googling âjobs for autistic peopleâ and realising that everyone still thinks autistic people are either sheldon cooper or really tall toddlers

Was discussing fictional ocd vs real ocd with my mom and she was like no I know all that. I have ocd and it was absolutely demonic when I was a teen. Like

âYou shouldnât self-ID as ADHD/autistic, youâre turning a very real mental condition into a trendâ Ok then stop saying delulu. Stop speculating on which cluster C personality disorder the criminals you hear about on the news have. Stop saying âschizopostingâ and âacousticâ and âis it restarted?â Stop using âpsycopathâ and âsociopathâ as catch-all ways of calling someone a bad person. Stop saying âthe intrusive thoughts wonâ when you bleach your hair and then turn your nose up at people who suffer from very real, very scary urges of physical/sexual violence. Stop saying âIâm so OCDâ as a way of calling yourself neat. Stop treating BPD/ASPD/Bipolar as inherently abusive. Stop saying âOP I am living in your wallsâ without tagging for unreality. Stop diagnosing complete strangers youâve never met on r/AITA with NPD.
You first. If you donât want our disabilities to be treated like trends then stop belittling and minimising them. Iâll NEVER judge a person for trying find labels for their symptoms when an apathetic, racist, sexist, ableist healthcare system refuses to. But I will absolutely judge a hypocrite. Which a lot of you are

I've always reblogged posts about accessible and well maintained bathrooms as a form of solidarity because I am stupid and keep forgetting that I don't have a gallbladder anymore </3

isn't it insane though how schizophrenic people are viewed as violent and dangerous by the majority of society when in reality schizophrenic people are nearly 14 times more likely to be on the receiving end of violence than to be the perpetrators...

Obsessed with that one episode of house md where the patient cannot stop thinking about the bad memories and is thus Unable to forgive her sister... Because of OCD. I don't know. It's so tiny but so genuine. Yeah that's what it feels like.

There'll be a post like, "ableism is bad" and all the comments will be "yeah! Ableists are all sociopaths and narcissists!" "Ableists all live in their moms basements and don't contribute anything to society!"

Greetings bugs and worms!
This comic is a little different than what I usually do but I worked real hard on itâMaybe I'll make more infographic stuff in the future this ended up being fun. Hope you learned something new :)
If you are still curious and want to learn more about OCD, you can visit the International OCD Foundation's website. I also recommend this amazing TED ED video "Starving The Monster", which was my first introduction to the disorder and this video by John Green about his own experience with OCD.
The IOCDF's website can also help you find support groups, therapy, and has lots of online guides and resources as well if you or a loved one is struggling with the disorder. It is very comprehensive!
Reblog to teach your followers about OCD
(But also not reblogging doesn't make you evil, silly goose)
