chapter three.
tw: alcohol consumption, suggestive
wc: 2.2k
p.o.v: olivia
After Mark pulled Lia away, I spotted a group of people, among them, a familiar face.
— Olivia, right? — She came up to me and asked.
— Yeah! Glad you remembered! Kaia, right? — I asked, smiling.
— Yup, that’s me! — She replied. — We’re playing some drinking games, if you’re interested…
— If I ever say no to that…
There were about five people in our little drinking group, and sitting across me, probably the most handsome guy I’d ever seen. I think he said his name was Hendery or something, but I couldn’t really pay full attention to his words with my mind wandering off watching his figure.
— Let’s play truth or dare! — I suggested.
Even though I was the one to bring it up, I couldn’t help but feel that rush of warmth traveling through my body, nervous about the outcome of my idea. A girl spun the bottle and it landed on me and Kaia.
— Liv, truth or dare? — She asked.
— Dare. — I stated confidently.
— I dare you to spend ten minutes in the bathroom with Hendery. — Kaia said darting her eyes between the both of us with a smirk.
Oh, she knew. I thought I wasn’t this obvious about it, I guess alcohol does make you a tad bit more oblivious. I wanted to look confident, but, somehow, all the confidence I carried all these years with me felt like it melted right off me.
Suddenly, I see the dark haired boy get up and hold a hand out for me. I darted my eyes between his hand and his face for a second, embarrassed and nervous, until I mustered up courage I didn’t know I had and stood up as well, taking his hand in mine.
— Have fun! — Kaia yelled from afar, with a smug grin, which I rolled my eyes to.
I followed him along to the bathroom, we got in and he closed the door behind me. To say it felt awkward was definitely an understatement, I could barely look at him, my mind going through a million thoughts, only to be cut by his voice.
— So… Olivia, right? What do you wanna do? — He asked, getting closer to me, which made me unconsciously take a step back.
— I-I don’t know — I answered awkwardly, looking up at him, who was getting even closer, if it was possible.
— We’ve got eight minutes, you should think of something quickly — He rested his palms against the wall, caging me. — I saw the way you were looking at me, you don’t have to be shy.
At this point I had absolutely no sense of self control. I wasn’t thinking, I was only feeling an insane urge to feel pleasure. Without giving it a second thought, I just led my hands to the back of his neck and pulled him closer, closing the already tiny gap between our lips. His pretty pillowy lips were even softer than I had imagined, and in that moment, there was nothing in my head besides him. His hands roamed around my body, stopping at my waist, squeezing it tight, as he depended the kiss. I pulled him closer to me, if it was even possible, and I felt his hands slipping under my shirt, him now grabbing my bare waist.
I’d say I was lost in him, but I was far beyond that by now, when I heard a loud bang on the door.
— It’s not even been ten minutes — I muttered to myself, as a small pout formed on my lips.
— It’s okay, we can continue this later if you liked it so much — He looked at me with a smirk and I felt my cheeks starting to heat up.
I opened the door to meet eyes with a concerned looking Mark.
— What’s wrong? — I frowned.
— I don’t know, I saw Lia running away while crying. — He answered.
I looked at Hendery apologetically and basically ran out of the bathroom trying to find her.
— Lia? What happened?! — I asked as I saw her pass by me, making her way to the upstairs bathroom.
I knew something was terribly wrong. She was never one to cry in public, maybe I shouldn’t have forced her to come. I now found myself, five minutes after the best make-out session of my life, sitting on the bathroom floor, consoling my best friend. When suddenly I saw a familiar figure storm in, demanding me to get out. Jake had a way to get on my nerves. He can get the fuck out and away from my face, who the fuck does he think he is? I looked at Lia, concerned, and she nodded in response, so I got up and left begrudgingly, knowing she would regret that.
p.o.v: lia
It took me two days to muster up the courage to actually go back to school. Not that I was embarrassed of anything, people most likely weren’t even aware of what had happened, but I was just so sad I couldn’t really get out of bed.
