While my plant spirit is awakening slowly like the spring in Seattle, here’s my #philodendronspiritussancti making a grand (re)entrance after a long long silence 🙈 https://www.instagram.com/p/CptDH8-PO0X/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Sorry for the long silence, but I’ve been doing some major re-organization of my plant collection as well as some rumination about my hobby as a plant enthusiast. Maybe it’s the weather, a crave for a new lifestyle, or maybe it’s just time, but watering and caring for my plants have become a trying routine (Don’t worry, my plants are still being pampered!). At times like this, I’m so grateful for the old and new friendships I’ve made through plants and this variegated Rhaphidophora Tetrasperma cutting is just another sweet embodiment of how #plantfriendsarethebestfriends 🫶🏻 Thank you Tamara for sharing your resources with me and for inviting me to be part of the enthusiastic search for this dream plant of mine. https://www.instagram.com/p/CmfAbunSQRd/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

My plant collection has shifted quite a bit due to my constant moving in the past two years, but there are some that still sticks around and continues to amuse me with their growth. Pictured here is a sun-stressed Hoya Walliniana from Lydia @wondrousandwhimsical , which managed to maintain its very portable size throughout the year (thanks to all these all white leaves 😅). Any tips of identifying a Philodendron ‘pink/white Anderson’—a hybrid of pink princess and white knight? I got a little baby through a trade recently. There are days when I know for sure the unique traits of a white/pink Anderson by comparing it to my trio color white knight, but I’ve been struggling to find the best way to precisely identify this plant. I’d love to hear how you tell this plant apart from its parents 🙏🏻 https://www.instagram.com/p/ClkBOOZPRDt/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

This is my third attempt to grow a Hoya carnosa gray ghost. Wish me luck 🤞🏼(The first two are still very much alive. They just disliked me and the mutual feeling we shared called for a rehome.) (at Seattle, Washington) https://www.instagram.com/p/ClfBfsQvB4p/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Are you team climbing or team crawling 😆 I always preferred to keep my plants short and full and at times crawling, so there I was—chopping up my long, single stem Monstera adansonii mint into multiple single-, double-node cuttings to make a fuller looking pot. Kitchen renovation is going strong at our new place 🙌🏻 There are many tiny steps involved in bringing to life the kitchen we’ve been envisioning—from selecting the big items (cabinets, countertops, tiles, and appliances) all the way to the most subtle touch-up like choosing a new room fragrance—and that’s how @bloomandbowery and their peony diffusor flower set with an elegant vaseful of creekside scented oil found me. This beautiful bouquet is currently sitting close to the doorway entering my plant corner (obviously that’s the highest-traffic area in my home 🫣) and I can’t wait to show it to you again once it’s settled in our new kitchen, so stay tuned! The makers at @bloomandbowery came up with this amazing idea to upgrade the traditional reed diffusers by crowning the reed sticks with unique sola wood flowers that soak up aromatic oils and diffuse the scent into the air like a live bouquet. The scent I have this time is Creekside. This refreshing blend of rose, lily, green leaf, sandalwood, and citrus peel pairs nicely not only with the sola wood peony but the purpose of the space as well. More about the making of the sola wood (scientific name Aeschynomene Aspera) flower bouquet from its maker: "Sola wood flowers (or shola) are an eco-friendly and sustainable alternative to cut flowers. Made from the renewable wood of a marshy plant (not tapioca or cassava as commonly misunderstood), sola wood flowers look like real flowers and last a lifetime [if properly cared for]." @bloomandbowery x @andtheirplantstories Special Discount for October: Receive 15% off your order with code PLANTSTORIES15 or via the Linkin.bio. 🫶🏼 Don’t forget to show me your set up if you get one, too!
