We’re living through the most misogynistic period I’ve experienced. Back in the 80s, I imagined that my future daughters, should I have any, would have it far better than I ever did, but between the backlash against feminism and a porn-saturated online culture, I believe things have got significantly worse for girls. Never have I seen women denigrated and dehumanised to the extent they are now. From the leader of the free world’s long history of sexual assault accusations and his proud boast of ‘grabbing them by the pussy’, to the incel (‘involuntarily celibate’) movement that rages against women who won’t give them sex, to the trans activists who declare that TERFs need punching and re-educating, men across the political spectrum seem to agree: women are asking for trouble. Everywhere, women are being told to shut up and sit down, or else.

The six biological karyotype sexes that do not result in death to the fetus are: X – Roughly 1 in 2,000 to 1 in 5,000 people (Turner’s ) XX – Most common form of female XXY – Roughly 1 in 500 to 1 in 1,000 people (Klinefelter) XY – Most common form of male XYY – Roughly 1 out of 1,000 people XXXY – Roughly 1 in 18,000 to 1 in 50,000 births When you consider that there are 7,000,000,000 alive on the planet, there are almost assuredly tens of millions of people who are not male or female. Many times, these people are unaware of their true sex. It’s interesting to note that everyone assumes that they, personally, are XY or XX. One study in Great Britain showed that 97 out of 100 people who were XYY had no idea. They thought they were a traditional male and had few signs otherwise.
It’s chromosomes now! After years of claiming that terves were obsessed with chromosomes, well, now apparently chromosomes DO make you one sex or the other. LOL.

Reverse privilege
What happens if you are a member of a privileged group but an abuser uses that? What if they rely on the fact that the privileged group is considered to be the one that does all the abuse? How can you defend yourself against DARVO within the paradigm that your group is *the* abusive one? How can you defend yourself when the social expectation is that you will abuse and cannot be abused?

Perhaps a cruel god, knowing that his creation would wish to know itself, punished the vanity he himself created by making creation divisible into eternity, so that nothing was ever truly knowable, and we, driven always to know more, would become insane as our finite brains tried to contain an infinitude that even he, himself infinite, had been driven mad in trying to contain.

In my profession, the rules are essential. My knowledge of them is what I live on. My ability to employ words that obey them is what allows me to say I can write (by which I do not, as some seem to think, mean to say merely that I know how to put words on paper but that I am confident they are the right words – or at least properly chosen out of the words that can be right). The rules are not, though, the straitjacket that (mostly unskilled) wouldbes like to make out. They are the natural consequence of the desire to communicate – guidelines in a concrete sense. I sometimes use the metaphor that they are the road language drives along, not the speed limit or the prohibition against drunkenness. Of course the road is sometimes poorly signposted. You don’t always know where you’re going. But you should be able to tell when you’re driving on the grass.
The people who dispute this are usually the writers who think themselves quite accomplished and when I recognise flaws in their writing, they feel slighted. They will then debate the whole concept and claim that they “break the rules”. But breaking the rules is different. It’s when you take a route across the grass on purpose and it can be breathtaking. It’s not making mundane errors and then claiming you did it for effect.

And I didn't dance when I was in Barcelona, because I choose women who choose me and I was chosen by a woman like a sheet anchor, who had no way to have fun unless you made fun for her, a woman who had no idea how her heart could sing, who focused only on how I should play the tune.
Brutal but real. I mean, if you want to know who you are, you could do worse than ask me.

The world of information is like a sea, and like the sea you can see anything you want to in it. Yet it remains unformed, just water and salt, and the world remains just the world, unordered and unbounded, unless we give it order and bounds, and then we can only do so to the extent we do the sea.
