A Look Back (pt.2)
A Look Back (pt. 2)
Evo stretched and slowly kept eating. He was at ease despite the memories. It had happened often enough that it no longer bothered him. He smiled, memories of Rat always did that.
“Oh wow you sure got some fancy armor!” Rat was like that, spoke whatever was on her mind at the time. “What are those spikey things on your helmet for?  Do you like….ram folks with them and impale them?” The question took him by surprise. Hunting for his next meal he had been stalking her for a bit, only to end up in a conversation with her. “No miss, they are more or less decorative.  Meant to make me look intimidating.” Maddie replied, “Oh…..would have been more neat if you used them to like...stab people. You know?” He couldn't help but smile, she was fearless and impulsive, it peaked his curiosity. He shrugged, at a loss how to reply. “What brings you to Westfall?  Not much around here but victims.” Said in such a way as to attempt to make the woman nervous, it was a complete fail. She just giggled, “I know right! Meeting someone here to rob some people! Wanna join us? You should join us.”
He chuckled, the memory bringing a smile to his face. “She is so utterly dangerous, you have to admire her. Impulsive like a child, but oh so dangerous”  Taking yet another piece of meat in hand he let his mind wander once more.
“Evonet, I forbid you to do this. You have given enough, and you have a child now. You can't just go running off to war. What will I do if you get killed?”  Evo embraced his wife, his hands gently sliding down her back. “I'll be fine love. Don't you go getting worried now. Isn't a Troll in the world that can take me out. I'll be home before you even know I was gone.”
He chewed the meat slowly, the recollection giving him pause. “Well...it wasn't a lie...exactly. I believed it when I said it.”  His thoughts shifted to when he had met his wife.
“Evonet, two gold says she turns you down outright.”  Evo turned and looked at his friend. “Two gold is worth it, just to try.”  Evo slid down the bar and stood next to what he thought was the most beautiful woman in the world. He smiled, looking all the fool and nervous. “Can I get you a drink miss?”  She turned her head to look at him, a faint smile on her face. “You've been looking at me for like two hours now, ‘bout time you asked me.”
It was his favorite memory, one that always made him happy.  He looked at what little remained of that poor farmer. “Let's leave on a happy note for a change huh?”  Not wanting to travel memory lane any further, he stood up and made his way back toward the chapel.

A Look Back
A Look Back.
Evo, as he is called by most, lapped up some more blood from his most recent kill.  He still thought of himself as a ‘him’, despite existing in a female body. “Fuck reality, reality sucks.” The few wounds he had suffered killing the farmer were small and inconsequential. Leaning back against a tree Evo became reminiscent, as had happened for years to him when he fed. The food did more than sustain the flesh of this female corpse he lived in. It fueled his memories, his desire to understand. His eyes closed, memories of times gone by came and went.
“Evonet, come along and let's take a walk.  You've done well in training the recruits as of late, are you ready for something more?”  Evo fell in line with his commander, an easy stride born of constant training and leading others. He perked a brow at his commander.  “Something more? I am at your command sir, you need only give the order.” Commander Halloway shook his head, “Not this time Evo. You have a family now, wife and child. The mission will be tough, many will die.”
The fighting was fierce, corpses everywhere.  High Elves, Humans and many Trolls had perished. He knew he shouldn't have been here, he was to old for this kind of work. He had accepted it only because Commander Halloway had asked him. Pain, incredible pain in his chest. His last thoughts dwelled on his wife and child as the Troll spear was driven through his chest.
Evo touched his hand to his chest, searching for the scar, only to inadvertently remind himself that there was a rather large set of tits where the scar would have been. “Breasts…..wonderful.”
“Daddy daddy daddy!   Do it again!” Evo picked up his child, holding his wrists he spun around. The child loved being swung around, the closest thing to flying he could get.  “You be careful with our child Evonet, you won't be getting another.” Evo gently set the child down, looking to his wife with a smile. He couldn't help but smile, he had no idea how he had been blessed with such a beautiful wife. Long raven colored hair, lush lips and the most beautiful set of eyes he had ever seen. Why the young woman was in love with a man twice her age he would never know.
Tearing another hunk of flesh from the corpse he continued to eat, letting the memories flow. He knew this was a mistake, never led anywhere good. Why was he going down this road again?  Because he knew he wanted the life back he had been cheated out of. “Memory lane doesn't lead anywhere Evo.”
Screams and abject terror, haunting visions of the Scarlet troops falling under his blade. Death and decay everywhere, Scarlet troops, their corpses riddled with disease and mortal injuries either raised immediately to now fight for the Lich King or exploded and absorbed to heal and augment the Death Knight. An endless need to cause suffering, a need to bury what memories remained after 2700 years in a grave. “Suffering!  Rise up and wipe the Scarlets from existence” He watched as the mindless corpses he raised flung themselves at the Crusaders, knowing that they would fall quickly and take a few with them when they did.
“Talk about an unfair advantage. Scarlets didn't stand a chance. Damn, never been in a fight since, that was so one sided.” He chuckled, only to find the change in pitch and tone that came with occupying a female body distorting. He was getting used to it, wasn't so bad.
