Once a Woodscout, Always a Woodscout A single hand rested on the Woodscout's chin as he contemplated the chalkboard as Edward prattled on about taking over Camp Campbell after all, they already defeated the Flowerscouts so, all that was left in their plans was to take over their rival camp. All of their plans thus far have been complete failures, even the one time they had won had been considered a fail as they ended up with the worst camper instead of the best. "Well, we can always-" Interrupted, Edward stopped Snake before he could even finish the sentence with a simple "We're aren't killing anyone!" followed with a frustrated groan which left Snake grumbling, blue eye flickering down to his feet as he kicked at the dirt beneath them. What else was the troop supposed to do? At this point, Snake was begging for an interruption from their meeting as they were getting no where with it.

Droplets of sweat trickled down the Woodscout's forehead, while his heart thumped swiftly against his chest, though, it felt good as Snake stood near his fellow troop members as they had just completed their morning drills. Of course, many scouts would beg to differ, as some of the newest recruits laid upon the dirt floor, wheezing and gasping for precious oxygen while attempting to keep their breakfast down... To them, the Woodscouts was hell, but to Snake, it was home for the next three months. As Snake stood among Edward and Petrol, the two scouts easily towering over him with their tall statures, from the corner of those azure eyes did a somewhat familiar face invade his line of sight. Locks of dirty blonde and light blue eyes reminded him of the twos run in over at Camp Campbell and Snake couldn't help, but be curious as to why the male was now here in the Woodscouts turf. Though, it wasn't as if Snake could just abandon his troop and wonder off on his own accord... In a few minutes, Edward was hosting a little meeting, the usual of how to take over Campbell and plans for future popcorn sale strategies. Snapping his attention back to Edward, the male indicating it was time for their "meeting", Snake shoved aside the curiosity as why Jasper lurked on the compounds and focused on Edward instead, falling the red head instead.
Once a Woodscout, Always a Woodscout
Jasper took in a deep breath as he gazed upon the familiar sights of his old stomping grounds. It was good to be back, and honestly? He had missed teaching and sharing his skills with others who would learn to appreciate what he had taught them since it could very well save their life if something were to ever happen.
Making his way to the Captain’s Tent, he paused outside of it. His gaze falling on a troop, well rather a particular scout that he had spoken with before. Shaking his head, he moved the curtain out of his way before going to speak with the Captain about what troop would be under his eye and guidance.. He would get the chance to speak with the other later.

@dcfctive ll p r e v Removed from his home just mere months after the death of his mother, Snake was just another kid in the system who honestly, wanted nothing more, then to be returned home. Even if his home life wasn't that substantial, it was still better, than some of the homes that the child had stayed with in the past. Of course, it wasn't all that helpful that Snake was prone to snap especially when one used his first name as it was prohibited from being uttered. The only person who was able to call Snake by that forbidden word had been his mother, but now she was laid to rest and Snake was left to be tossed from family to family until someone adopted him or he turned eighteen. The later was more likely to happen everyone and even Snake knew it himself that not a single soul wanted him... Or, so the child had thought because as of right now, he was trailing behind someone who was wanting to breaking that idea. The journey to the male's place of living was spent in silence, Snake knowing that at one point, the towel would be tossed in when the male realized that Snake wouldn't become the perfect child over night that he wouldn't be able to brag about 'saving' the child. No, this would be temporary like all of the other homes. Snapped from his thoughts with the male clearing his throat, the child peered into the apartment and sure, like the other had stated it wasn't much, but once again, Snake felt it would only be a temporary situation. Even so, the television would be nice, as Snake couldn't recall the last time he sat down and watched something, but the park left him scrunching his nose... More often, then not, Snake found himself alone, not many children liking his general presence. "I don't do parks." Snake muttered out towards the other, eyes narrowed as he glared at the floor while clutching the little book bag of belongs he had.

p r e v Acknowledgement was received from the blond standing before him, though the volume of his voice was a bit of an astonishment as it wasn't the usual bellow of a Drill Sergeant. Nonetheless, the tone was still commanding, still demanding for respect and dared anyone to even attempt to utter a single phrase or even movement of disrespect, but the Woodscout made no moves in defiance. No, Snake knew better, than to act in such a manner as his entire life or well his entire life after the passing of his mother was an endless boot camp. Each order given from his father was listened to without question even if the man's presence wasn't even around, it was just how things were in the Nikssilp household. "Yes sir!" Promptly, the Woodscout responded to his Drill Sergeant though, if Snake could think honestly, the idea of not following orders dished out from Edward, the patrol leader of their little platoon felt a bit bizarre. Though, it didn't matter what his thoughts or opinions were on the matter, Edward's reign had come to an end and troop eight hundred & eighteen was listening to a Drill Sergeant. Arm still raised in a stiff salute, muscles tense as the Woodscout refused to relax, the words at ease never fell from the Drill Sergeant's mouth, though an inquiry about the his name did come out next. An inquiry that the Woodscout loathed because it left him wondering, if he should dare he utter his first name that left him with a blind rage, willing to stab anyone with that candy cane shiv if uttered in his direction or the nickname, the one that didn't leave him with such vexation. Would punishment befell upon him for answering the request with his nickname instead of his birth name, though it wasn't as if the Drill Sergeant requested for his birth name. "Snake, sir. It's Snake." Taking a chance, the Woodscout responded with the nickname everyone used around him, the nickname that didn't leave someone with a candy cane shiv sticking out from one of their body parts. Typically well behaved, this was Snake's downfall, the only part of him that didn't care who was on the receiving end of his brutal attack, no one and that meant no one was allowed to speak of his first name.

