Frank Sinatra and his relation with the Mafia - Carolina Antunes
In the 20s, “Prohibition” took place in the USA, a governmental initiative to lower the alcohol consumption of the American population, reduce crime and corruption, solve social problems, reduce the tax burden created by prisons and poorhouses, and improve health and hygiene in America. A nationwide constitutional law was created prohibiting the production, importation, transportation, and sale of alcoholic beverages. However, people ended up drinking more. And the mafia took over the underground that supplied the “booze”. Apart from that, this violent mafia also supported many famous artists of the time because of their big influence in the speakeasies. One of the artists supported by the mafia during the Prohibition was Frank Sinatra.
The rock star of jazz, Frank Sinatra, was revealed as part of criminal activities just after his death . No sooner had he died, FBI’s documents disclosed an investigation about alleged Communist and Molister ties. The USA committed years of investigation into Sinatra's case.  The Investigation started in Washington, with the concern about the effect of his music on the  American youth. He played a significant role in unifying American music. America at that time was segregated, and Frank Sinatra, as a civil rights advocate, made sure black musicians were treated just like he was.
The report released by the FBI accuses Sinatra of having maintained links with Mafia bosses with clandestine casino operations in Las Vegas. It raises the hypothesis that he was a member of the Communist Party. A document, dated 1971, includes Sinatra's name along with those of essential members of organized crime, such as Aniello Dellacroce, Carlo Gambino, and Giuseppe "Joe" Gallo, in a list of people who allegedly made a plan to extort US$100 thousand from Ronald Alpert, a former stock exchange trader. Links to the Mafia are also brought to light in other documents. Sinatra and two of his partners, Jilly Rizzo and gangster Gambino, reportedly lost around US$100,000 when speculating on the Stock Exchange. The report features a photo from '76, in which the singer poses alongside gangsters Gregory De Palma, Thomas Marson, Carlo Gambino, Jimmy "The Weasel" Fratianno, and Richard "Nerves" Fusco in a New York theater.
Frank Sinatra went to the Mafia Havana Conference in 1946. This conference is a historic meeting of United States Mafia and Cosa Nostra leaders in Havana, the Cuban capital. According to El País magazine, the media of the time reported that he was escorted by Charles “Lucky” Luciano, part of the Italian-American mafia, known for having arranged the meeting. Sinatra performed at the event.
Once again, he was involved in a violent incident with the journalist Lee Mortimer, who was responsible for some of the most scandalous articles that alleged his connections to the mafia. Mortimer was known for a series of books detailing US confidential crimes. He was so discreditable because of his sensational tone. He used “nonfactual accounts of alleged crime-politics links, vice, and scandal,” according to The New York Times.
In conclusion, the mafia had a significant influence on the criminal activities related to alcohol consumption during Prohibition. And because that artist connected with it, the speakeasies were a blast of that time. And jazz was a tool to attract more people. A music genre that had more secrets linked to it than we know.

Napoleon builds an army
Nathalie and André
Napoleon was tired of Snowball’s idea of creating committees and trying to educate the animals. He thought Snowball was a delay. They had completely different ideas to command the farm, and Napoleon was sure that one of them had to take over. He was aware that Jessie and Bluebell were about to have the babies, and that was his first move. The nine little puppies were born, and Napoleon took them to raise and educate them.
The pig took the babies to a place that could only be reached by a ladder. He made a comfortable place, with hay all over the ground to keep it soft. In the first few weeks, he demanded most of his time with the puppies, making them see Napoleon as their parent, the one who raised them, and who they will trust. Every day, after the milking of the cows, Napoleon stole almost every bucket of milk and took it to the puppies. Soon they started talking and Napoleon began teaching them the seven commandments. Well, not specifically the seven commandments, he had changed some things. The normal commandments are:
Whatever goes upon two legs is an enemy.
Whatever goes upon four legs, or has wings, is a friend.
No animal shall wear clothes.
No animal shall sleep in a bed.
No animal shall drink alcohol.
No animal shall kill any other animal
All animals are equal.
Napoleon's ideas, and what he was teaching the puppies:
All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than other
Napoleon didn’t care about drinking alcohol, wearing clothes, or sleeping in a bed. He thought intelligent animals were better, and by intelligent, he meant animals who agreed with him.
So Napoleon's plan started with raising the puppies, and then the plan was carried out with the other animals. Since the puppies would have strength and anger when they grew up, Napoleon could use the violence of the puppies in his favor to gain power on the farm.
While teaching the puppies he told things about Snowball, to make his image look bad. First of all, Napoleon said he discovered Snowball had plans to take over the farm, and that he needed the puppies to become strong and stop him, even if they have to kill Snowball.
Months passed and the dogs had grown. The winter was at its peak, and Snowball started his windmill plans. He had done research, and drawings and chosen the place. They were actually a good idea. But Napoleon disagreed. It couldn't enter his mind that Snowball was even thinking about building the windmill, because it was too much work and it wouldn't make much difference. He went to speak with the dogs and they immediately agreed with him. That’s when he knew the time had come. When Snowball presents his plan, the dogs will interfere and expel him.
