Xander stares at Lupine blankly, the silence he's always prone to drawing out uncomfortably. He doesn’t know how to respond to such a statement - doesn’t know how to comprehend it, either.
This world is already shockingly unusual in comparison to his own, and whilst he has learnt to expect the unexpected, some things still manage to take him by surprise. He finds it hard to believe there may be more waiting. The technology is so much more advanced, the people are dressed oddly, and even their personalities leave a lot to be desired. Xander has lost count of unpleasant conversations and unsavory words exchanged between him and strangers. It’s familiar in a way - only, here, the conflicts seem to spread much further and without real reason.

I hail from. I’m sure I can handle it for now.”
"If you’ve truly been here for as long as you claim... please, answer
me this: why hasn't anyone tried establishing some sort of order?"

“…Many battlefields. Your nose doesn’t lie to you.”
He’d almost be impressed if it wasn’t such an unexpected and unwanted reminder. Xander did not want to forget about Nohr; the people, the land, they would all remain forever in his heart. However… the countless lives lost and the grueling wars fought are perhaps some of the few things he is willing to leave behind, though it seems that wont be so easy. His features are war torn and those who know such signs by heart aren’t likely to ignore them.
“But, please, know that I mean no harm now. My fighting days are behind me.”
“….That is what they tall say, but in the end, you’ll end up fighting again
in this city. I’ve been here for five times already so I know that fighting
will happen.”
Lupine eyes look at the sky for a moment, as if awaiting another portal of mass destruction that would render them all into another world or bring out monsters again the amalgation of every citizen in this place.
“Your going to see a lot of strange things here.”

There was a point in his life that he took orders blindly; it resulted in more violence than it should’ve in the name of progress.
Even now he has to wonder how many of Garon’s orders actually had any logic behind them.

Those living within the slums aren't quite so fortunate; even then, their clothes don't vary that much in style, only in the materials they're made of and the overall quality. He could go into ridiculous amounts of detail but perhaps now isn’t appropriate for a lesson in social statuses.

“I’d prefer people dressing like fairy tale royalty to what I’ve dealt with any day. I mean, really, the novelty of a lady dressing like a pharaoh’s mistress wears off pretty quickly in a serious context.”
“Fashion aside, it’s not like talking can solve everything. Some people need a good hit to the face to set them straight.”

War and blood stains the man scent. His nose cannot lie and so this man, brings back a plethora of memories known only to him. Humans, and their wars, but its not like werewolves were any better, since they too participated in the wars that followed. The sins of his past, though were not quiet as heavy as the regret of it all.
