You know I'm going to TMI this.

There's a PTH test missing... I don't know if they didn't do it or it's just not ready, yet.

You can see these are getting low but still within normal range for now, if barely.

She ordered 8 tests but there are only 6 results right now, though there were a bunch under the "basic metabolic panel" result and I think some of the ones in there (calcium was one for sure) were the other tests that seem to be missing other than the PTH.

Either way the page that was showing me what was ordered was taken down once the tests were done so I can't even see, now. I should have taken a screenshot.

I'm honestly surprised most of those numbers are well within the green considering how wonky my diet is in general.

Ahh found one of those fakie? clone? factory? Blythes at the thrift store for $7.99. I'm so happy. I have always wanted to find a real Blythe in the wild but this is the next best thing 'cause I've never seen the head/face in person and I was really wanting to.

Couldn't wait to get her in the car to have a proper look over.

She even has short green hair! Couldn't have picked better myself.

Wonder how she came to be here? Did someone get her for a kid who outgrew dolls? Or did someone get interested in the doll community and then lose interest?? A million scenarios.

Her body's a little grubby and wobbly but I'm shocked her face and hair are really great for being thrown around the thrift store process.

Having super anxiety over getting my blood drawn and there's no reason for that. I'm not even afraid of the process or anything.

I've been really anxious about this whole leg of the healthcare thing to the point I can't open my mouth because I've been clenching my jaw so hard for so long.

It's very easy to tell which of these don't have the overhead LED lights on just based on the overall color temperature, but looking at this, that overhead light really ISN'T doing much to dispel shadows.

Look at her ear.

A different light pushed more toward the front of the box would be better, I think.

I don't feel like buying lights and trying to find a way to rig them, though.

Anyway. I ought to shower. I have blood draws in a couple hours and my hair takes forever to dry. Need to cut it, too.

So, consistent lighting has been the main issue.

These two photos were taken a few minutes apart, all I did to the camera was unlpug the power pack and remove the SD card, then put both back in later.

This is a weird setup but I guess it's working now that I figured out how to remove the phone mount..... orz

I'm still terrified I'm going to knock over the tripod and destroy the camera, though. That's what happened to my last camera.

This is what I see when I go in that room, then I have to move all the way across the room to the light switch, right past the tripods.

There's a bit of a mess right now since I'm rearranging things.

Also pulled the lamps back a bit and tried without the top light but...

Not sure. Maybe if I can move the lamps up higher it'll be better.

Clicking through the photos I just took I am 100% moving the camera when I click the shutter button.

The blue overhead light (top of the light box, not the overhead room light. the overhead room lights are OFF) is causing problems.

Three sizes of pony without moving the camera, though.

But look how different the lighting seems between them. The lighting didn't change, either.

I think I need to use auto, see what the camera chose, then manually set the camera to those settings so it doesn't change them? Getting shit in focus will be hard, though.

Maybe I don't need that top light with the other camera.... ALL the lights need to be higher up I think.

I bless you with a cut... which may or may not work since I forgot to add it first.

Attempted the auto-white-balance on the left pics. Then used "I feel lucky" followed by auto-white balance on the right pics and they're... Almost.... but not quite the same. Thoughhhhh... I did use different auto-settings on the NEX in those photos. I need to use program auto, I think, and then adjust the exposure so it's not so dark and then never touch it again. I bet pushing the camera farther through the ring light would help, too.

if I try to select the neutral from a white-balance card up high, it gets very wrong. Everything turns yellow. I should try it lower, away from the blue lights.

The bottom center on the left set of pics is closest to to-the-eye, because the LED lights I have in there on top of the light box ARE very blue.

Benefits to having torn up my photo station to try this:

There is more room for taller subjects without having to move the camera.

I moved the camera back a little, and the pictures actually look like this:

I could raise the light and camera a little so the cake tray is cut off more, too. And I can't move back TOO far or the ring light doesn't cast a glow on the subject anymore.

Detriments:

I now have two tripods to manage

there is no remote click for the NEX and I tend to move it when I click it (haven't looked close to see if these are blurry or not...)

the camera is expensive and I am clumsy, so if I trip on the camera's power cord or bump the tripod trying to go through the pitch black room to get to the light switch and knock it over, I'm fucked, which means I still have to mount and unmount the camera which is part of the problem I've been having from the beginning

changing photo setups in the middle of a bunch of projects messes with the photo sets but it's not like there's a GOOD time to do that considering some ponies have been in progress for over a year, now..........

might have to put everything back together the way it was and idonwanna

The way the camera is mounted on THAT tripod is more stable and won't be completely different every time I need to move it (unless the whole tripod moves, which it might).

That background is just posterboard and not great for this purpose. I don't have a "real" photo background, only some plastic fake velvet sheets that are basically transparent and can't have the wrinkles pressed out anyway.

I think maybe I DO need some sandbags to stabilize the tripods.

Definitely need to find a way to mark the floor so I know where the tripod feet go. Maybe some painter's tape, though I don't really want to leave sticky stuff on the shitty laminate flooring.

Sacrifices.

Well. Might as well commit to tearing up and changing the whole setup a bit, I guess.

Do need less blue lights on top. Why are so many adjustable LEDs blue when set to white.

Same pony, different cameras, some time apart. This is why I don't mind when the mane curls are really tall, they do fall over time.

That won't fix the floppy connections for the phone mount and ring light, though.

Really, I don't NEED anything on that wishlist.

I could benefit from a few things like the lights for my painting area because I tend to hold stuff in my lap instead of on the table, but I do ok with the lamp I have. I could benefit from one of those worktables in the bathroom but I'm getting along without it ok.

There are just parts of this that I don't want to do, like the photography, while also wanting the lighting to stay consistent. I feel like the lighting changing like that is a misrepresentation of my work.

I bought the AC adapter for the camera years back so I don't have to worry about forgetting to charge the battery, but I don't know where I've put that and never used it...