Napoleon made a grunt, a strange one. He told the dogs to enter the room as they heard it.
The sunday had come. Every animal was there to hear about Snowball's windmill plan. The sheeps, one of Napoleon's supporters, started annoying Snowball by saying “four legs good, two legs bad”. Snowball got furious and said other good things about the windmill until he heard a grunt he and the other animals had never heard before. One second later Snowball wasn't on the farm anymore, and Napoleon was in charge.
Some time passed by and they constructed the windmill. Napoleon said it was his idea and the animals believed. But something was annoying him, he was mistrusting some animals that were being rebels. With the ambition of power, Napoleon got all those animals that betrayed him killed. But Napoleon did not get blood on his paws, it was the dogs, who received the command and killed all those that Napoleon ordered, without question at any moment, showing that they were educated only to obey even if the order was to kill another animal.

A Fight for Liberty
Synopsis:
What would have happened if Benjamin had convinced Boxer and the other animals to rebel against Napoleon, and the other pigs? Animal Farm showed us that Benjamin, the donkey, was very smart, maybe more intelligent than the pigs. However, he didn’t do anything to stop the pigs and their authoritarian system of government. In our fanfic, we will tell the animal farm’s story from Benjamin's perspective and show all of his thoughts about what was happening on the farm.
A Fight for Liberty
At that time, things were getting out of control, the pigs were taking over the farm in every aspect, and they even had control over the animal's minds, well, at least over most of the animals. But few animals knew something was wrong, and I was the first to notice it. We had never seen anything of this kind before. Even within Mr, Jones's time. No animal should be killed by another one, yet the pigs got in power and felt free to murder every animal who questioned their authority. The animals were constantly being manipulated by Squealer, poor animals, they could not think for themselves, always believing everything they hear.
The fear of death, and the support Napoleon had from the animals, who were being manipulated, were the only things maintaining Napoleon and the pigs in power. But this needed to change. I could not let Napoleon do this to us again, I had to do something before things got worse.
Before the slaughters I was convinced that I could not do anything significant, to change our situation, in fact, if I had tried alone I would have been killed. But after seeing my friends get slaughtered by the pigs, I decided to do something, because, at that time, it mattered little if I would succeed or not, we would not stand much more with the pigs in power anyway.
To make this happen, I needed the support of the animals, but I would do it without manipulating them, this was because they would either support me and the cause or accept living under the pig's jurisdiction. I had to convince them that if we stood together we could overthrow the pigs. I knew that it would be hard, I didn't want to make miracle promises that we would live in a perfect world where anyone needs to work and everyone has free food. This was not what the revolution was aiming for, the aim was a world where with work and effort you could do what you want. A third way, a system where we could be truly free to do what we want without interfering with others’ freedom. A system with which we could all prosper to a better life, at least better than our lives within Napoleon or Mr. Jones's time.
After the murders, I went to see Boxer. He hadn’t realized that Napoleon was the one who sent those dogs to kill him, poor Boxer. Without him there would be no windmill, no revolution, and no Animal Farm, he was the only one who truly worked. Sadly, he was blind to see that this whole time he was working for the wrong animals.
He had the strength and the determination I lacked to overthrow Napoleon, but what he lacked was vision and perception to see that the pigs were controlling him. That's why he was indeed me, and I needed him. So, I thought that by talking to him I could make him see what was really happening, and let the spark of this new rebellion catch fire.
I went to his place and started talking to him. At first moment, he did not believe that it was Napoleon who sent those dogs to kill him, he would not simply ignore his maximum “Napoleon is always right”. So I needed to explain to him what had happened on the farm since the revolution. I had to make him remember that it was not for this that he had fought before the Rebellion, that he fought for a life with more freedom, a life on which all the animals were equal. I explained to him my ideas of a new revolution and a farm where the animals could be truly free. His reaction was exactly what I had expected it to be, it's impossible to realize that you have been manipulated for the last few years without getting angry.
After talking with Boxer I went to my place to make a plan. Making a revolution wouldn't be so simple. Having an idea was not enough, we had to have a plan to overwhelm Napoleon and his dogs, but with Boxer, everything would be easier. The plan consisted of making a celebration for the new era of Animal Farm, marked by Napoleon’s ascension to the leadership of the farm. Well, at least that is what we wanted Napoleon to think.
We would prepare a great banquet with a lot of food and whiskey, but just for the pigs, to let them get drunk. After they get drunk, we would jump on them and attack them, since they would be less cautious because of the effect of the alcohol. The only problem I had predicted was the dogs, to make a successful attack against Napoleon we would need to handle the dogs first.
The next day I secretly gathered all the animals and explained my ideas for a new revolution. After I finished speaking, some animals were full of hope (something I was not used to seeing), and some were scared because after all, they knew how cruel Napoleon could be. I made a plan to handle the dogs. After Napoleon and the other pigs got drunk we would give food to the dogs inside the room, and when all of them got inside we would lock the room with the dogs inside. After this, we would be free to take Napoleon and the other pigs down.
