Being with Steve sucks.

Billy stares at him, with his damn big brown eyes and fluffy hair, the purse of his pink lips when Billy won't share his last cigarette with him.

"Please," Steve says, voice so soft it's no wonder that half of Hawkins chicks had been wanting to take a ride on that dick.

Steve is coming closer, too, and his breath ghosts over Billy's face and of course it smells like mint, of course he smells like expensive aftershave and hairspray and something else that makes Billy's heart stumble. Billy hates it here.

"'m not sharin'," Billy says like his hands haven't turned sweaty.

"Oh, c'mon." Steve's eyes turn even bigger and Disney's Bambi can fucking run for its money. "Don't be an ass."

Billy almost laughs, because he's always an ass. He doesn't get why Steve hangs out with him and why he looks forward to these stupid meetings at the quarry.

"Billy," Steve says, tilting his head.

Billy Hargrove is a fucking sucker. He sighs and gives Steve the cigarette. Steve puts it between his lips, looking expectantly at Billy. Waiting for something.

It's too much and it hurts, but pain is the only thing Billy is used to.

Billy leans a little closer, flicking his zippo and lighting the cigarette. He watches the orange glint glow up a little when Steve inhales.

"Thanks," Steve murmurs, like it was more than a cigarette, like it's something private, intimate even. Billy feels naked, so it's rather fitting.

He takes the cigarette between two fingers and holds it out for Billy.

Billy's lips wrap around the cigarette and he swears he can still taste Steve on it. It tingles.

Being with Steve sucks, because he can't stop thinking about kissing him.
