the story mode in splatoon 1 has so much potential for being interpreted as an allegory for military recruitment (the player character is a young teenager with no money that is offered rewards and benefits by an old man for risking their life by fighting a race war that is largely based on prejudice rather than necessity) but the game itself is just ^_^ hehe funny tutorial! just learn the ropes and get some cool cosmetic rewards and a bit of lore. for funsies! squid

In Yoshi's Island, collecting an egg carried by a Little Mouser enemy without defeating it gives Yoshi an extremely glitched object called a "Null Egg", which executes random code when thrown. This usually causes the game to crash, but can lead to any of a number of possible glitch effects.

One effect of throwing the Null Egg in certain boss battles is that the boss may lose its shape and briefly reveal its original cone form (appearing distorted, but still recognizable in the screenshot) that it has before being subjected to a script that shapes it into its intended form. I uploaded every Splatoon OST

A while ago I made a post where I shared my rip of the Splatoon 3 OST, and I decided to also upload rips off all the Splatoon CD’s that were released in Japan, which I just finished!

You can download it here from this Drive

In addtion to the rip of Splatoon 3′s OST, that’s CD rips of Splatune, Splatune 2, Octotune, Splatoon Live in Makuhari and Splatoon 2 Live in Makuhari.

These rips have all been uploaded as flacs, so you’ll get the highest possible quality from how the music is found in the game files or on the CD.

I also tagged all of the music and added the respective cover art so it looks neat as well! I also went back to the Splatoon 3 OST upload to add tags and improve the order of the tracks for the Hero Mode music.

Splatune had already been tagged by @kerfuzzle_ who later recommended the Metatogger software to me, which is a super neat tool to tag music. I went and tagged the rest of the albums, and added the composers to Splatune.

I uploaded the Splatoon 3 Side Order OST

I just added the Side Order OST to my Splatoon 3 OST game rip which you can look up here

As always these are direct rips from the game, converted to flac and normalized.

This rip also includes the overworld and tower foyer tracks which had to be recorded in-game since these tracks are not stored as music files but rather - from what I understand - the game mixes these tracks live by having each instrument emit its sound from the visual elements that represent the sound.

To make it special I recorded these tracks in surround sound and then tried mixing these channels with a spatial audio mixing tool to emulate the "3D" effect from each instrument playing from a different location. (Mind you I'm not super experienced with mixing like that so it might not be optimal)

Edit: I am very stupid and was looking only in the folder within the game files that had the Jukebox versions of the music and not the folder with actual Side Order data. That would be the place where the Elevator tracks between floors would be, which I completely forgot here. I'm gonna add these soon. It's also likely the different segments of the hubworld and foyer tracks are there.
