so many of the comments on this post say some variation of “omg please send me asks, please dm me, i want to talk to you guys!!” guys i hate to tell you this but someone’s gotta make the first move. ideally you would be starting half of the interactions you have, right? and don’t get me wrong, i am also genuinely very bad at initiating conversations with people i want to get to know better, but the point is that this is a skill that we can all get better at. with practice. and think of it this way: the more users there are being social in that way, the more that becomes the norm, making it less anxiety-provoking to do. i know it sucks but there is no friendship without what can feel like a massive amount of vulnerability. no risk, no reward.