But when I got there, something was really off. People were staring, and I wasn’t one to catch other’s eyes. It could’ve been just a product of my insecurity and imagination, but, either way, I was uncomfortable.
I got to my classroom with a heavy feeling in my chest, and as I opened the door, all eyes landed on me. I was about to shrug it off, when I saw Lindsay approaching me.
— Look everyone, the slut decided to show up! — She yelled with a sassy grin.
I couldn’t help but frown, the knot in my chest growing tighter and tighter.
— What did you say? — I asked, baffled.
— You know, you call it whatever you want, but I’m not the one doing school tutors at gross frat parties. If you’re that desperate, at least try to hide it — She flipped her hair as she walked away from me.
I looked behind her and met eyes with a grinning Jake, which made tears fill up my eyes. How could he? Why? What does he gain by making up a bunch of nonsense lies about me? This can’t be entertaining.
— You’re unbelievable. — I rushed over to him and pushed him lightly on the chest. — Find something else to do instead of making up lies about people that don’t even have anything to do with you.
I stormed out the door, not daring to look back, my already glossy eyes threatening to spill out tears. Everyone in the hallway was staring and laughing at me, like I was in a stupid high school sitcom. I made my way to the sports area, finding a nice spot on a bench under a tree.
I was ridiculously wiping my tears away, when I felt a shadow approaching me. I looked up through watery eyes to meet with a male figure. After blinking the tears away from my eyes, I realized it was Mark, and felt relieved. Somehow he made me really comfortable, he just had this soothing and calming aura.
— Lia… I’m so sorry. — He looked at me pitifully — Can I sit? — He pointed at the empty spot next to me.
I only nodded in response, as he sat down. He looked down in silence for a few seconds and stared at me deep in the eyes.
— I don’t even know what to say. I know I’m not responsible for his acts, but I really just didn’t want you to be hurt. I truly don’t know what goes through his mind, why he does those kinds of things, but, God, I swear I’ll make sure it won’t happen again. — He stated after a long sigh.
— Mark… — I turned to face him properly — You said that last time, and things only got worse. You don’t have to clean up for him, it’s really none of your business. You’ve done what you could, and I appreciate that so much. I don’t know why he hates me so much, but I can handle it, really. — I smiled weakly.
He clicked his tongue in disappointment at the situation, and rested his head on his hands, looking down, running his fingers through his hair. After a few seconds, he suddenly looked up at me.
— I’ll find out. I’ll talk to him, there must be a reason. Maybe it’s that girlfriend of his, I swear he’s not s bad person, I just-
— Mark. — I cut him off, resting a hand on his shoulder. — It’s okay, really, you might make it worse. I truly don’t mind, I’ll get used to it. — I said softly.
He looked defeated. I felt like and abandoned puppy by the way he was looking at me. I knew he meant well, but it just made me feel even more miserable.
— I think I’ll just be going home for now, or whatever. Need some alone time. But thank you Mark, really, it means a lot to me. — I gave him a reassuring smile and squeezed his shoulder lightly.
I got up and went for a walk around the neighborhood. I had my earphones on, looking down mostly, when I suddenly faced my worst nightmare. In front of me, with a group of fellow coworkers and possible friends, was that Paul guy, waiting in line at some restaurant. I panicked, I froze off. I wanted to cry, but my tears just ran dry a few minutes ago. He looked at me devilishly and gave me a disgusting wink.
I tucked my hair behind my ear nervously and started racing my pace, trying to escape him. Suddenly I felt an arm wrap around my shoulders, only to look up and meet eyes with him.
— I heard about the rumors you were making… If you wanted this so bad, you didn’t have to be so difficult and make a scene — He said smirking.
— Get off me! — I yelled, pushing him away.
— Oh, come on! What is this now? We both know you want it, what’s with the little games? — He argued.
— You’re disgusting. — I said, frowning and walking away.
Maybe I was wrong, I wouldn’t get used to it. I just went home looking forward to telling everything to my best friend.
