“There was something awesome about being at a truck stop at like two a.m. putting eyeliner on with big burly truckers everywhere. It was just really dangerous.”
First repaint of 'La Belle Dame Sans Merci' is (kinda) finished! I'm still searching for my gouache paints for some highlights, but otherwise... I really prefer those classical repaints with watercolors.
original painting under the cut:
This was painted by Marc Fishman, which I only realized now, is not a classical painter, but a comic / bookcover artist (he seems to have illustrasted something for Game of Thrones too!
I didn't find him on social media (at least not in a way that I thought was really him), but I did find some interviews with him here and here.
geralt realizing one day after jaskier got hurt by something (literally like. anything. he pricked his finger on a rose stem or smth) and realizing that his bard is MORTAL which he never actually internalized before, and he just can't have that. not a second of acceptance is happening. so he proceeds to visit every single mage he knows, trying to find the cure for mortality. and absolutely no one can help him and he's completely devastated. meanwhile jaskier, who is a absolutely not mortal half elf is living his best life trying to figure out why the FUCK geralt is treating him like he's on his deathbed
Fun fact I WAS going to include that entire intervention scene in my original post. Legendary stuff
*throws Netflix Witcher’s stuff out of the door in a rucksack* Come back with this exact energy between your Geralt and Jaskier in S2 or don’t bother coming back at all
okay but high out of his mind geralt on painkillers/venom still talking to roach like always but doing it like we all talk to cats (”oh, look at this belly” “oh, are you eating grass? is it good grass? very tasty?”), and jaskier is laughing his ass off, having the best time
until geralt turns and starts doing it to HIM