On the next day, all the animals were acting strange. We had planned to make the revolution on Saturday, but we had already made the invite for the pigs. We gave the invite to Squealer in the afternoon after everyone’s work was already done. He seemed to be very surprised and happy at the same time, Squealer wouldn’t say no to a fest with a lot of food and whiskey. On Friday morning, before the work started, Napoleon came in public to make a speech, he said he was very thankful for the invitation and he, and the other pigs, would go to the fest, but with one condition. He demanded that the dogs supervised the whole ceremony.
Friday was a very busy day. We had to make a lot of things, first, we managed to sell some wheat for buying food and whiskey. Then we organized the fest and the room where the dogs were supposed to get locked later. After a lot of work, mainly from Boxer, everything was done and ready for the ceremony.
All the animals were already prepared when Napoleon arrived with the other pigs. The hardest part was to make everything look natural for Napoleon and the other pigs. Everything was going well, Napoleon had eaten some food and drank some whiskey, but he was not drunk yet. The dogs were standing right in front of the door when I went to talk to Napoleon. We talked for a while and I said to Napoleon that it was time to feed the dogs, and without noticing my intentions, he agreed. I offered to do the job, but he refused. He wasn't drunk enough to let go of his cautiousness, but yet I insisted, and after two or three more cups of whiskey, Napoleon agreed.
If I said that I was not scared I would be telling a lie. The dogs were big, strong, and had sharp teeth. I grabbed some food at the table and whistled at the dogs to follow, but they kept still until Napoleon made a signal with his pawn. At that point, the pigs were so drunk that they didn't notice that I was drawing the dogs to the farmhouse, and once I got there I threw the food inside and locked the door after all the dogs had run to catch the food.
Immediately, all the dogs started barking and making a lot of noise, and everyone at the table heard it. It was the signal for the animals to attack Napoleon, and in less than a second, all the animals jumped upon the pigs and started beating them. Most of the pigs were too drunk to fight back, and the ones that fought lost their lives. Boxer was absolutely unbeatable, and the pigs were outnumbered. Most of the pigs were dead, except for Napoleon and Squealer, who were arrested and had their paws tied up with ropes so they could not escape.
When I came back to the table, the animals gave me the honor to end Napoleon’s and Squealer’s life, and so I did, in a much more merciful way than the way pigs used to kill. The revolution was done.  We were all excited about the start of a new era for Animal Farm. A new era of liberty and democracy. On the next day, I gathered all the animals to explain how things would work. After some time discussing, we agreed that we should turn the barn into a parliament, a place on which some animals, who were elected by the other animals, should debate important subjects of the farm, and take important decisions. Animal Farm became an example of farms all over England. The animals became much more free than they had ever been before, and established good relations with Frederick and Pilkington. Animal Farm was prospering much more than it ever did, and continued prospering for many years later.

The rise to power
Synopsis
Have you read the book Animal Farm? If you did, you know that Napoleon’s mind is not shown to the reader at any point in the book. So, the question comes up: How would the book go if we could understand Napoleon’s thoughts, instead of just the other animal’s? To answer this question, the fanfic “The rise to power” was written. This narrative tells the story of Animal Farm, but from Napoleon’s perspective. Why did he do such atrocities? What was he thinking when he took over the power? What were his desires? That is what you are going to discover while reading this fanfic.
The rise to power
The meeting had started and Snowball was the first to talk, his victory in the debate seemed inevitable as most animals on the farm agreed with his ideas. As the speech went on, Napoleon stood at the back of the stage, silent, listening, and he would roll his eyes as Snowball vomited his stupidities at the crowd. It had its comic, seeing this little pig run back and forth on the stage, shouting frantically about the windmill, less work, more food and other of his crazy ideas. Such a fool, thought Napoleon, taking the dogs was certainly a genius move and this idiot couldn’t even predict it! He laughed inside, and laughed even more when the sheep started to cry “Two legs bad, four legs good” and interrupted Snowball’s speech. On the outside, though, he maintained a bored look, so that nobody would perceive he was putting in action his evil plan. He had already convinced the great majority of the other pigs to join him in the new revolution, and the ones he couldn’t, well, they wouldn’t escape his prison. Except… they had actually just entered the barn! How did they escape Napoleon didn’t know, all he knew was that he needed to rush the plan before they warned Snowball
At this moment Snowball had just finished his speech, and now all animals were looking at him waiting for his own. Napoleon didn’t have time to think, he blew his whistle and called the dogs. They ran towards Snowball as fast as the wind and the poor fool fled the farm through a hole in the fence. As the dogs chased Snowball, all the other animals left the barn, and suddenly, Napoleon saw himself alone, the laughter stopped, and the voices started, the air left his lungs, his heart tightened. As his mind spinned, he ran from the barn towards the rest of the group.
The rest of the plan went very well, Squealer calmed the animals and told them that Snowball was a traitor, and he had a pact with Mr. Jones so they could take over the farm, and that act from Napoleon was necessary. Napoleon amused himself with the idea of ruling the entire farm, having a bigger production and making the farm and his name grow.
