If you could change any event in the history of mankind, what would it be and what would you do?
Difficult question, but I'd have to say that I would go back to the start, where it all began.
And by that, I mean I would go back to when Voldemort was a child. I would keep whoever told him of being a wizard, from doing so. That way, he would of never grown up so power-hungry and all of the stuff that he has done or had done, would never of happened. Harry's parents would still be alive as well as many others who have been killed, and none of us would have to be living our lives in fear. And maybe, just maybe, my parents would of accepted me for who I am, and actually loved me.

Time For a Change || Closed || Reply Order: Emelyn, Raelle
Emelyn smashed her hand down against the bathroom counter in fustration. As hard as she tried, she could not master the hair-colour changing spell. It was a simple enough spell, but each time she had said the incantation and gave her wand a flick, her hair had turned some vibrant shade of blue, green, or pink, instead of the intended blonde.
With a heaving sigh, she glanced back up into the mirror. Her hair was now a horribly girly shade of hot pink. It was a colour she would never even want to wear, nevermind have it be on her hair.
She raised her wand to her hair to try again but as soon as she did so, the bathroom door swung open. In walked Raelle Walden, a sixth year Hufflepuff girl. She also happened to be not only Emelyn's Transfiguration partner, but one of the better students in the said course.
Turning abruptly on her heels, Emelyn cheerfully said, "Raelle! Do you mind helping me a bit? I'm trying to get my hair blonde again but, as you can see," she motioned to the pink blob on her head, "it's not going quite well."

As usual, Emelyn wasn't paying attention has she walked down the hall. If she had been, she probably would of been able to avoid walking into the new girl from America. But of course, she hadn't been, so right into the girl she had walked.
"Yeah, I'm fine! It's my fault too - I was off in my own little world again," Emelyn said, laughing. She offered the girl a welcoming smile.
"You're Darleda, right? The new Gryffindor girl?" Emelyn asked, politely. "My name is Emelyn Rose Carstairs. I'm a sixth year in Slytherin." Before the girl could say anything else, she added, "but don't let that cloud your judgment of me. I'm quite a bit different than the rest of the green and silver lot."
Bad things come in threes? |Closed| Emelyn
Darleda was up early her first morning at Hogwarts. Quickly dressing, she left Gryffindor tower in somewhat of a hurry. Today was the day to meet new students, although she hadn’t even gotten far before something placed a damper on her mood. The moving staircase in and of itself would be a feat to conquer. She’d be surprised if she made it anywhere on time before the first holidays. After ten minutes of many discouraging thoughts, Darleda finally made her way off of the stairs, and began heading toward the Great Hall. Students were just beginning to trickle into the castle, each eyeing her curiously before turning to whisper to whoever was beside him or her. She smiled politely anyways, hoping she came off as friendly and approachable.
The meal was the next discouraging thing of her day. Of course, it was only lunch, and yes, only a few students were roaming the castle, but no one bothered to approach her. Maybe it would just take some time. Or maybe she just had to take matter into her own hands. Perhaps the feast that evening would change things. One could only hope, right? Standing, Darleda promptly left the Great hall. This could be the perfect chance to wander around and meet people from other houses. Without thinking, she took a sharp turn upon leaving the hall, yelping loudly when she smacked into someone. “Oh my gosh! I am so, so sorry!” Shooting the girl the most apologetic look, Darleda managed a weak smile. They always said bad things came in threes. ”Are you alright?”

As Emelyn walked up the stairs from the dungeon, she tugged self-consciously downward on her short skirt. While it was only several centimetres shorter than her Hogwarts uniform, it still made her feel awkward and exposed.
She could only hope that her friends and peers alike, wouldn't think much of her interesting costume choice.
The music from the ball flooded into the corridor outside of the Great Hall. Only a dozen or so students mingled there, most of them being snogging couples. As she neared her peers, she scanned their faces, trying to identity which one was Sebastian. When no such luck arose, she felt her stomach drop - had she gotten the meeting time or place wrong? Had he gone in without her?
Her fears quickly came to a sudden halt when a boy several away from her, lifted his mask and called out her name. Recognizing the figure only by his voice and not by his looks, she walked towards him, laughing.
"Hey Sebastian," Emelyn said, shaking her head slightly. "Thank-you. Your's is amazing too. I didn't even recognize you!" As she spoke, she studied his costume and marvelled at that fact they were practically matching. Both were wearing victorian-esque costumes with masquerade masks to match. Then again, his face and identity was concealed under his raven mask, while hers was partially exposed under her own.
"Do you want to go in?" She asked, smiling at her friend.
The Ball || Closed || Sebastian, Emelyn
Sebastian was a bit antsy as he waited for Emelyn outside of the Great Hall. He had gone to great lengths to make sure that he wouldn’t be recognized, including charming his hair to be a chocolate brown, rather than it’s normal blonde color.
He was wearing a period piece—a Regency Era outfit, with a gold and gold waiscoat,  a white shirt, a white cravat, a green coat, black trousers, black socks, and a pair of black shoes with silver buckles. His favorite piece of his costume, though, was his mask. It was a gorgeous black leather mask that had been crafted to look like the face of a raven. From what he could tell, he was pretty unrecognizable—and that’s how he wanted it.
He finally spotted Emelyn walking towards the Great Hall, dressed in a shorter version of a typical masquerade dress. It was nice to see her being more carefree for a change.
“Emelyn!” he called out, lifting his mask so that Emelyn could recognize him. “I’m over here!” He waited for her to walk over to him. “I have to say, I love your costume.” He gave her a friendly smile.

