Hey there! I just made this blog for my OC and would love if you would like or reblog this post in the event you’re willing to interact with me!

This blog is open to multiple fandoms and currently has verses specifically for Overwatch and Seraph of The End along with a plain ole modern day verse!           The gunslinger frowned as he turned his head slightly to look at the passerby, “No?” he started, tone changing as his brows were drawn together and his attention was drawn back to Genji. “Why, w’s’it bad?”

           It probably had been, and he wouldn’t’ve been surprised. It wasn’t the first time someone had looked at him oddly, and it wouldn’t be the last.

"Less bad and more dumbfounded," he replies with a DISSMISSIVE wave of his hand. "But it was pretty funny." Honestly he didn't find the looks they received to be surprising--a cyborg and a cowboy walking side by side in broad daylight, who wouldn't be CURIOUS about that? Still, he felt the need to point out that particular man for his double-take and totally slack-jawed expression as he clearly COULDN'T BELIEVE what he was seeing to be real. He'd HOPED Jesse caught it as well, but it seems that's not the case. Oh well. He's certain there will be another like it soon enough.

Perhaps it would've been WISER for them to set out after sunset and not just before; although either way, they couldn't change it now. They were here for a PURPOSE and no amount of gawking or gossip would DISSUADE them. Besides, the mission itself was supposed to be fairly EASY all things considered. They'd received word of Talon smuggling weapons en masse somewhere within this city. All they had to do was find out when and where specifically it was taking place and lend a hand in its DESTRUCTION. Nothing overly complicated, though it may involve not just talking to the right people or knocking a few heads, but maybe undercover work too. FUN FUN.

So this is my personal take on the events surrounding Genji's rescue via Overwatch.

Alright so I don't think it was any sort of secret that Genji didn't have a taste for all the nefarious doings of the Shimada Clan. Yes, he willingly became a trained assassin, and yes he excelled in the ninja arts. I also have no doubt that they put his abilities to the test and made him display both his prowess and his loyalty by taking at least one life. But words spread and exaggerate like wildfire. It was only natural that the younger Shimada heir's distaste for his clan end up with a nice little spot on Overwatch's radar. Clearly, though, they weren't going to take gossip for the genuine truth. 

They probably investigated him months if not YEARS prior to seeking out his allegiance by implanting someone on the inside of the clan who could feed them all the information they needed credibly. As time passes, it only becomes more clear that Genji wants to break free from the clan--that he'd much rather use his skills to help people than hurt them. Overwatch sees this as an opportunity. They want to reach out to the second son because they know that if anyone would be useful to have in taking down the Shimadas, it would be Genji (or Hanzo but he didn't seem to be an option at the time). In the midst of attempting to figure out who would be best suited to represent Overwatch and approach him and the when and the where of it, they recieved word from their agent on the inside of Genji's impending execution. 

There was a scramble then. If they wanted to save this potential asset, they'd have to do so far sooner than any of them predicted and, they realized, they may have to infiltrate the clan's base of operations. This led to the mission being turned over to Blackwatch. It was difficult to round up operatives and formulate a plan in such a short span--hours ticking down to the moment Genji would be killed. They'd hoped to get in and get Genji and get out beforehand, but there were unexpected delays and by the time they made it, Hanzo (along with the elders of the Shimada clan) had already thought him dead. 

Not being the sort to give up at such a grusome sight, the mission was still carried out. Blackwatch did retrieve Genji's body and just in time too. If it had been a little later, he may not have made it. And yes, perhaps there was questioning around the kidnapping of a supposedly dead body, but the clan elders decided it wasn't worth persuing--a mistake on their part. And honestly all that being said, I feel like Genji would have closer ties to Blackwatch (as his abilities would be better suited for it) than its showy counterpart, even after the recall.

"I am sure it does, Angela." Whatever semblance of a smile had remained on his face now melts away with another soft, half-hearted sigh. This hadn't been easy for him--none of it. Regaining consciousness after his own BROTHER had tried attempted to MURDER him was difficult enough to deal with--to understand and comprehend. But waking to find his body was not his anymore, FLESH and BLOOD robbed of him, and that was even harder. Some days he felt as though he'd become in some ways more omnic than man. He couldn't STAND it. But Angela, the very person that did this to him, had been nothing but KIND to him. Even now she was all soft smiles and gratitude and honestly he's GRATEFUL for it. Her presence, if nothing else, dragged him from his own mind for a little while.

"So what do we have planned for today?" Physical therapy or just a little checkup, he wonders.

Of course she knew all about his clan, having learned a great deal about himself before he was presumed dead. The man, well… machine that stood before her now seemed to be worlds apart from the young Genji that had fallen. Interesting. Though only a moment had passed, she had waited far too long to speak again, simply holding him tightly under her caramel gaze. With a swift clear of her throat the soldier spoke once more. “Ah, yes, I’ve heard of you.” She extended a gloved hand out to the other, “It’s a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Shimada. Captain Amari, at your service!”

He couldn't help the ANXIETY that gently tugged at him when she let his name proceed a pause, one which had felt far longer to him than a few mere seconds. But then she smiles and it sets him at EASE once more. The Shimada name bears a heavy weight, one made up of all the horrific deeds and negative connotations attached to it in a tangle of DARK strings. He can recall many times it had made his encounters with others much less than IDEAL and he's glad that this meeting doesn't have to be added to the list.

"Good to meet you," he all but chirps in response. He places his hand in hers and shakes it firmly. "I have heard much of you as well. But I had hoped for the opportunity to get to know you in person. What do you say?"