He started by abolishing all the meetings. Now, all animals would go on Sundays to the big barn to receive their week’s orders. They would finish singing beasts of england one time and then they would go to work. Little by little, Napoleon increased the working time and hardness and also diminished their rations. When any animal started having doubts, Squealer remembered Boxer’s motto “I’ll work harder!” and “Napoleon is always right”. He also used the old fear technique, by telling them that if they don’t do what was ordered, Jones would come back. Such dumb animals who belive in those idiots arguments… But it worked so well!
Beyond that, everything that went wrong on the leading of the farm would be putten in Snowball’s hands, which gave more legitimacy to Napoleon. His plan was just perfect. Of course, there were those who, sometimes, didn’t agree with what was happening, like when the hens didn't want to give their eggs to be sold to Man. This was easily solved, by using force and repression. His victory was just inevitable, he could do whatever he wanted. He even changed the 7 commandments to “All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others”! The animals were easily manipulated.
Now, he also could do business with Mr. Pilkingtom and other farmers. The only problem was that Napoleon cheated in a card game and Mr. Pilkingtom started a fight with him, but  Mr. Pilkingtom clearly was going to lose.

Long Live the Animal Farm
By Gustavo T. Loreto and Rafael Cutolo
What if the battle of the cowshed had failed?
During the battle of the cowshed, when it was time to attack, some animals heard the sound of a whistle and thought that a was signal, so two horses, one cow and Squealer had gone to attack the men, confused why they were the only ones who had gone to attack, these animals were easily beaten by the men. realizing that his plans had failed, Snowball didn’t know what to do and since the men were getting too close, the pig took the drastic measure of running to the woods, what will happen with the animals now?
Story:
Long live the Animal Farm.
As the men saw the animals had retreated, as sign of celebration, one of the man took out a whistle of his pocket and he blew it, the hens, the dogs and some of the sheeps started running scared, they topped with the some of the cows and Squealer, who wasn’t concentrate, thought it was time to attack, so, since they were all disorganized, they were all easily beaten by the men. Snowball had to find a quick way to retrieve this attack, but after seeing all those animals getting beat so easily, he was shocked and gave the command to the animals to retreat a little bit more, but when they were doing it, Jones gave two shots towards their direction. The only option left was to run to the woods.
There were few animals left, some were hit by Jone’s shots, a lot got lost in their way to the woods, the only ones who were together and safe were Snowball, Napoleon, Benjamin, Boxer, Clover and some of the dogs. For the first two days, the last animals stayed “living” under a tree. Snowball remembered a cousin of his, Tyna, who lived in a farm which wasn’t that far away from their Animal Farm and was managed by an old man called mr.Henry, who was very old and didn’t have any descendant to give his farm.
The animals arrived secretly at Rose Farm (as it was called since mr.Henry was a great gardner), by entering in the “secret door” behind the farm’s barn, where they topped with a mare breasting her children, Snowball said to her that he was a friend of Timothy and asked if it was possible to call him. Timothy was a Large White pig and hadn’t anything special on him, when he arrived at the end of the day after his labor, Snowball started to talk with the pig and told him all they had been through and how angry he was with men for taking his farm.
Timothy thought that for the animals to beat man, it was necessary that all of them get together, because, in his words, a gun is worth two animals. Hearing what his cousin had said, Snowball had an idea and said to gather all the animals in the barn, he had a big announcement to give.
When all the animals were in the barn, most of them were confused about what happened to make this reunion. When Snowball and the other animals from Animal Farm arrived in the center of the barn, the ones who were confused got even more confused, the pig, after asking for silence, started talking.
“Comrades, most of you may not know me, my name is Snowball, I'm Timothy’s cousin. Me and my partners are from the, as you must know, Manor Farm and, yes, that’s the one where we took over the control, but I’m not here to gloat about anything, I am here to talk about our  biggest problem nowadays, man. Man thing they can do whatever they want to, just because they have hands and a superior intellect, I’m already sick of it, I saw other comrades dying because of the superiority man put above us, we must take action once and for all, we must show man that we all are stronger than him, so you all repeat with me: “Four legs good, two legs bad”
At the first moment, the only ones who repeated were the animals who had come with Snowball from the Animal Farm, but when Timothy started shouting it too, the other pigs, then the dogs and then every animal in the barn started shouting in one voice.
Hearing all that noise, mr.Henry went to the barn to see what was going on there, when he opened, the old man got paralyzed from seeing all the animals shouting and, because of it he almost immediately fell down. Most of the animals thought they had killed mr.Henry, but Snowball said to bring the man to him. After a few moments, the old man woke up and Snowball told him to run away and tell the others that the Animal Farm is stronger than ever.
For the next few months, the animals, most commanded by Snowball, started to prepare for an attack by the men. Some of the animals still had doubts about their commander, but Timothy always said to them to trust in Snowball, he knows what he’s doing. As all the attention was directed to the attack, all the animals, even the hens, were being trained for the attack, because of it, most of the animals weren’t actually working and so the food wasn’t much, but was still enough for some months.
A month passed, everything was ready for the attack, now they just have to wait until the men come. If there wasn’t enough food before, now there is even less. Some of the animals, like the horses who needed a lot of food, were getting pretty weak, even Boxer wasn’t in his best shape.