My costume to the ball! Not only do I love the Victorian feel to this costume, I love the meaning behind it.

Hey Captain. Would you like to go to the ball with me?
Hey Sebastian! I would be honored to accompany you - thanks for asking me! Do you want to meet in the Slytherin Commonroom before the ball or do you have another idea?

Looking forward to the ball? Who do you want to go with?
Yeah, I'm so excited for the ball! I can't wait at all. (Hey! That rhymes!). And for the other question - I'm not really sure. There's a few guys that seem really nice. I wouldn't mind going with any of them. The question is though - do they want to go with me?

Emelyn laughed along with Belle. "Thanks and we'll try to go easy on you guys but no promises," she said, throwing in a teasing wink. Responding to her earlier statement, Emelyn said, "I'm sure you'll do great. From what I've heard, you're an amazing player. The first game is always a bit nerve-racking but overal, it's pretty good since everyone just wants to see you do well. On a whole, we're a pretty supporting crowd here." It was three-quarters of the truth, at least. All the Gryffindors, Ravenclaws, Hufflepuffs, and of course Emelyn, would love to see Belle kick some Quidditch-behind, but unfortunately Emelyn couldn't speak for the rest of her house.
She glanced along the lake and at the students who were meandering around. "So, what are you going to wear to the ball? Any ideas?"
Narrow Corridor || Closed || Belle, Emelyn
Noticing that Emelyn looked pained when talking about her brother, Belle’s mind began whirling with reasons. She was such a lovely girl, what could possibly be the matter? Belle thought. Anyway, it looked like she didn’t want to talk about it.
The lake looked lovely at this time of year. The dark water glistened in the sunlight and it almost looked inviting, almost. Belle had heard enough rumours about Giant Squids eating students who linger too close to the dark waters to be very cautious.
“Ravenclaw looks like it’s going well,” she said. “Cho Chang has been doing a lot of training over the holidays so she’s absolutely brilliant now. I’ve been fitting in some extra training too but I’m a bit nervous about the first match,” Belle had been practising from dawn to dusk to make sure that she was good enough to play. “I’ve heard really good things about you being captain. I hope you go well in all of your matches,” she said. Belle looked at her with a smile blossoming on her face before continuing. “But not against Ravenclaw though,” Her laughter made a pretty tinkling sound and other students around the area turned around in suprise.

I can't wait for the Ball! I already know what my costume is going to be, so the big question is: who am I going to go with?

"I speak Latin, of all languages. Not fluently, of course, but I know my fair share. For some reason my mother forced my brother, Daniel, and I to take it before we came to Hogwarts," she said. Speaking of her brother made her stomache clench. Horrible memories of her past threatened to arise but she pushed them aside.
The two girls walked in time, down the slight slope and towards the lake. They headed to a vacant bench with an excellent view and took a seat beside one another.
Emelyn smiled as she began to talk. Quidditch, of course, was one of her most favourite topics to talk about. "The Slytherin team is going pretty good. We seem to be really in sync this year. Fortunately, there hasn't been any in-team fights," she said, remembering how the whole team had gotten into a huge fight the year prior, resulting in half of them ending up in the Hospital Wing, only days before the game. "How is the Ravenclaw team?"
Narrow Corridor || Closed || Belle, Emelyn
The Great Hall was full of students grabbing at the piles of delicious cinnamon biscuits on silver platers at each of the house tables. At Gryffindor table, Ron Weasley was clutching two handfuls of the biscuits while the rest of the house was looking at him disgustedly.
“Well I speak a little bit of Italian but it’s not very good,” she said. “But all of what I can say is to do with gelato because I worked at a gelato store one summer,” A happy grin came across her face as she was reminded of the wonderful time she had at Dionne di Delicious Desserts. “Do you speak any other languages?” she asked curiously.
Belle headed over to the Ravenclaw table. A few students greeted her but most of the house ignored her. She didn’t really fit in. Belle filled a serviette with a few biscuits and turned around to find Emelyn there. “I feel like some fresh air,” Belle said in answer to Emelyn’s question. They headed outside towards the lake, chatting as they walked.
“So how is your quidditch team going?” she asked.

