fist himself and have Thanneth move off the way of the woman's charging figure, hmmm his timming could be better. Her face smirking smuggly towards him with a knowing expression he couldn't help but roll his eyes towards, merely gesturing her to pick the woman's weapons and put them outside.
" Told you " She voiced, and he sighed. God, she may be her sister in all but blood, but damn it can she be a bitch. " Right for the face too. "
" shut upp... "
The blue eyed mage just amusedly huffed, before moving for the weapons and gear whilst. then tossing them by the door with a nonchalant hum as she turned to the guys at the tavern, god did it look like a mess.
" Lend me a hand will you? " She motioned, to which he nodded as he lend his own magic into the spell she began to weave. Soon enough several ethereal daggers set all the people souls down in a blue haze. Or so it would do, once time resumed normally. " Good, that should make it last even if we are busy with her, now my gold? "
" Here. "
" 15 gold coins, hm? You never learn, do you? "
His focus goes back to the woman, before returning to Thanneth with a gesture to get going. To which she nodded. Tavern people set in place, he punched the nearby tavern's window to exit the building comfortably. But not before setting the jug comfortably with a decent amount of gemstones and gold coins for the owner, a means to pay for the grievances given, and perhaps some appeasement to not seek the authorities on the matter later.
They take their moment then, to quickly set protective spells around nearby buildings. It wouldn't be long before the time spell finished its lapse. He turned to Thanneth one last time, and she nodded, setting spells over nearby civilians to be dragged into any crevice for shelter and cover with the snap of her fingers.
" Ready, sister? "
" As usual. "
And so time began resume at its usual speed... with them watching people be dragged around as they summoned their weapons and helmets. How long would it take for the foreigner to notice her weapons outside and on the ground?
" five silver coins she takes seconds to notice? "
" I say immediately. "

Dancing by the blade to a tavern's tune.
They've been hearing several complains as of late...
All coming from the same person, they learned soon enough after a few tiring and hasty travels. Each recounting always speaking of a person with the same traits and clothes, or if not then similar in designs, and an accent no doubt from outside their lands...
Normally, they wouldn't even bat an eye...
But blood had been shed, of several people, and often with witnesses being no wiser as to why. And though they knew why, they couldn't help but see the guest in their kingdom was unusually reckless, in the way of handling bounty hunting and similar vigilante activities, a... concerning matter, specially given the unstable ground between the magical and non magical. Enough wrong steps would break the painfully kept peace they tried to hold, and let loose a war that, no doubt, would many people in the process. Something they couldn't afford to happen, not when there were many works to finish, things to correct and mend in their kingdom...
So an agreement was made, eventually. With Agar and Thanneth volunteering for the task. Unorthodox, mayhaps, and yet, neither could go without the other. Being opposite ends of the spectrum of concern, one had to balance out the other's whims and ways. Something both agreed to annoyed groans, but understanding minds that knew their flaws and strengths, if not the wisdom of others.
" This should be the place, if my informants are right with our target's latest movements and directions given by travelers. "
" So it would seem… want to pass over the plan, again? "
" We enter, you try your friendly nonsense, disarm the idiot into compliance and proper education on how to be a bounty hunter " The blond woman says, shaking her head. Arms crossed as she makes a quick gesture to change attires, and soon enough dispelled is her formal attire, replaced with an expertly decorated dark armor of intricate designs and patterns. " Failure to do it, we simply take her prisoner over public endangerment by reckless destructive bounty hunting without the licenses on foreign land and disruption of the several laws for both magical and non-magical activities, as well as potetial dirruption of the relationship of magic and civilians. "
" Sounds about like the usual... you want to bet which one is more likely to work? " The man questions with an amused smile " My charming nonsense and persona? or your idea to brute your authority over her by threat of being charged crimes? "
" I don't think it is needed " She snorts, shaking her head. " But... I would wager about five gold coins your's will fail, with a punch to your face and a kick on your balls. "
There is a sound, arguing, then glass shattering.
