So something that has always lowkey bothered me about black and white, & i figure wat better time to rant about it than now, was labeling ourselves black or white, or brown. Now, this is just a thought process post so dont take it as anything else please.

The reason that bothers me is because there’s so many different shades of “black”, there’s so many different cultures that are “black". so many shapes, loos, texture.

you have light skins, dark skins and a fair medium color, even light light skinned. Then you have Africans, Haitian, Jamaican. Straight hair, curly hair. Brown eyes, blue eyes.

Than you have the argument like with Dominicans and Afro -latinos. “i no black.” But yea you are. DR was one of the main stops for the slave ships. so alot of Dominican heritage is African. &If we really want to break down everything, everything started in Africa with black people, But that is a whole nother post and a whole nother conversation 

Now i know for the movement in itself it just makes more sense #BlackLivesMatter , but i hope in our day to day lives we can get more comfortable outside of our color and into our culture.