"You know what? I think you're right. And that was weeks ago. Wow." Emelyn gave her friend a roll of her eyes as Maia talked about the Gryffindor Quidditch team. Yes, they had amazing players but seeing as this was Emelyn's first game as captain, she needed to win to proove herself. Especially on a team with all boys. "Sorry, hon. I think you've been sadly misinformed. We've got this game in the bag!"
Emelyn giggled, something she rarely did. "Found you on the floor?" It just sounded so staged that she couldn't help but laugh. "I need more details than that though! What happened? What did he say? Also, more importantly, when are you going to make a move? Knowing Bastian, you might have to make one first."
Okay, it wasn't completley true. Sebastian was man enough to make the first move, but Emelyn wasn't sure how long it would take for him to do so. Knowing both sides of the equation made it so much harder to talk to another about the other. Nevertheless, she enjoyed the thrill it gave her, playing nargle-in-the-middle.

“I don’t think we’ve really talked since I was in the hospital wing!” She exclaimed. She gave Emelyn a playful grin. “I gotta disagree with you there,” she said. “Gryffindor is going to beat you guys.” Not that she and Sebastian weren’t fantastic players, she thought.
It was as if Emelyn had read her mind, and Maia found herself blushing at the mention of Sebastian, though she rolled her eyes. “Well, if you must know, we did run into each other in the library a few days ago. He found me on the floor surrounded by books I knocked over.” She smiled sheepishly.

Emelyn smiled. "Yeah, everyone's pretty nice here. All the teacher's are amazing too, which really helps make this place one big family," she said, as they walked into the Great Hall.
"I can't imagine what that would be like. Coming to a new school, with a new language. Do you speak any other languages besides French and English?" Emelyn asked, curiously.
Nodding she said, "I reckon you're right. You go to Ravenclaw, I'll go to Slytherin. Meet back here in a jiffy?" She turned from the girl and ran to her house table. Stuffing a napkin full of seven cinnamon biscuts, she crossed the room to where Belle was, by the Ravenclaw table.
"Do you want to eat in here, or do you want to walk around?"
Narrow Corridor || Closed || Belle, Emelyn
The delicious smell of cinnamon biscuits filled the corridors of Hogwarts. Students began to appear from all corners and were following the scent. The corridors began to become crowded with hungry teenagers.
“I’m really enjoying Hogwarts,” Belle said. “I’m learning a lot more than I would have done at Beauxbatons and everyone is nicer,” Her busy studying schedule had kept her mind at bay with the horrid memories of what had happened three weeks ago. It also helped that she had a bit of friendly competition in most of her classes with Hermione Granger who was the top of all her classes. Belle didn’t like being second place in anything and she was trying so hard to beat her.
“It’s not too much of a change, well apart from the fact that everyone speaks English instead of French,” she said with a grin. She had been practising her French in the Owlery lately to keep up with her fluency and skill.
“Looks like we’re going to have to rush to get some of the biscuits,” Belle said, gesturing to the crowds of famished students.

Emelyn wasn't a huge hugger but hugging Maia seemed almost second nature, like it would feel if Maia really was her own slightly younger sister.
"I know! When was the last time we talked? It feels like it was ages ago," Emelyn said, shaking her head back and forth. "Quidditch has been good as always. The team has been doing really well in practices so far. I think we might be able to snag the trophy this year," she laughed, smiling proudly. If there was one thing Slytherin Emelyn was proud about, it was her Quidditch Team. They were all excellent players.
"How's Sebastian?" Emelyn asked with a cheeky grin. When the other girl rolled her eyes, Emelyn added, "Hey! You asked me about one of my favourite things at Hogwarts. It's only fair if I ask you about one of yours." She bat her eyes innocently as she talked.
Choir Room || Closed || Reply Order: Emelyn, Maia
Maia was almost always early to choir. She tended to get there and then fiddle with the piano, working on her music. Today was no different. She was playing the piano when she heard the exclamation of her name, and she recognized the voice immediately.
She turned and smiled at Emelyn. She hadn’t seen her in quite a while, and she was dying to catch up with her. She got up from the piano stool and opened her arms to hug Emelyn. “Emelyn!” she said happily as she hugged the older girl.
She smiled as she pulled away. “It feels like forever since I’ve talked to you!” She said. “What have you been up to? How’s quidditch?”

Choir Room || Closed || Reply Order: Emelyn, Maia
Emelyn ran a lazy hand through her hair, trying to work out the last of its tangles. With her other hand, she ate the last few remains of her breakfast, a delicous blueberry muffin.
A glance at her watch ensured her that she still had fifteen minutes until she had to be in the choir room for early morning practice. For possibly the first time ever, she was going to be on time to the six in the morning practice, rather than just on time or even late.
As she rounded the last corner and walked into the choir room, she pleasantly surprised to see that the only person inside was Maia. Well she knew perfectly well she couldn't tell her about Sebastian's crush, she could give subtle hints. She never made any promises on not doing that.
"Maia!" Emelyn sung, dancing over to the younger girl.