" Shall we? "
Thanneth nods, pushing the door open. Agarwaenor entering and narrowly dodging and catching a flying empty jug, eyebrow lightly rising in amused surprise. Now this brought back memories. The red eyed man chuckles, shaking his head before taking a deep breath and raising his voice over the ruckus.
" Golly golly! All parties calm down! We don't want to ruin our precious drinks graciously given at this fine establishment don't we? Absolutely terrible to lose the booze! "

Bellegur Anka'khul [The prince, the doomed heir, Green barrier mage] Soul trait: Kindness [Green soul] Profession: Kingdom monster-relationships ambassador, prince, warlord mage, High Council mage, sovereign in formation Height: 6'5 feets aprox Age: roughly between 35 and 42 years old Blood relatives: Alnaugur[father], Leriandor[mother], Alador[younger brother], Aderon [uncle]
Before he was the king of ashes, he was once called bellegur...
The son of the king and queen of his kingdom, Bellegur was born to the highest class: royalty. And with it came a lengthy period of formation both as a mage and prince. His were, once, the way of kindness, like his soul. courteous and polite to a fault, a calm and mostly passive demeanor, an unusual contrasting sight in comparison to his subjects, more often than not, he was...
And a fitting one, for, before declaring war, he, once advocated for peace with monsterkind... as his father's envoy to seek peaceful relationships...
Agarwaneor Fenum'niel [The prince's right and left hand, Red barrier mage] Soul trait: Determination [Red soul] Profession: Kingdom monster-relationships ambassador assistant, town lord, merchant affair's overseer, warlord mage, High council mage, local man-whore, trouble maker, prankster, fool Height: 6'0 feet aprox Age: roughly between 35 and 42 years old [centuries] Blood relatives: Elodarn [father], Eresmea [mother], Ner'edor [younger brother], Mo'rodos [younger brother], Caliimehtamir [youngest brother]
One of the most curious members of the seven...
Son of an ancient noble house, rooted deeply in the magic. He once was one of the strongest advocates for peace to monsterkind, alongside prince Bellegur. Though his were more... odd manners of approach to the matter he tasked himself with.
once he was known for his charming, if not daring, persona. Light in mood and certainly devious on a playful manner... sometimes too playful some would say. He was amongst one of the only nobles and houses to welcome and aid monsterkind...
Or so he was, until he wasn't.
Braigon Hath'lon [The old veteran, the prince's guardian, Purple barrier mage] Soul trait: Perseverance [purple soul] Profession: Retired veteran army general, war mage tutor/mentor, High council mage, Retired warlord mage Height: 6'9-7'1 aprox Age: roughly between 80 and 95 years old Blood relatives: TBN, deceased
The oldest of the legendary infamous seven...
His was an ancient house as well, deeply loyal and fierce. Of strict and stern ways, yet gentle and kind in spite of harshness against magic. His was a way of quiet kindness, though rough, persevering against the weathering of life and time...
For this, and his knowledge and experience, as well as skills, he was entrusted the royal heir as his apprentice, along five other children too troublesome to train by fellow mentors. Until they were old enough to make their own paths...
Gilrin Sair'ail [The young headmistress, the scholar, Cyan barrier mage] Soul trait: Patience [cyan soul] Profession: Magic academy Headmaster/headmistress; magic spell, enchantment, incantation, runes and theory research. Magic research supervisor, High council mage, warlord mage Height: 6'8-6'9 aprox Age: roughly between 35 and 42 years old Blood relatives:
One of the most known of the seven...
Her was a tale of greatness, as much as dismay and grief. Born of a simple low family, hers is a table of rising from the lowest to the peak of the mount, through patience and perseverance unbent. Hers was a humble way, however. Amicable to a fault, a lesson deeply ingrained as daughter to inn keepers and farmers... few could say she was anything if not friendly... though some would admit she did kind of become at times a little... pushy, about her perspectives...
Of her little remained after the war, but those who knew her truly, could only agree her students would grieve her loss. For few minds like her were born before, or after, that could rival her sharpness in mind, softness in heart, and virtue... a genius the would would forever resent its fall from grace...
Of them, monsterkind would grieve her fall from grace the most...