Another month passed, and as some animals were starting to die of bad nutrition, so, as a drastic measure, Snowball assigned different tasks to the animals who could still work to produce food for them, even some of the dogs had to, since they were the ones with the most energy to do it.
On night at the same month, the sound of firing gun was heard, thinking it was the men attacking, all the animals took their position, but when they got there, the only thing happening was mr. Henry supported by a cane and shooting his gun to the sky, they easily scared him and he runned away. After seeing that waiting for the men to come wouldn’t be something that would go right, Snowball decided that they would be the ones to attack, so he made a plan where they would attack his previous farm.
Snowball’s plan, was that they would attack at night and they would first start to “free” the animals in the barn, then, all of the animals together would stand in front of Jones's house and start shouting: “Four legs good, two legs bad”, once Jones and his went out of the house the shouting should stop, and one of the dogs would walk towards mr.Jones and “seduce” him with his sad face and once it approach close enough of to him, the dogs bites the man in the hand and runs into the house, than it would be the perfect time to attack.
The animals who went with Snowball to the 1° Animal Farm were the horses, the dogs and the cows, Timothy and Napoleon stayed at 2° Animal Farm, to maintain the order there. They take a little too much time to get to their destiny, but once they got there, everything occurred as planned. When Jones and his men got out from the house two of them were carrying guns and one who was carrying a gun was mr. Jones, that’s why the dog end up biting him in the leg instead of the hand, in the same moment he dropped the gun and Snowball gave the signal to attack, the men were destroyed by the animals and instead of letting they go and had the chance to attack again, Snowball gave orders to kill the man and expose their bodies in front of the farm so the men think twice before attacking their land.
The next day, Snowball asked all the animals from both Animal Farms to gather in 1° Animal Farm, in the place where Old Major gave his first speech. Snowball had a big announcement to say.
“Comrades, I gather you all here to say how happy I am to see that we finally get rid of men from both farms once and for all, but I must say to you our battle is not over yet, there are still too many like us that still suffer in the hands of the oppressors with two legs, and we cannot and must not rest until every animal feel the sweet taste of freedom. At the moment there are only 2 Animal Farms, but my wish, that I hope it’s yours too, is to raise this number until every animal in the country be free and then, only then, we can all shout together in one voice: ‘Long live the Animal Farm!’ “

Pinchfield farm
Synopsis
What if the story was set in Pinchfield?
While the events in Animal Farm were happening,  things were also happening in Pinchfield, a farm near Animal Farm/Manor Farm. In the past the farm was having problems with money, the farm was not producing enough and the owner had to sell part of it to Mr. Pilkington, the owner of PInchfield. Later, Pinchfield's owner died and the farm was abandoned and in a bad condition...until Mr. Frederick came. He owned the farm and claimed to make Pinchfield great again, like it was once, but at what cost
Mr. Carlson, of Pinchfield had locked the hen-houses, and the barn for the night. He went back to his house to sleep. He was old and he wasn’t able to take care of the farm, which he sold a part to Mr. Pilkington from Foxwood, unfortunately, his business enemy, because the farm business wasn't in a very good state, After a few days without Mr. Carlson, the farm was barren, it had no more farmable land and all the once fat healthy animals were starving, it seemed as though all the humans had left, as he saw this scene, Mr. Frederick and his companions, mainly Mr. Cohen, thought of how much of a shame this was, and with the shame of Pilkington taking place in a bit of the farm, they took over Foxwood and claimed to make the farm great and productive again.
After Mr.Frederick took over the farm their animals were hearing about the rebellion that happened in Animal Farm, and Mr.Frederick started to be worried if this could happen in his farm too, and he thought that the pigs were planning something.
The next day all the animals woke up earlier because one of the establishments of the farm was on fire, nobody knew what had caused this or who, but later Mr. Cohen, one of Mr.Frederick companions, appeared and said that the pigs were responsible for it.
The pigs, some of the most irresponsible animals around the country, have fired the windmill tonight! With help from the chickens, who are worse than rats! Those disturbing and bad animals fired the windmill just to provoke us! - said Frederick after Mr. Cohen 's accusation.
The animals trusted Cohen and Frederick, the pigs weren't the most loved animals from there, as the chickens, but with this accusation and the revolution occurring in Manor Farm, they started to shame the pigs in Mr. Frederick's command.
The animals were fooled, it wasn’t the pigs and the hens who put fire on the building, but it was Mr. Frederick and Mr. Cohen, they had set the fire on the building, it was all part of their genius plan to blame the pigs and use it to justify their regime, but also to prevent a rebellion.
The rumors of the rebellion on animal farm were spreading fast, in Pinchfield any animal that was in favor of the rebellion could be considered an enemy, Mr.Frederick and Cohen had declared that animals helping the rebellion should be arrested, and there were also rumors about what happened with some animals that tried to contest Mr. Frederick regime, and their fate was much more terrible than just being arrested, so the climate on the farm was not good, the animals were suspicious of others and accused others of being part of the rebellion, and were afraid of what might happen if they didn't.
