but samson is almost worse for bethquisitor. she knows samson, in her verse she was the one who got kidnapped by grace and thrask and samson, she was in the gallows and saw how bad things were first-hand, she was at the mercy of the kirkwall templars, and now she has even more templars led by the guy who said he wanted to help mages. trying to kill her. and somehow she has to work with cullen of all people. to stop those people.

fenquisitor dealing with corypheus's lieutenant either way is sooooo. either it's the guy who kidnapped him to get to hawke and then chickened out, who keeps getting himself into Situations because he's selfish and sympathetic all at once, or it's someone like him, someone like varania, someone seeking liberation. either way it's like. wow we are skating close to home here in skyhold.
not to mention the, you know, darkspawn magister sidereal and tevinter nationalists trying to wear his lungs as a hat

feeling Bad lately for multiple reasons but always thinking about fenris and the kirkwall gang. that's my bunch of assholes who accidentally changed the world like 3x over mostly by accident because they wanted some cash money

so really what i want is for varric to gather the rest of the kirkwall crowd (not hawke they can have their weisshaupt vacation) into his little arms and hurl them all at solas. they're getting acrimoniously divorced and the whole kirkwall groupchat is about to start making solas's life hell until he pays varric Cole Support and stops trying to kill everyone and end the world

god thinking about fenquisitor becoming the blue wraith in the time between da2 and dai and solas's trespasser speech about being the dread wolf in that context. fen'harel, inspiring hope in his friends and fear in his enemies. not unlike blue wraith.

❝ some storm. ❞ isabela knew a fib when she saw one. but people liked to keep their secrets, and besides— she hadn't exactly advertised that they were being rescued by a band of pirates, just yet, had she? and if they were all lucky, she wouldn't have to; it always just complicated things, unless their rescuees were of the same persuasion.
she smiled.
❝ sweet thing, our best contacts are all at port — unless you want to try your luck with a seagull. ❞ there were ways, of course; a raven had landed on her deck a few times with word from leliana — sweet, unnerving girl that she was. ❝ lucky for you, we're just a few days out from making land, if you can stand the wait. ❞
what, indeed? of the landing party, only one of them still retained a communicator - and she didn't have high hopes for its function. but there was no place to check that now. her eyes flicked to the captain. humanoid, pretty, but a quick glance around confirmed that that was not the only sort of sentient present. at least that meant her ears didn't need hiding as they might have had they actually landed on ancient earth.
she wracked her brain for any knowledge of ancient earth sailing vessels and their occupants and eventually landed on: ❝ we were separated from it - a storm. ❞ saavik paused again. ❝ it's imperative that we reach land, that we might contact them again. unless you have some means . . . ? ❞

isabela's used to a lot of things in her line of work, but fishing an elf and a bunch of her compatriots out of the waking sea definitely counts as abnormal. especially without any sign of an actual wreck. and no matter how beautiful the elf might be — a little uptight, maybe, but isabela was a little uptight herself after swimming to kirkwall. who can blame her? ❝ well, ❞ she says, a smile curving across her lips, ❝ i wasn't about to leave you out there, was i? ❞ her gaze slides sideways. ❝ what happened to your ship? ❞
were she not breaking the prime directive and soaked to the bone, saavik might stop to appreciate the fact that she was on a wooden ship. an old earth-type sailing vessel, in fact! it rocked in a way completely alien to her and the rest of the landing party, one of whom leaned over the side to vomit. she remained steadfastly upright, casting a glance to the rest to keep their silence. she turned her attention to their savior, or so it would seem. ❝ thank you, ❞ she said stiffly. ❝ my crew and i are grateful for your intervention. ❞
@dracaeons, saavik for isabela.

in his dnd and bg3 verses, fenris’s fade-stepping abilities function like a version of the blink spell, except they’re always “active” as if cast and he has control over his reappearances and movement within the ethereal plane.