Thanneth Imelin'mah [The watchful sentinel, Blue barrier mage] Soul trait: Integrity [blue soul] Profession: High council mage, alchemist, potion maker, kingdom's public integrity and safety ministrum, tutor/mentor of magical concoction crafts, warlord mage Height: 6'3 aprox Age: roughly between 35 and 42 years old Blood relatives:
Amongst the most infamous of the seven, besides The king of ashes, the red dragon, and the Ruthless bloody lion.
Hers is a tale of a woman of hard ways, harsh and relentless. Though not devoid of heart, those close would say. Of a hard uprising of abandonment and struggling grievances, hers is a scarred soul and mind, they would say. Though few could ever tell, for she secretive was with all but the other members of the seven and few familiars of them, ever on the defensive otherwise...
For this, she was left the task to watch over monsters in their kingdom. For, unlike a vast number of her group, she was far more skeptical...
A task that she is quite known to be the most known for in her ruthlessness, as well as her temper.
Rhowën Faylahn [The young judge, the friendly scales, Yellow barrier mage] Soul trait: Justice [yellow/golden soul] Profession: Judge, bounty hunter, vigilante, guard, warlord mage, escort, patrol, local human cryptid/gremlin, High council mage Height: 6'2 aprox Age: roughly between 35 and 42 years old [centuries] Blood relatives:
Once a bright virtuous soul, even if a bit naive...
born of servants, his was a humble way, even as he rose to a Judge's charge and duty. Just as his soul trait, his was once a way of mercy, of kindness and solace against the dark times he was born and raised into...
A rare sight, and one greatly grieved once it left... for once it did, no candle could light the dark times to come. Nor any deed could undo the unjust crimes and madness that came after and alongside it.
For a heart of gold turned to stone and coal is a terrible thing, and to be a soul of virtue on a world of vice madness waiting to be...
Thannor Veryanex [The fierce smith, the roaring beast, Orange barrier mage] Soul trait: Bravery [orange/copper soul] Profession: Blacksmith, Magismith, Warlord mage, High council mage Height: 6'2 aprox Age: roughly between 35 and 42 years old Blood relatives: Heralies [father], Minermil [mother], Helios [ brother]
A hard man, but of skill almost unmatched...
His was a life of hardships, hostile and cruel. Only comforted and kept from madness of pain and abandonment by the other six mages. His is the way of his craft, hard and resilient. Intolerant of all flaw and imperfections...
And especially, intolerant of anything that wasn't human...
Secondary muses
Khulgul Alnaugur Anka'khul [The king, Father of Alador and Bellegur ] Soul trait: Animosity [ Corrupted kindness and Justice soul vice mix, dark green yellow soul.] Profession: Realm sovereign, King, armed forces leader. father Height: 5'9 aprox Age: roughly 60 years old Blood relatives: TBN parents, deceased ; Bellegur [son, heir], Alador [son]
The sovereign before the war, father of the king of ashes... and the damning stone to set terrible history for both humanity and monsterkind alike...
His are ways of stern manners, polite and yet... cold. devoid of all the warmth his wife of children bear. Though not lacking of courteous ways. For how can a king rule without manners? with quite the hassles and issues, he would respond...
Alador Anka'khul [The second son prince, the prince's shadow, Bellegur's younger brother, the forsaken crown] Soul trait: Diligence [pale aquamarine soul; Patience and Kindness mixed soul] Profession: prince Height: 6'4 aprox Age: roughly 24 years old Blood relatives: Alnaugur[father] , Leriandor [mother], Bellegur [older brother]
A tragic man and prince is his tale...
Child of royalty, brother to the crown. Once he was known for his closeness to his elder sibling, whom he deeply idolized and looked after in every ambit he could, whilst keeping true to his parents and mentors lessons to not let dreams become unrealistic...
He was, before the war, known for his quiet awkwardness. Though not unfriendly and well meaning. And his mirroring image of his elder by sticking besides Agarwaenor's youngest sibling, Calimehtamir...
Or so it was once... before the war torn his family, and everyone he knew, apart. And left him and Calim to pick up what was left...