The next day a detention center was being built for the animals that supposedly would have set fire on the building, and supposedly had started a rebellion. The chickens and pigs were forced to build it. For many and many days the chickens and pigs were forced to carry blocks, wood and other things like metal bars for the cellar doors to finally construct the place, and across this time many animals died from tiredness and even crushed by the blocks.
Many days later, even though the bad insurgences, the detention center was constructed, and in the next day Mr. Frederick called some of his dogs to his house, the dogs were strong and they could kill almost any animal in Pinchfield, any animal who disagrees with Mr. Frederick could be attacked by one of the dogs, that’s why Mr.Frederick had them.
A few months later the animals that were arrested started to be killed by the dogs, the other animals were afraid but they questioned it, they wanted to know why they were being killed, and Mr.Cohen replied, he said that they were traitors and were trying to bring the revolution to Pinchfield and they had to die. he also said that the pigs are being equal to the Manor Farm pigs, so they had to be stopped.
In the next day, at midday, the dogs took ten chickens, trapping them in strings so no one would have a chance to escape. But, surprisingly, some chickens that had their sons strung by the dogs started to protest and claim their sons back, but the dogs didn't let this pass. Two dogs runned at these other chickens and tore one of them apart to pieces! The blood was everywhere, and all of the other animals seeing the scene stayed very scared, taking little steps behind. One of the chickens runned away, but Mr. Frederick shoot him and killed the chicken, after it  Mr. Cohen grabbed the chicken and splattered it on the ground and said:
Now all the hens have to be hunted,  arrested and forced to work, and every animal who protests against it shall be killed.
Now, dogs take the other hens to the detention center tomorrow. - Said Mr. Frederick.
Some hours later, the chickens were into the detention center, and there, Mr. Frederick started to torture they in all ways, electric shocks, great burns and knife cuts. The animals screamed a lot, so it was possible to hear, and Chicken Little heard, and talked to the other few chickens.
These screams…I'm certainly that Mr. Frederick is torturing our brothers and sisters! -said some hens that were hiding,
All the hens that were hiding stayed scared, and started to organize themselves to put Frederick down.
The farm was now producing more than ever did, because now the animals were forced to work in the detention center, which turned into a labor camp. Every time Cohen said something he mentioned the increase of the production, to legitimize the work in the labor camp by saying that the far will have more money and the animals would work less, and all the animals were believing in Cohen, except for the ones who were being hunted or were already working on the labor camp.
As the days were passing, the things there went in a more complicated situation, with the chickens trying to take Mr. Frederick and Mr. Cohen down everytime.
To take out the stress, Mr. Frederick went to the Red Lion bar months after his power-take, and there he met with Mr. Pilkington, his mortal enemy, the owner of Foxwood, and Mr. Jones of the Manor Farm, who was passing through problems too. Mr. Frederick decided to help Mr. Jones, they tried to take back the Manor Farm, but they failed.

What will Benjamin think about this? That is what you are going to see in the fanfic Männerfarm.
Francisco Bertoncini and Fernando
fanfic:
Männerfarm
The animals, now terrified, saw the destruction of their reconstructed windmill. In shock, they could only throw themselves into the humans coming, there was nothing else to do.
During the bloody battle of the Windmill, Napoleon and Squealer were just watching their brave animals, fighting for Napoleon’s farm which could not be placed under Mr. Frederick’s hands, otherwise, they would be completely massacred by the men and their guns.
It is all lost, many of them died, Boxer, unfortunately, was shot in his guts by a man, and again, all were paralyzed watching the situation. Clover ran into him, crying for help, but instead of help, one of Mr. Frederick’s men comes next to him, and then, a bullet comes through his skull, being killed instantly.

Now, Napoleon turns into Mr. Frederick tried to enter into an accord between the two sides, however, nothing went forward, and now, Animal Farm is under men’s hands once again, turning his name to Männerfarm.
The next day, Napoleon and Squealer suddenly disappeared. Benjamin tried to look for both, but they are nowhere to be seen. Animals, again, enter in panic, seeing that there was no one that would protect them from the men, and now, a new men place orders in the house, Mr. Reichenau, which ends with the seven commandments, creating new rules within his power:
All animals and men must follow in Mennismus
All animals must be pure
All animals must give men 70% of their crop as reparations
All animals All animals must salute for Mr. Frederick’s glory
From then on all the remaining animals on the farm had to work for the humans, without the food necessary for them, their life began struggling, and whoever disobeyed men or tried to run away from the farm, was killed in front of the destroyed windmill, to show the other animals how to obey men.
Even though the government changed, the animal’s lives changed little to nothing, old Benjamin started noticing it, which between Napoleon’s era and now, Mr. The Reichenau government, little to nothing changed, being the rations about the same, the amount of work of the animals, still was about the same, so Benjamin noticed that their poor animal lives would never change, rather it would be an Animal Farm, or a Men's Farm.
News now runs through the animal's hands, Napoleon and his comrade Squealer fled the farm during the battle of the windmill! Animals are outraged with the situation, they cannot believe that Napoleon ran out the farm at its most important time, Benjamin realizes that most of the animals were being manipulated by Napoleon and his comrades, something that no one could realize during Napoleon’s regime. The news seems to work, many of the animals seem to believe in the new “Mannismus” ideas.
