Hi! Do you have anyone in your life that inspire you for the writing? Like little things they do or say that ends up in the stories because that's just too great or without even thinking about it? Or should everything be invented? I'm a little scared to used real people as inspiration for writing.
Don't be scared! You can definitely draw inspiration from your surroundings. And, honestly, observing other people is a great way to create actually original characters that don't feel like copies of each other. We're all different. People have their unique quirks or catchphrases or mannerisms, and it's absolutely fine to be inspired by people you know in real life!
One of the most popular piece of writing advice out there is "write what you know". Some people take that to the extreme of "you should only write what you know" but that's ridiculous. There should be a balance between writing about we know and letting our imagination fly. ❤️

do you ever wonder if your choice of blorbo is random baby chick imprinting, or in fact a deep physiological profile that reveals all the things you need therapy for

i genuinely don't care how good a piece of ai generated art or writing looks on the surface. i don't care if it emulates brush strokes and metaphor in a way indistinguishable from those created by a person.
it is not the product of thoughtful creation. it offers no insights into the creator's life or viewpoint. it has no connection to a moment in time or a place or an attitude. it has no perspective. it has no value.
it's empty, it's hollow, and it exists only to generate clicks (and by extension, ad revenue.)
it's just another revolting symptom of the disease that is late stage capitalism, and it fucking sucks.

to you, it's a shitty sentence. to some random bitch 500 miles away, it's a fire line that'll haunt them for the next 17 years.
you don't know how impactful your writing is because it's been in your brain for far too long now. you've stared at it for hours and repeated "this sucks" over and over again to the point that you killed your capacity to feel anything about your work.
but trust me, once you get your shit out there, someone's gonna go over that paragraph you hate and go "jesus fucking christ" and put the book down to have an existential crisis.