Calimehtamir Fenu'niel [The young knight, the promising last son, Agarwaneor 's younger brother] Soul trait: Persistence/Determination [ light-red soul] Profession: ???? Height: 6'5 aprox Age: roughly 23 years old Blood relatives: Elodarn [father], Eresmea [mother], Ner'edor [older brother]], Mo'rodos [older brother], Agarwaenor [ eldest brother]]
A victim of history which few know of...
The infamous red dragon's sibling, his was a story long lost to most annals of time. Though, once, he was said to be mirror to his brother's past... once. With a soft and caring heart, a passion matched by few, and a certain endearing awkwardness only youth could ever bear. A child of hope, some said he was to be...
A child of hope that was, one day, much like his brother.... lost.
Yseldeir ???? [Imelin'mah] [The young apprentice, unofficial heir, pupil of Gilrin ] Soul trait: Compassion [bright mint colored soul; Patience and Kindness mixed soul] Profession: Headmistress assistant, headmistress unofficial apprentice, war mage in formation Height: 5'9 aprox Age: roughly between 20 and 25 years old Blood relatives: Neridimar [father], ???? [Mother]
A lost wandering soul, some say she became...
but before that, she was next in line to the brightness of her mentor in all but age and experience. With a mind sharper than a freshly done blade, she was eager to learn from no other than Gilrin. Who was all too eager to take the troublesome child in her innocent early years, as an assistant... then student and, some say, maybe a child of her own... gifting her a home she never knew as an orphan...
Her heart was said to be as patient and kind as the prince and the headmistress, with a touch of her own little quirks and ways. Of manners polished as the most precious gem, and a heart as noble as the one she looked after...
Her's was a loss the world deeply grieved, for with her, the legacy of her mentor was truly lost forever in all but legends...
Nar'osul Draelios [The sentinel's eyes, the guard, Employee of Thanneth ] Soul trait: Integrity [Blue soul] Profession: Spy, guard, warden and war mage in training Height: 5'7 aprox Age: roughly between 20 and 25 years old Blood relatives: Jhoef [Father, deceased] , Ilaine [Mother, deceased]
A herding dog, some would call him...
A stern guardian, quiet and, sometimes, a bit cold. A man devoted mostly to his job, and a guardian his job was. A job that left little space to do anything frivolous, or give space for any distractions for the most of it...
Though those who managed to pull hi of this, would beg to differ...
Or so they used to do so...
Arqueno Idenia [The friendly neighbor, unseeming spy, employee of Agarwaneor ] Soul trait: Inquisition [Lime/green-yellow soul; Justice, Integrity and Kindness mixed soul] Profession: Spy, guardian, warden, Bodyguard, uncle figure, servant, thief, informant, etc... Height: 5'5 Age: roughly 50 years old Blood relatives: TBN, deceased
A man of several faces...
A friend, a spy, a guardian, a warden, an uncle figure, a loyal servant, a thief with a honor code. Many words once described him in life. But most agreed on one thing, he was your ever friendly, helpful and caring neighbor. Regardless of all, be it his job or not...
Maybe because of this, he was as good as his job as he used to be. For you never knew where lies and a good natured soul were drawn.
Nanbarwen Nul'emil [The curious mind, amateur smith and warrior, friend of Yseldeir ] Soul trait: Determination? [red soul, orange mixed soul] Profession: War mage in formation, amateur magic artisan Height: 5'7 Age: roughly between 20 and 25 years old Blood relatives: TBN, deceased
Some say curiosity killed the cat, she used to say it made the cat feel alive...
An inquisitive woman she was, before the war. a woman spoken to be a charming, if not witty, company to have. A balanced mix of traits beheld their home within this woman. From a soft and gentle nature, to a charming sassing persona not afraid to voice herself. Traits few wouldn't mistake for the trait of her soul as Bravery...
Something that, maybe, would explain her ways. For not long after finishing her formation as a soldier, so did she quickly take in another profession as an amateur smith studying a certain Famous, or infamous, smith... and maybe partly of the reason she remained strongly tied to no less than the Headmistress Gilrin's heir, Yseldeir...
Unfortunately such would not save her from history's price...
Coming soon/next:....
