When I was younger and researching the autism diagnosis criteria and symptoms, I thought “oh I couldn’t POSSIBLY be autistic.” Because when I read “takes everything literally” I thought it literally meant EVERYTHING and I was like “I don’t take EVERYTHING literally, just most things!” And I just realized the other day that it didn’t actually mean EVERYTHING and that was an overstatement.

Vallarta Mud Turtle (Kinosternon vogti), family Kinosternidae, endemic to Jalisco, Mexico

This species was only recently described, 2018.

They were once thought to be a population of the Jalisco Mud Turtle, Kinosternon chimalhuaca.

The largest specimen measure was 10.2 cm (4.02 in.) shell length.

There is not a lot of data on this turtle's population. Only one female was found in the last field study of the species, so this turtle is most likely quite threatened.
