The Basics
Date: March 30, 2024
Guest arrival time: 3:30 PM
Location: The Paramour Estate
Located at 1923 Micheltorena Street in the Silverlake neighborhood of Los Angeles, this historic mansion was built by a silent film star and his wife to host lavish parties. Over time it's been a convent, a movie set, and the recording site of iconic My Chemical Romance album The Black Parade.
Overview: A ceremony will take place outdoors on the estate's great lawn, followed by a poolside cocktail hour. We will then have a seated dinner & burlesque show in the ballroom, followed by mingling, dancing and surprises in other rooms of the mansion for those who choose to venture.

What To Expect
Dress code: Dress your best! This is the time to pull out your most extravagant and unique looks. Whether that's formalwear, club kid looks, or traditional clothing is up to you. We only ask that you refrain from casualwear, white, and anything that would be inappropriate for any children in attendance.
Children: Children are welcome to come to the ceremony and cocktail hour, but the reception will be 18+ as there will be a burlesque show. We are happy to help any guests that need help finding local childcare.
Drinks: We won't be serving alcohol at this event. Instead, we'll have THC-based cocktails and soft drinks.
Access: While the estate is a historical building, we will have non-permanent accessibility modifications set up to make both the ceremony space and bathroom wheelchair accessible. Please inform us if you're attending in a wheelchair so we can make convenient seating arrangements accordingly.
Covid: We'll provide rapid tests for guests to take prior to attending, and require that all guests get a negative test before attending the wedding or any related events. Even if you test negative, please do not attend if you are experiencing any symptoms of covid-19.
Menu: Catering has not been chosen yet, but we will include vegan options and gluten-free options. Please let us know if you have any other dietary restrictions and we'll be happy to accomodate.
Parking: The venue will have valet parking available. We do have limited spots, so we appreciate carpooling when possible, but if families travel together we'll absolutely have enough for everyone.
For more details, please read the FAQ.

To help mitigate some of these costs we're going to be doing a few trips to drive groups of people from LAX to hotels on 3/28 based on arrival times, as well as encouraging rideshares. Use this spreadsheet to connect.
Hotels: We have two hotel blocks that have rooms booked out from the dates of 3/28 to 3/31, at the Super 8 and the Ramada. We recommend the Ramada for wheelchair users since we have more experience with it.

Rooms in both blocks are limited and must be booked by 3/14 at latest.

FAQ
Q: I'm unsure about my outfit.
If you need help with picking an outfit or are unsure if something is appropriate, reach out to Bill.
Q: What are accessibility details?
The steepest ramps are 2:12. There will be one entering the building and one between the ceremony space and the main area of the building. The bathroom is in the main area of the building. The ceremony is on a lawn space but we will be putting temporary tiling down for wheelchair users to navigate it. The entire first floor is open to guests so we will have multiple rooms including a quiet area during the reception.
Q: Can I bring a plus one?
We have limited space in the venue and we want to make sure all of our nearest and dearest are able to come, which means if you don't have a plus one on your invitation we cannot accommodate them. However, if you need a plus one for access support and you haven't already been given one please reach out.

Things To Do In The Area
Downtown Los Angeles
This is where the hotels in our room blocks are located so these are some great things to do if you don’t want to go far.
For art, you can check out The Broad which is a museum that's free to visit with reservations. Ongoing exhibitions include Jean-Michel Basquiat, Jenny Holzer, Andy Warhol, Barbara Kruger, Roy Lichtenstein, and many more iconic artists.
Grand Central Market is a great place to grab delicious food, as well as get unique jewelry and check out a vintage photo booth. On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday mornings they also have a bazaar featuring local makers.
The Last Bookstore is one of the largest independent bookstores in the country, and it's disabled owned. You can browse a large labyrinth of $1 books, find hidden passageways, view art galleries and book sculptures, as well as browse a large collection of vinyl records.
Little Tokyo has lots of options for shopping, eating, and usually spotting some great street fashion. Sunright Tea Studio has great boba, SomiSomi has delicious taiyaki soft serve, and stores like Popkiller, Q Pop, and Kinukuniya are fun shops to stop at.
Precinct DTLA is also a fabulous gay bar downtown that regularly hosts fun parties, drag shows, and events. Check the calendar on their website to see what's going on.
Echo Park
If you want something closer to the venue to explore before the ceremony, check out Echo Park Lake. There's beautiful scenery, animals, a small cafe, picnic tables and some swan peddle boats that you can rent to boat around the lake.
Hollywood
If you're willing to take a short drive of course we recommend checking out Hollywood! We live here so it's where we know the most to do.
La Brea Ave has vintage shopping. We especially recommend Golyester Vintage (which is where Lee got his wedding suit!) as well as The Way We Wore and Recess for browsing some iconic designer and high-end pieces.
If you're into history, we heavily recommend checking out the La Brea Tar Pits while you're in the area. It's a paleontologic excavation site and you can see a variety of fossils and recreations that bring prehistoric animals to life.
Melrose Avenue also has great vintage and modern stores, as well as amazing food. We love eating at Pink's Hot Dogs (a famous LA hot dog stand that's well worth it's long lines), Nomoo (great vegan burgers) and The Village Idiot (fish & chips). Crossroads Trading often has great deals on vintage and Posers LA has punk clothes and accessories, among many other fabulous stores on the street.
West Hollywood also has great gay bars, and gay restaurants, and gay mechanics, and gay dog groomers. You get the gist.
