Crochet your own Ghostface!
(Free pattern under cut)
Materials:
Worsted Black yarn (<1 skein)
Worsted White yarn (<1 skein)
3.75mm Crochet hook
Yarn needle, preferably curved
This pattern is made in pieces and sewn together later.
🔪Mask(white) (make 1)
Row 1: ch 4, sl to form a ring (do not magic ring, you want the hole in the middle)
Row 2: 8sc around the ring (the center hole is the nose)
Row 3: sc, ch7, skip 1, sl 2, ch9, skip 1, sl 2, ch7, sl
Row 4: sc 3 in one*, 4sc, ch1, turn your work
(this is a short row, your turn should be about halfway across one of the ch7s from the last row)
Row 5: sl back to start of previous row, then 4sc, ch1, turn work
(your turn should be about halfway across the other ch7)
Row 6: sl back to center, connect and ch1 as if starting a new row in the round
Row 7: sl around entire piece, increasing twice at the middle of the ch9 to shape the chin.
*It's like an increase with 3sc instead of 2
I didn't keep track of the stitch count for my rows, as long as it looks like the mask you're good 👍
🔪Head/body(black) (make 1)
I sl + ch1 to end every round/row but you can probably work in a spiral if you prefer.
Row 1: magic ring, 6sc (6)
Row 2: 6inc (12)
Row 3: sc, inc, repeat until end of row (18)
Row 4: 2sc, inc, repeat until end of row (24)
Row 5: 24sc (24)
Row 6: 24sc (24)
Row 7: 24sc (24)
Row 8: 2sc, dec, repeat until end of row (18)
Row 9: 18sc (18)
Row 10: sc, dec, repeat until end of row (12)
Row 11: 12sc (12)
Row 12: sc, inc, repeat until end of row (18)
Row 13: 2sc, inc, repeat until end of row (24)
Row 14: 24sc (24)
Row 15: 24sc (24)
Row 16: 24sc (24)
Row 17: 24sc (24)
Row 18: 24sc (24)
Row 19: 24sc (24)
Row 20: 24sc (24)
Row 21: 24sc (24)
Row 22: 2sc, dec, repeat until end of row (18)
Add stuffing.
Row 23: sc, dec, repeat until end of row (12)
Row 24: 6dec (6)
Sew the hole shut and you're done with this piece! :)
🔪Hood (black) (make 1)
Row 1: ch22, turn (21)
Row 2: 21sc, ch1, turn (21)
Row 3: sc, inc, 17sc, inc, sc, ch1, turn (23)
Row 4: sc, inc, 19sc, inc, sc, ch1, turn (25)
Row 5: sc, inc, 21sc, inc, sc (27)
This isn't a full hood(seems like a waste of yarn to make a full hood when the head is just plain black underneath anyways), the starting edge will be sewn across the vertical midline of the head, and the short sides to the shoulders/front of the body to frame the mask.
If you want a full hood that can be pulled up and down you could probably insert several(5ish?) rows of scs between rows 1 & 2 and then sew the back edge shut instead of to the head (have not tested this, not sure how good it'd look)
🔪Arms (black)(make 2)
Row 1: magic ring, 6sc (6)
Row 2: 6sc (6)
Row 3: 6sc (6)
Row 4: 1sc, ch7, 6sl into the chain, 5sc (6)
Row 5: 6sc (6)
Row 6: ch9, 8sl into chain, 6sc (6)
Row 7: 6sc (6)
Row 8: 5sc, ch11, 10sl into chain, 1sc (6)
Row 9: 6sc (6)
Row 10: 6sc (6)
Sew it shut! You can add stuffing if you want pudgy arms but I did not.
The end closest to the ch11 tassel is the hand.
Don't forget to make another one.
🔪Legs (black) (make 2)
Row 1: magic ring, 6sc (6)
Row 2: sc, 2inc, 3sc (8)
Row 3: 2dec, 4sc (6)
Row 4: 6sc (6)
Row 5: 6sc (6)
Row 6: 6sc (6)
Row 7: 6sc (6)
Row 8: 6sc (6)
Row 9: 6sc (6)
Row 10: 6sc (6)
Row 11: 6sc (6)
Sew it shut! Don't forget to make 2.
🔪Skirt (black)(make 1)
Starts with a magic circle but does not work in the round, you are making a half-circle!
Row 1: magic circle, 3sc, ch1, turn (3)
Row 2: 3inc, ch1, turn(6)
Row 3: 1sc, inc, repeat to end, ch1, turn (9)
Row 4: 2sc, inc, repeat to end, ch1, turn (12)
Row 5: 3sc, inc, repeat to end, ch1, turn (15)
Row 6: 4sc, inc, repeat to end, ch1, turn (18)
Row 7: 5sc, inc, repeat to end, ch1, turn (21)
Row 8: 6sc, inc, repeat to end, ch1, turn (24)
Row 9: 7sc, inc, repeat to end, ch1, turn (27)
Row 10: 8sc, inc, repeat to end, ch1, turn (30)
Row 11: 9sc, inc, repeat to end, ch1, turn (33)
Row 12: 10sc, inc, repeat to end, ch1, turn (36)
Row 13: 1sc, ch5, 4sl down the chain, 2sl, alternate between 5ch tassels and 2sls for the rest of the row, ch1
Finished! Like the hood this is not a full robe, it's just the bottom half and is meant to be sewn around the waist.
Assemble the pieces in whatever pose you desire :)
