It is absolutely NOT ridiculous for someone to give a career up for love. Some people want to be doctors or personal trainers, some people want to be partners and parents. For some people, family and love is more important than a career. There's nothing wrong with saying "my career is more important," but there's also nothing wrong with saying "my love for this person is more important than my career." Everyone was different. Don't disrespect someone else' path simply because it is not your own