Azure eye flickered down to the paper underneath the Woodscout, it seemed these little love letters would have to be pushed off for a little while as his answer to Cir's inquiries still left the Campbell camper confused. Flipping the paper over onto the back and setting them aside, Snake's focused flickered over to Cir once assured his papers wouldn't just fly away or be seen by anyone else. "I've never looked into why it was in February, but like most holidays it was probably because of something that happened like hundred of years ago." The Woodscout informed the other, as to him, it was just another one of those holidays that had been around and everyone just did it. No questions asked because that's what one was supposed to do, he supposed? Like Christmas or Easter, one just did it, not caring for the origins or anything. "Also, it doesn't have to be chocolate or flowers... I think they just use those because it's what girls are supposed to like or something. I don't know. I'm not giving mine chocolate or flowers." One of the reasons for such as Snake couldn't really afford to purchase such items for not one, but two individuals and the second being that it felt too easy... No, he wanted to do something different hence why chose little love letters as idiotic and cheesy as that sounded...
It wouldn’t matter if she saw or not, she couldn’t see what was on the paper. But she could remember a time at school where she got little cards and candy. Was that what the holiday was about? If so then why didn’t get more when she went back?
She assumed that it was because people hated her enough to ignore rules…or they were too scared to give them to her. Either way she didn’t care. It didn’t matter to her. It was a dumb holiday that she didn’t understand.
“ But why? I jus’…i don’ get it. Why february? Why flowers and chocolates and all that shit? “

p r e v. Wet, yet warm, the pink tongue that was dragged across the Woodscout's hand had Snake beaming towards the canine as it must mean the golden creature enjoyed his presence, no? Not only that, but it seemed the other was occupied with the phone as well so, Snake could allow himself to relax a bit, there wasn't a single soul here that would find it odd that Snake was acting like an actual child, one who had never had the pleasure of being close and personal with an animal. No, this moment would be kept in his mind and never spoken of, almost as if it had never happened to begin with. Too bad it all came to an end, with the whole sneezing incident and the scout's need for warmth or else he would have continued giving affection to the adorable little golden dog. Body shivering underneath the little pile of blankets and pillows, Snake found himself eavesdropping into the conversation between the male and the other person on the other line, already forgetting who the male had been claiming to call. Oh well, it wasn't as if that information was important to him anyway, but what was important was how the other reacted, something stating that the other person on the line had made a rude remark about his nickname... It wasn't as if Snake wasn't used to it, but it was a lot better, than someone calling him by his first. That was just unbearable. The rest of the conversation wasn't anything of interest, and ended as quickly as it had been started. Couch shifting, from the additional weight being added along with the fact that the golden canine bounced over to her temporary owner, eyes begging to be petted. It felt odd watching the interaction between the two, how much love and a bit of baby talk was involved in the conversation, something the scout wondered if that's how you were supposed to be with pets... He hadn't spoken when petting the dog, unsure of what to even say to it and could even understand him? Perhaps this was a good reason for him to not own a pet. After all, it wasn't as if he was overly affectionate with anything, the mere thought of acting like the other man in presence of others made him cringe. Clicking his tongue to the roof of his mouth, attempting to get the canine's attention, Snake's hand slowly crept out from the blankets, uncaring about his body temperatures as he would eventually warm up, right now, he wanted to pet the adorable canine some more... It wasn't like another opportunity like this would present itself again.

p r e v The Woodscout couldn't help, but nod in agreement with the statement especially considering how the freak of nature almost made their troop leader deaf by firing off a gun near Edward's ear. Who even allowed that man to own a gun? Wasn't there laws in place to ensure that freak didn't own a gun? Even so, azure eye followed the thumb from the extreme barbie, where a murder of crows flooded the air, their loud cawing could be heard from here and Snake couldn't help, but be reminded of a demon.. It would certainly explain a lot about Campbell's Quartermaster. A minute left to hide, the scout focused on finding a hiding spot though, there wasn't much in the area, but something would have to make due for now. Anything, really. Without a word, the scout darted and took cover behind a rock, it wasn't much, but the scout hoped it was good enough to keep him safe as the Quartermaster passed through. Being murdered today hadn't been on the agenda, but anything could happen at Camp Campbell...
Been a while.
