While serving as an aerovacuational medical technician with the US Air Force in the 1990s, Donald A. Hislop earned an associate of science in nursing from Florida Community College. He subsequently served 2 years as a staff RN with St. Vincent’s Hospital of Florida before assuming management duties as the administrative nursing supervisor with the Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas. Donald A. Hislop has remained in medical administration ever since, directing perioperative, surgical, and patient care services with several larger medical centers. He also returned twice to the academic arena, securing a bachelor of science in nursing in 2004 and a master of arts in organization management in 2012.
Since January of 2019, Donald Hislop has served as associate chief nursing officer of the Memorial Medical Center in Las Cruces, New Mexico. This position places him in charge of a wide variety of medical services, as well as the center’s ambulatory surgical and joint venture endoscopy centers. To inform his professional activities, Mr. Hislop holds active membership in both the American Association of Nurse Leaders and the New Mexico Association of Nurse Leaders.
