22 May 2023. A moment in the day. Coming across the three Pekin sisters waiting patiently on the garden path for Plum who is head down exploring something in the garden bed. There is something so calm and understanding between an older flock of hens who have lived together for several years. A turn around the garden takes as long as it does. Snow! Our darling Snowbell is broody. I have been thinking about her a lot today since I wasn’t able to walk up to the henhouse. Sometimes a moment in the day can’t be documented with a photo can it. It is thinking of a memory, that moment thinking of someone or in this case Snowbell. It’s talking to a dear friend on the phone this morning and laughing together, gosh that is so good isn’t it! This photo of Snowbell was taken yesterday, straight after Michael took her off the nest. To say she was affronted is an understatement. But then with such an element of suprise, just like running into an old friend on the street, Snow looked up and saw me, happy as a clam and eager to share her news. Ever so chatty. 17 May 2023. A moment in the day. I had one of those moments today that followed into several moments of it feeling all a little surreal that it is finally coming together. A tidy desk, a to-do list, fine art prints to order, a thank you card and Certificates of Authenticity to send, editing a wonderful interview for the Interview Series and Lil proof reading it for me, photographing a new postcard series for the etsy shop, editing wallpaper, Lil helping me with new Etsy listings and resending a message to make sure a customer knew their prints were waiting for them at the post office. A day in the life of the shopkeeper at Fairy Wren Cottage and I am the shopkeeper. It is a dream come true and a modern day version of being a shopkeeper, I’ll take it gratefully, I’m here for the long haul.