A few days had passed, and Olivia and I were getting ready for her birthday party. We were hosting it in our apartment, and she had basically openly invited everyone in college. I was definitely feeling better than a couple days ago, she really had a way to make me feel right. We set all the snacks on the table, that were over numbered by the amount of alcohol on the counter, and just waited for the chaos to unfold.
More and more people started to arrive, and not long after, the house was packed. After a few drinks, I was completely wasted. The music lingered a little too long in my ears, and my sight was a little blurrier than usual. I heard the doorbell ring for the nth time that night, and decided to get the door. As I opened it, I met eyes with Mark, and immediately lit up.
— MARK!! — I squealed and pulled him in for a sloppy hug, stomping my feet.
— How much have you drank already? — He scoffed and looked in my already intoxicated eyes, laughing.
— Just… a little bit… — I answered, closing my index finger and thumb together, earning another laugh from him.
My happiness was cut short when I spotted who he was with. The tall boy and the blonde girl. I looked at Jake with a complete rapid shift in expression, giving him a disgusted look. I looked back at Mark smiling, and grabbed his arm.
— C’mon, get in, Ollie is in the living room rating her birthday gifts. — I pulled him towards the couch, leaving his friends behind.
— MARK! — Olivia screamed in happiness, getting up to give him a hug. — I thought you wouldn’t come! — She wined, giving him a smack on the arm.
— Of course I came! Either way, you literally invited anyone who wanted to come, I had to see what this would look like. — He answered laughing.
— It’s not that bad! Everyo- What are they doing here? — She asked, angry, when spotted Jake and Lindsay.
— C’mon, Liv, you invited everyone, they have lots of friends, there’s no way you didn’t expect them to come — He explained.
— Of course I didn’t expect them to come! I made it very clear that if I see their fucking faces once again, I’ll punch the shit out of it. — She almost yelled at the boy.
— Just chill! Have fun! They won’t be on your way. — He pleaded.
She gave him a threatening look and with much hesitation, gave in, going back to the couch she was sitting with her presents.
After a few hours of being drunk and high, I just couldn’t stand straight anymore. I managed to make my way to the balcony, where it was quiet and nobody could really get a view of myself. I sat there with my eyes closed for a few minutes, and like every single time I try to be in peace, it was cut short by someone loudly opening the balcony door.

chapter two.
tw: harassment, bullying, shaming, alcohol consumption, mentions of food
wc: 1.4k
p.o.v: lia
After our disastrous first day, weeks went by surprisingly quick. It’s been almost two months since our little misunderstanding in the cafeteria, and after that, we did manage ourselves pretty well. Mark got closer to us and we also met Kaia, a journalism student who was just the coolest person I’ve ever met. But now, I found myself in my shared apartment with Olivia, arguing over wether I am or not going to some frat party.
— I mean it Ollie, I’d much rather stay at home and just chill, I wouldn’t feel comfortable — I pleaded, already tired of bickering.
— Lia, it’s been a month and you still haven’t gone to any parties! It will be fun, I swear! And I’ll be there. Please! For me… — She argued, basically winning me over.
— Ugh, fine. I’ll go get ready — I gave in.
— Yay! Thank you, thank you, thank you! — She jumped and hugged me.
After about an hour of getting my makeup done and picking an outfit, I made my way to the living room to meet Olivia.
— Oh, he’ll no — She said.
— What? — I asked, confused.
— Your clothes! You can’t wear that to a party. — She mocked, pointing at my outfit.
— What’s wrong with it? — I stared down at my hoodie and jeans.
— Are you serious? You’re covering your entire body!
— I don’t own anything sluttier than this — I replied with a defeated look.
— Well I do, we’re fixing this. Now. — She grabbed my arm and led me to her room.
She opened her closet and stood there silent for a minute, then handed me some pieces of clothing. A leather pleated skirt, that barely covered my upper thighs, and a very revealing top, showing a lot of cleavage. I looked at her with puppy eyes, begging for mercy, and she just motioned for me to get in the bathroom and change.
— I’m so cold — I said, getting out of the bathroom, hugging myself in an attempt to get some warmth.
