“The image is an idea for volume 20 message paper that ended up getting scrapped. Even though I was about to finish it, there were too many characters and the image didn’t fit. I’ll go with another idea for the paper.

Everyone, which dream do you see normally? As for me, it’s ‘I did it! The manuscript is done!!!’, though, when I wake up, it’s still unfinished.

I hope you enjoy the last issue of Sunday for this year (2013). In this week’s chapter is the first meeting between Alibaba and Kouen since they fought together in Magnostadt. There will be a lot of new information to be revealed in this issue and in the next one, please read it attentively.

Thank you for keeping up with Magi this year. I owe it to you all being blessed with so many opportunities and it was a very happy year for me. I’ll do my best in this year as well and I hope it will be a great year for you.”

It’s worth noting that the stomach warmer with the (炎) character that Kouen is wearing is the same as the one in this entry.

“Starting from last week, the scene shiftted back to Aladdin and co.

After a long time has passed, so many characters became intertwined with one another. Along with Aladdin, please observe each party and their will that they want to assert (Note: The kanji 自己主張 is asserting oneself, I changed it to will for the sake of a natural translation)”

Another thing is, Koumei’s line is “uchi no hito=our person (Kouen)”. I decided to go with his “ani-ou-sama=my brother and king” that he’s always using to refer to Kouen.

Alibaba and Koumei (Night: 294.5)

Koumei: are you telling me to wear this? Alibaba: eh? Don’t you think this mask is cool-looking?

Koumei: your aesthetic sense is so lacking you could compete with my big brother (note: Koumei here is referring to Kouen as ‘big brother’ instead of ‘my brother and king’) Alibaba: then why don’t you choose one yourself, Mr Strategist? Koumei: it’s a big bother. As long as it covers my face, anything will do. Alibaba: what’s with thins guy?

Alibaba: you’re different from Kouen-san. Koumei: is that so? Alibaba: when I’m around Kouen-san, it feels like I must brace myself for something. Koumei: by that do you mean that he’s oppressive? Alibaba: to be more frank, yes.

Aladdin: what could it be? No, I mustn’t get my hopes up. It’s probably work-related, like magic transfer circle for trading between the continetens, or the magic research institute that the Kou Empire is going to establish with Magnostadt?

Aladdin: she did say something only I could do. Could it be that it’s a personal request?

Kougyoku (Aladdin’s imagination): I couldn’t ask anyone else. There’s a place that I want you to go with me. But don’t get carried away, would you?

Koumei: Alibaba-dono, please, stop talking to the dead while projecting their image to the sky (note: an iffy translation, but his refers to those scenes in anime and manga where a character looks up at the sky while thinking of someone who’s dead or they admire, and the face of that person appears above them in the sky)

Koumei (speaking from experience): you’ll be embarrassed if he comes back from the dead all of a sudden.

Alibaba: Koumei-san, your hair is long again.
