Maxi Valvona - Bonfires (Reimu Remix)

This is a remix of a track I used to spin awhile back.  Shocked that I listen to this remix earlier.  Normally I'm very put off by the inclusion of a piano in a dance track since it's usually quite cheesy, but the piano in this track is just so beautiful and reminds me of why I consider electronic music as my classical music 2.0.  In fact, listening to the entire Maxi Valvona: Bonfires EP [Particles] made me remember how heavenly this track was.

My fascination with this track is also a divergence from all the tracks I was into the second half of last year.  It seems like my musical tastes has run full circle from progressive -> tech house -> techno -> progressive.  Must be a sign of changing moods and DJ mixes.

To Be Decided: Celebration

Overall quite pleased with the entire mix.  Was a little hurried at the beginning with a few transitions which clashed a little bit.  Starting 40 min onwards, the mix gets pretty hot.  A lot of tracks from Parquet Recordings and Particles used as well.  I think this mix marks another transition of styles at least compared to last year.

Listened to this mix while studying last night.  Again one of the best mixes I've heard the past few days.  I think even better than the James Zabiela I posted the other day.  My body and head was just grooving in the library in the midst of everyone else.  Too good.

Overall quite pleased with the mix.  Tried out a lot of new stuff that did work.  I think I do have a problem of melding some tracks too much now to where there's too much going on.  Definitely need to watch that and also get familiar with the atmospheric prog side of things.