— The alcohol will fix that for you. You look great! — She clapped excitedly — Come on, I can’t stand another minute in here — She pulled me by the arm, leading us to the front door.
When we got there, it was like a zoo. Just a bunch of horny drunk teenagers, screaming and dancing. I looked terrified, Olivia on the other hand, looked like she had entered heaven.
— You came! — I saw a happy looking Mark coming towards us.
— Unfortunately. — I answered, gaining a slap on the arm from Ollie.
— C’mon, let’s get you a drink, it’ll cheer you up! — Mark pulled me towards the kitchen and Olivia went to talk to some guys.
There were a few people in the kitchen fixing themselves up some drinks, but my eyes landed on one specific person. Jake was leaning against the counter, sipping a cup of whatever poison his friends had mixed with juice, his golden brown hair slicked back, and his dark clothes perfectly hugging his body. I could hate him and his smug ass, but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t find him absurdly attractive.
He locked eyes with me once I entered the room, and I could swear his gaze lingered a little longer than it should. Weirdly, he was alone, no girlfriend to be found anywhere near. Mark grabbed a cup and fixed me a drink, and we started chatting.
— You look really pretty, Lia — He said, flashing me a shy smile.
Jake looked over at me, his eyes almost dark, piercing through my soul.
— Thanks, Mark, you look really good too. — I looked down, heat rising up my cheeks.
We talked for a while, until mark was dragged out of the kitchen by some of his friends, apologizing. I shrugged it off, laughing, already a bit tipsy.
I had this feeling I was being watched the whole time, until I realized a guy’s look on me. I recognized him, he was one of the tutors in our college, and the way he was staring at me was making me sick. If I was already uncomfortable, it only got worst when I saw him approaching me, with a scary smirk on his lips.
— Hey… — He approached me, slipping a hand behind me and resting it on my lower back.
I froze. If I hadn’t held back, I’m sure tears would’ve fallen down my eyes at this point.
— Sorry… I-I really have somewhere to be, my friends looking for me… — I tried escaping from his grip, but he followed me, now grabbing my waist.
— You look very pretty, doll, why don’t we just go somewhere quieter, I’m sure your friend wouldn’t mind… — He started rubbing his hands up and down my sides.
My eyes were already turning glossy, I couldn’t feel my feet, terrified.
— Can’t you realize when a girl’s not into you? Or are just that fucking clueless? — A male voice echoed behind me, making me turn around and see Jake.
— This is none of your business, you little shit. We’re having a private conversation — The man answered, taking a step forward.
Jake grabbed my arm and pulled me to his side, tears freely rolling down my eyes.
— She said she didn’t want anything with you, why don’t you just let it go before I beat the shit out of you in front of everyone? — He stepped forward as well.
— Fuck you. — The guy replied, bumping on his shoulder on his way out.
We were alone in the kitchen, I was cornered on the wall, hugging my arms, trying to hold back my whimpers.
— Are you stupid? — Jake approached me, visibly angry. — Don’t you know better than to let fucking Paul flirt with you?
— W-What?… I don’t even know who he is, and i didn’t flirt, he just grabbed me! — I sobbed
— He’s literally the biggest perv in school! He’s like, thirty, and only goes after young girls like you. Why are you so fucking naïve? — He scolded me like an angry father
— Why are you so fucking rude?! I didn’t do anything wrong, quite the opposite! Why do you even care? Aren’t I just some mindless fuck to you? Get the fuck away from me — I yelled, pushing his chest and storming out of the kitchen, wiping my tears.
— Lia? What happened?! — I heard Olivia asking while running towards me.
She followed me into the bathroom and I explained everything to her. We were sitting on the floor, while she wiped my tears away, consoling me. Suddenly I see someone entering the bathroom, and there was Jake again, like a fucking haunting.
— Get out. — He demanded, looking at Ollie.
She was speechless, looking at him, baffled.
— What? — She asked.
— Get out, let me talk to her. — He repeated.
She gave me a concerned look and I just nodded asserting that it was okay. She got up and left, looking him dead in the eyes with a killer gaze. He closed the door and sat down next to me.
