I don’t care that RBG’s last words were “I hope I’m not replaced before a new president is installed” because she should’ve retired under the Democratic president if she cared so much about that happening lol.

i won’t celebrate her death with bottle popping but the only legacy she holds for me is another white woman who sold out once she got into power, tokenized her marginalized identities for political gain while calling others stupid and irrational for demanding rights for ourselves, and openly considered herself to be friends with scum like Scalia and at least friendly with Kavanaugh. she did not represent empowerment nor freedom or progress for me or any of the communities I hold space in. the liberal wanking over her as a celebrity figure they moulded after the infamy of Notorious BIG was one of the most annoying pieces of history to live through and i genuinely hope in her death maybe there’s some conversation about how having 1 woman in a room isn’t and has never been enough, and that maybe next time we find ourselves shouting #girlboss because there’s 1 woman doing something, we sooner ask “why is she the only one?” rather than heralding her for being there.