Now animals just follow Mr. Reichenau's ideas, working really hard, but really tired for the reconstruction of the Windmill and feared something would happen to them. They now see Napoleon as a tyrant, a coward that didn’t protect their farm in the most important time, running away from problems. Many of the animals now reject their old Animalism to be placed in the new society, avoiding something worse.
Glossary:- Männerfarm = Man’s Farm (in German) (represents an German protectorate/Russia being dominated by Germans)
- Mannismus = Mennalism (in German) (Animalism, but for Men, representing in the real world Nazism)
- Mr. Reichenau = An ideal of a German Field Marshal who invaded the Soviet Union (Walter Von Reichenau), and now, commanding Russia.

Master of puppies
synopsis: “Do not think, do not persist, do not question me” said Napoleon. The dog and his comrades have lived with Napoleon since they can remember, and he always tells them to listen to him and do what he tells them to do. Since they can remember, not doing what he tells them to do is a bad idea.
history:
Napoleon wanted to take the puppies and teach them himself, how to act, what to learn, and which aspects of the animal farm were right or wrong in his vision. He wanted someone powerful and obedient at his side. No questions about his orders. Napoleon was really concerned that he would someday lose his leadership to Snowball, that was someone that everyone seemed to listen, sometimes leaving him asside, and he thought that somehow mentoring the puppies would help him to develop his ideas and to start working on a plan to sabotage Snowball and win the leadership over the farm.
So Napoleon started teaching the puppies his ideology as soon as possible, and the puppies learned since they were small that when Napoleon sayd something to them, it’s right and everything else is a lie trying to manipulate them. The puppies grew up being told that Snowball was their main enemy and that he would lead the farm to failure. They were teached to not pardon anyone who supports Snowball. “They’re traitors, they’re going to destroy our beloved farm if we don’t eliminate them. Something bad will happen if we let them” said Napoleon when a puppy asked him about it.
One day, during the lessons about the animal farm, one of the little puppies questioned if there was a reason to Snowball support to Mr.Jones, since he was an animal too. Napoleon didn’t know how to answer the question, and said to the puppy forget that and shut up. The puppy was curious, and asked again. Napoleon got mad and punished him to give an example to everyone. The puppies saw that and realized that not following Napoleon’s orders was a bad idea.
Napoleon knew that the puppies would become dogs, and they could be more powerful than most of the animals in the right conditions. With all the apples and milk, the puppies had food to grow up healthy and strong. Napoleon also forced the puppies to do exercises to get even stronger. After a good time of training and studying the puppies grew up and became dogs.
Napoleon got what he wanted. The little puppies now were powerful dogs and they would follow his orders whenever he wanted, and he now was prepared to put the plan of getting in the power in practice. The dogs were fully prepared for the exact moment, they were ready to attack the enemy of their lives at the right moment.
The plan was successful and now Napoleon became the great leader of their farm. The dogs were really happy for doing the main objective of their lives, and they would stay supporting Napoleon for the rest of their lives, eliminating anything that the enemy left in their beloved farm.

What If? - Ricardo and Antônio
Synopsis:
If Snowball had come back to the farm after Napoleon and pigs became humans, and made the other animals realize what was really happening, what would have been different in the destiny of the farm?
Would they bring down the dictatorial regime of Napoleon? How animals life would change? In the future, what would happen with the farm? Come discover these things in our fanfic about the book Animal Farm.
What if?
Over the months after the pigs become human, pigs let the power go to their heads, when they bothered to reassert their power to continue in lust, they then finally realized that four of the nine dogs disappeared.
Confused, the pigs blamed Mr. Jones for the disappearance of the dogs. Napoleon then, not knowing what happened, decided to protect the farm to find out what was going on, so he used the fear of animals by saying that Mr. Jones had returned to convince them to build a concrete wall around the farm to protect his government.
At this time, it was Snowball who made the dogs disappear, he returned to the farm to bring down Napoleon and the pigs. Unbeknownst to the pigs, Snowball was meeting with the smartest groups of animals to show them the reality of the dictatorial Napoleon regime they lived in to instigate a revolution against Napoleon's government.
Snowball had already convinced the animals to revolt against Napoleon's regime, but everyone was still very afraid of dying in revolution against Napoleon who had weapons and the rest of the dogs. Snowball then made a plan, infiltrate the inside of the wall in order to continue to sabotage Napoleon's “army” to make the new revolution possible.
Napoleon, afraid of what had caused the dogs to disappear, made the farm animals' quality of life even worse to finish building the wall quickly. After the rush made by Napoleon to finish the wall, the animals after a few months managed to finish the concrete wall. Finally, Napoleon thought that he was no longer in danger since during that time nothing more bad happened to him.
After the pigs let their guard down again, Snowball set his plan in motion. He started by getting rid of all the human weapons that the pigs could use against the animals in revolution. After that, he used those same weapons to kill and disappear with the rest of the dogs.