— Why do you accept being treated like that? You completely froze off when he approached you. You can’t just take people’s shit all the time. — He said looking at me.
— Yeah, you would know that really well… — I answered looking down, fidgeting my fingers.
— You really are a brat, you know that? — He said, scoffing. — You can’t accept that people are trying to help you? — He stood up, ready to leave.
— Oh, this is your idea of helping? — I stood up also, raising my voice. — Putting the blame on me?!
— If you weren’t so fucking oblivious, it wouldn’t be your fault — He yelled back.
— Fuck you, Jake. — I stormed out of the bathroom crying.
I had to get out of there as quickly as possible, my feet were doing the work they hadn’t done in years. Ollie would probably realize that I went home after a while. All I wanted was to lay in bed and cry myself to sleep.
After a few hours of whimpering under the covers, I heard a knock on my door.
— Lia? Sweetie? Are you okay? Of course not… — She answered her own question — Well, if you need anything, I’ll be in my room. I brought you some water as well…
I wanted to thank her, but I couldn’t get myself to move or speak. I hated the effect something so little could have on me.

chapter one.
tw: cursing, bullying (?) wc: 2.4k
p.o.v: lia
The weather seemed to match the way I felt. All the anxious and degrading thoughts in my mind were perfectly paired with the clouded, rainy sky. New school, new friends, new life. It was all undoubtedly terrifying, as it was necessary.
I took a deep breath and reached for the doorknob of the room where my first class of the year would be. My eyes darted around the place, when i finally landed on a familiar face, letting go of the air I didn’t even know I was holding in.
— Took you long enough — I was caught off my thoughts by my best friend’s look piercing through me, clearly annoyed.
— They had to make a fresh pot, took longer than I expected — I replied in a defensive way, taking a sip of the coffee in my hands and sitting on the chair next to her, putting my things down.
— I’m so excited! — She squealed, almost jumping out her seat — I saw literally the cutest guy coming in and I talked to this girl who said all our classes are really good. Why do you look like that? — She frowned at the sight of the ‘not very amused’ expression on my face.
— I'm just really scared, Ollie. All these people seem so cool and outgoing and, honestly, it’s kind of terrifying — I shrugged — I just have a weird feeling, you know? Like, deep in my guts, that this won’t be such a good year.
— That’s probably all the coffee you’ve been drinking. Let go, Lia! People can surprise you. You can’t just follow me around all the time like a lost puppy, and don’t get me wrong, I love being with you, but you have to meet new people. — She argued, making me sigh.
Maybe she was right. After all, Olivia was a master when it came to making friends. She was just so easygoing, conversation never died with her. In high school they called her a “people magnet”, because everyone was just so drawn to her. But can you blame them? She was the coolest person I knew. First day of college, there she was, all confident, with a full face of makeup, dressed in leather from head to toe. And Olivia was definitely one of the most beautiful people you’d ever lay eyes on, people would talk to her just for the pleasure of admiring her perfect features.
Suddenly, the teacher came in and closed the door behind him, asking for the students to be quiet.
— Hi everyone, I’m Gary — He stated, with a rather cute smile on his face. — I know it’s hard, but don’t stare too much ladies, I am taken — He said pointing at the ring on his finger, making everyone giggle.
— See, this is going to be fun — Olivia whispered to me, smiling from ear to ear.
I couldn't help but let out a tiny giggle, which led to me and Ollie talking shit about all the tedious professors we’ve had during school life. I was finally feeling a bit at ease, but my peace was quickly cut short when I heard the classroom door being slammed open. A boy came in like it was nobody's business. His golden brown locks falling onto his forehead, his denim jacket sliding off one of his shoulders, and utterly avoiding any type of eye contact with the teacher.
— U-Uhm... Excuse me? — He coughed, absurdly annoyed — Are you by any chance aware of your time tables? You can't get in class this late.
At this point everyone was dead silent. Eyes would quickly shift between the professor and the boy.
— I was caught up in a personal matter. Why don't you just go back to doing your shitty job and leave me be? — He answered cockily while putting his stuff down on the desk behind me.
