Anyone who says that Taylor Swift can’t sing has obviously not had their ears blessed by Wildest Dreams live at the Grammy Museum. Here you go.

“So um, I’ve been coming to play in Kansas City and you know, this general area, you guys have a really good general area going on. i’ve played about 35 times in this area, and you know, I’ve been coming here since I was 15 to play, and only recently have I been playing here in stadiums. And so, it’s always been amazing to come and see you, whether I was playing in a cafe or a bar or club or theater or arena or now, you know, a full capacity stadium that you guys were so nice to do! And so I want to say thank you, if you are from Kansas City, or from Kansas, or if you came from another state, if you came from Iowa, or Missouri, it’s just amazing to me still, looking out into the audience and seeing, I know this sounds ridiculous, but seeing this man people in one place still is like, ‘whoa!’ But the fact that you know, I’ve been here, you guys have a cool thing going on with Kansas, you could be doing anything with your Saturday night, it’s a nice fall evening, and uh, you know, I’ve been making music and writing songs since I was 12, and then I started putting out albums when I was 15, and I kind of went on this sort of predictable yearly schedule since I was 15: I’d make an album, put out the album, and go on tour. Make an album, put out the album, and go on tour. And I did that over and over again until we did this tour, our last tour was called the 1989 World Tour, did anyone go to that? Well welcome back! You know, after that tour, I really felt like not just musically but as a person, I needed to take some time to just figure out what kind of human being I wanted to be, what kind of life I wanted, because it felt like it feels like it’s a little harder to make decisions like that when you’ve got a spotlight on our all the time. So I took some time off, I did a lot of thinking about the concept of a reputation, you know when started making this album I knew I wanted to call the album reputation. So i did a lot of thinking about what our reputation actually does mean to us. And I think, I think one ting that probably all of us. [crackling] Is my mic cutting out? It’s cutting out a little? Yeah, it’s cutting out in’t it? One second, so I ave these in-ears and they’re talking to me, but they’re cutting out too. Wait, one second. Should I keep this mic or should I get a new one? Oh it! So it’s everything, it’s not just the mic! Fun fact, you know how it rained all week? They put up all the audio equipment in the rain yesterday, so I think something got wet or rained on maybe. We’re going to fix it though, don’t worry. I’m not going anywhere. You know, whenever we have technical difficulties, it’s like I feel like somebody is going to tell me in-ear what to do and then it just doesn't happen. So, is it ok if I just keep talking? Are you guys good with that? One second, I just have to ask a question. Unfortunately all of our communication, you have to hear it too. Sorry this is mind-numbingly boring. So, could I start a song, or is the audio stuff too messed up? One second. Should I just talk for awhile, or am I good to sing? They’re like 'Talk more.’ So we’re just going to keep talking about my feelings! Cause truthfully, I was not actually done with my story. I know it wasn't that exciting of a story, but I’m just going to try to remember where I was . So I go off and I start thinking about the concept of a reputation, about making this album that I knew was going to be about all the different facets of a reputation, and what I think it comes down to is that everyone here in this stadium, I think everyone is kind of looking for something that feels real to them, right? You’re looking for real friendship, right? Or someone who likes you for who you really are. Or real love, or real trust, or real honesty. And I think that one thing that comes into play when we start thinking about our reputation is if you feel like your reputation doesn’t feel real to you, if people are saying things about you that don’t seem true. And you get afraid that like, somebody could hear something fake about you and you could miss out on having a real friendship or real love. And so I think that all that stuff, Kansas City, I just think that it’s delicate, you know?”

Reputation Stadium Tour: Kansas City, Missouri (September 8th, 2018)
Well good evening, Kansas City, and welcome to the Reputation Stadium Tour!  It’s been such a fun tour and this is actually–after this show we have six shows left in America. And I wanna talk about something that you did that’s so nice of you to do. As I was walking to the stage, someone came up and told me,‘By the way, this crowd tonight broke the all time attendance record for this stadium.’ So, you did that, and every single one of us on this stage–whether it be band member, dancer, singer, crew or me–like, we all get to know that this is the most amount of people that have ever been in this stadium. Thank you for doing that!