— Oh you better keep that attitude of yours for your bitches, I’m not putting up with your shit. You may get your things and leave, please — Professor Gary replied, very annoyed.
If my anxiety levels were bad before, now they were catastrophic. Tension made me nervous, that boy was being so disrespectful. Sure, I don't really think there's a need for being this strict with 'lateness' of any sort, but he was so egocentric towards someone who was just doing their job. I looked at Ollie with a “I told you” look and she rolled her eyes.
— If you want to take this matter to the headmaster, he will surely tell you how my family’s generous donations are more important to this school than your position here, unless you think differently and still want to take a chance… — He said with a smug face that made me wanna punch him right there and then.
The teacher basically shrug it off with a scoff, accepting his defeat.
After what felt like hours of this weird tension that was left in the room, the bell rang and it was lunch time. Olivia and I got up and packed our things. As I was leaving the classroom to go to the cafeteria, that jerk boy bumped so hard on my shoulder on his way out, like I wasn’t even there. That made Ollie's blood boil. She had a thing for bad boys, but she spent the last three hours saying how annoyed he made her feel, talking to the teacher like that, flexing his money.
— Are you fucking blind? — She almost screamed at him.
At this point I was sweating cold. I could feel my limbs shaking and my fingers going numb. He slowly stopped at the door and turned around to face both of us, including my 'scared to death please don't eat me' face.
— What did you say? — He asked, almost baffled
— You heard it. You come in here thinking you're better than everyone, and just bump mindlessly into people? — She replied, completely red from all the anger that was taking control of her body.
— Ollie, just let it go. It was an accident — I tried to make my way out of this discussion.
— You heard your friend, it was an accident — Now he just sounded straight like a serial killer.
To say I was uncomfortable was an understatement. I just wanted to get out of there as fast as I could. Suddenly a beautiful blonde girl showed up at the door.
— Baby, I’ve been waiting for so long! — She whined, throwing her arms around his neck.
— Sorry Princess, some mindless fucks were obsessing over me — He explained after giving her a peck on the lips.
— Oh, in your fucking dreams! — Ollie said, ready to throw hands.
— Let go, Olivia! — I said through gritted teeth, basically holding her back.
— Come on, Jakey, we’ll be late — The girlfriend pulled him out of the classroom, thankfully.
Ollie basically ran out of the room, as I followed her. She busted open the bathroom door and started endlessly ranting.
— I mean, the audacity! Men are all animals! Wait until Steve hears about this. They think they can do whatever they want, whenever they want, and no one's goi- Lia? Are you alright? — She stopped suddenly when noticed my concerned face.
— I'm fine! Jut a bit shaken up. I told you all I wanted to avoid was drama...
— Oh love... I'm sorry that happened. I should've kept quiet — She reassured — But that boy! The nerve! — She kept complaining like her life depended on it.
Can't deny that it made me laugh.
— Come on, let's go have lunch — I said laughing while she still complained
I was in for a long day.
p.o.v: Olivia
Lia was blabbing about some random topic while eating, but my eyes were glued on that Jake boy across the cafeteria, boiling with hatred.
— Ollie? Are you listening? — She snapped her fingers in front of me, gaining my attention.
— Sorry, I’m just so angry right now — I whined, reaching for her plate of fries, only to earn a slap on the hand.
— He’s just another idiot, world’s full of ‘em. Probably just another rich ass kid with an attitude. — She shrugged and kept eating.
— The boy he’s with, that’s the cute one I told you about — I changed topics, while giving him a soft smile.
Suddenly, my smiling face turned into a concerned frown when I realized he was approaching our table.
— Lia, don’t panic, he’s coming here, act normal — I said through gritted teeth.
— What?! — She looked at me with wide eyes.
— Hey! I’m Mark — The boy smiled while taking a seat in front of me, next to Lia, holding a hand up for me to shake.
— Olivia, nice to meet you — I replied with a smile, shaking his hand — This is my friend, Lia — I told him while pointing at her.
— Hi, nice to meet you! — She said, looking rather uncomfortable and he flashed back a smile to her.
— Jake told me about your little encounter earlier, and I’m sorry about that, even though I had nothing to do with it. He’s just like that, don’t worry about him. — He smiled apologetically.
— It’s all good, really, we won’t be on his way anymore — Lia stated quietly, looking down.
I looked at her with a sad look, feeling sorry for her. I wish she would stand her ground more, not letting people get to her so easily.
— He better be out of our way. Next time, I won’t be so nice — I corrected her and directed the speech to Mark.
— Don’t worry, he won’t be doing anything. — Mark said laughing. — Well, I’ve gotta get going, I have a class in five minutes. Pleasure meeting you guys! — He waved off.
— See, now we have a new friend! — I squealed almost excitedly.
— Yeah, he does seem great, his taste in friends is what really takes the cake — She said ironically.
I rolled my eyes and sighed at her statement. Why can’t she just accept that there are good people here? I understand where she’s coming from, but it would be a lie if I said it didn’t make me a tad bit frustrated. My personal goal was to make her look at things differently, so we can have an enjoyable year together.
The bell rang suddenly, announcing our next class. We got up and walked towards the exit, when I saw Lia being stopped by supposedly Jake’s girlfriend, and I felt my hands slowly forming a fist as I watched the scene unfold.
— Hey sweetheart, so here’s the thing, next time you feel like rubbing your ugly body against my boyfriend, remind yourself of who you are and who I am — The blonde girl stated, blocking the exit.
I couldn’t stand the sight of it, I quickly walked towards the two of them, and I’m sure if I was in a cartoon, you’d be able to see smoke coming off my ears.
— Okay, that’s fucking enough. — I almost yelled.
— And who the fuck are you? — She asked.
— I’m the one who’s gonna punch your fucking face if you don’t get the fuck out of here. — At this point, Lia was holding me back once again in the span of five hours.
— Baby, let it go, they’re not even close to being worth this fuss — Jake slipped a hand around his girlfriend’s waist.
— Are you serious? Again? Stop harassing people for no reason — Mark arrived almost baffled. — Come on Lindsay, let it go.
— Yeah, you better get the fuck out of my friends face — I yelled.
— Olivia! — She pleaded, very embarrassed and annoyed. — Don’t make a scene, just let her talk.
I couldn’t stand it anymore, if I stayed there any longer, I’m sure I’d end up on the floor on top of her, beating the shit out of her pretty face. I stormed out of the room, bumping my shoulder very hard against her. I got into the bathroom and quickly grabbed my phone and dialed my friend’s number.
— Steve, I can’t fucking stand this anymore! — I cried.
— What happened? — He said through the phone, with a concerned tone. — I thought you were excited about your first day.
— So did I, until these two fuckers showed up and started bickering with us. They’re so ignorant and it’s making me so angry! — At this point my tears were forming a pool on the floor under me, filled with rage. — I swear to god, I was ready to throw hands, if Lia hadn’t held me back…
— Liv, you know you were gonna go through hardships eventually, although you didn’t expect it to be so early on, I’m sure you’ll do fine. You know how to stand up for yourself and people respect you, just ignore them for your own good, they only do that because of the effect it has on you. — He advised wisely.
— You’re right, you’re always right. I miss you so much, I demand you to come back to this hemisphere. — I wiped my tears.
Steve was one of my best friends, and he was currently studying physics abroad, in the States. Lia and I have been suffering with him being away and it has only been a couple of months. It’s good to know he still always has a shoulder for me to cry on (even if it’s virtually).
We said our goodbyes and I hang up. I was startled at the sudden opening of the bathroom door, only to meet Lia’s gaze.
— Come on, we’re late. — She said apologetically, while motioning her arms for me to get up the bathroom floor. — Thank you for standing up for me…
— Anytime.

dugout - a two sided story about the everyday struggles of two best friends. the good girl who falls for the bad boy, the best friend who falls for her friend’s brother, just the whole cliche we all love, munched up in a long ass story. (s)(a)(+) [inspired by Dugout, from The Backseat Lovers]