Now with the pigs helpless, the animals led by Snowball started the revolution.
First, Snowball appeared in front of the farm calling Napoleon to confront him and pretended to run away to make Napoleon chase him. When Napoleon came along with the rest of the pigs, he tried to call the dogs, when he realized that none had answered the call, he became suspicious and sent the rest of the pigs to get the weapons to kill Snowball.
When the pigs arrived to get the weapons, the animals had already set up an ambush and trapped all the pigs, making Napoleon wait in front of the farm. Snowball returned then, when Napoleon was alone, returned with a firearm and left Napoleon terrified. Snowball then quickly shoots and kills Napoleon by hanging his head over the farm's entrance and driving out all the pigs captured by the animals.
With the victory of the animals in the revolution, with Snowball in the lead, through a vote the animals decided to return the 7 commandments to the originals and return with the original flag and the music “Beasts of England”. The democratic meetings also returned and in one of them, the animals decided to vote from time to time to decide the leader, naming him the president.
To overthrow the pigs from power, the animals decided that Snowball should become the new president. With Snowball in power, in a few months the animals' quality of life improved a lot because they were no longer forced to work just for who is in power.
The animals now had electrical energy that came from the windmill and in every election Snowball won unanimously. The animals also decided that Snowball should live inside Mr Jones's old house and started telling each other that Snowball is always right. Snowball had made the animals think that way by manipulating them, he used that power to have the biggest and best things all to himself while leaving only enough for the animals. Snowball had become just like Napoleon, but at the behest of the animals, who didn't fill his corruption. He just used the same strategy as Napoleon to become just him in power, just being more smart and less obviously.
Snowball had power all to himself and being a hero no one could stop him, making this situation perpetuate for today. With him in power having a lot and the rest of the animals having little.

Big and Small puppies
Synopsis
What if Napoleon had trained just a few of the dogs and Snowball had trained the rest of them? Our fanfic is going to show how differently the puppies would have been raised considering the objectives of each  pig and how they are going to use them in their favor. This new form of education for the pups is also going to bring a lot of conflicts between them, changing their relationship to what it was before they were separated by the pigs.
Big and small puppies
After Mr Jones left the farm the pigs, especially Napoleon and Snowball, started to lead the farm, but they had different ideas. Snowball wanted the animals to be able to read and write, by teaching them the alphabet, but the animals were not being successful except for the dogs that were able to read the seven commandments. Napoleon, on the other hand, thought that educating the younger animals would be much better than focusing on the education of those who were already grown up.
Napoleon was interested in raising the nine puppies that Jessie and Bluebell had given birth to. However Snowball also wanted to educate the puppies, which triggered a discussion between the pigs:
No, it was my idea so I'm going to be responsible for their education
I don't know…Maybe Snowball should be the one responsible for the education of the puppies, because he was able to teach the alphabet to me and Bluebell. - Said Jessie
I think if the mother is saying I should be the one teaching the little dogs, then we should respect her opinion since she was the one that had the puppies.
At that moment most of the animals were in Snowball's side agreeing that he should raise the young dogs, until Squealer appeared:
I think we should give Napoleon the chance to educate them since Snowball  already had the chance to teach the older animals.
But I was able to educate some of the animals, including the dogs - Said Snowball
What if Napoleon teaches some of the dogs, and Snowball the rest of them? - Asked Jessie.
That's a good idea, but there are nine puppies, how are we going to share them equally between me and Napoleon?
I think it's fair for Napoleon to take five of them because the animals you were able to teach are already grown up - Said Squealer
It was decided that Napoleon would be responsible for the education of five of the puppies and Snowball the other four.
The next day Snowball and Napoleon took the dogs to start their education process. Napoleon took them to a loft which no other animal could have access to, besides him. These five dogs would rarely go out of the loft and had very few contact with the other animals including their parents and siblings. Snowball had a different way of taking care of the puppies. He asked Boxer if he could help him to build a playground area so he could educate the puppies there, next to their parents and other animals.
Both pigs had very different ways of teaching the dogs, Snowball would meet with the dogs in the playground in the morning to start the classes. First he would teach them the alphabet by doing some exercises of speaking, writing and reading. After the morning classes they would have a lunch break at the playground area all together with Snowball. Later they would do a farm tour with Snowball, learning about the other animal´s work and how the system of the farm works. After the tour finished the puppies would get back to their parents and spend the rest of the day with them. As the time passed, Snowball would always propose a different activity in the afternoon, but always focusing on showing the puppies the hard work of the animals to make the farm work.
On the other side, Napoleon wouldn't let the puppies leave the loft that he took them to. In the first day the puppies were all expecting that Napoleon would teach them how to read, write and speak, but that wasn't his plan:
I am very happy that now I will learn how to read and write! - Said one of the puppies
That's not the focus here little dog, you won’t learn how to read and write, you only need to know one specific phrase: ‘’ Napoleon is always right and I will always defend him’’.
But my mom said that…
Don't listen to what your mother said to you, and trust me that what you're gonna be learning with me is much more important that everything your mom told you.
The dogs were a little scared of Napoleon, but he forced them to repeat the phrase until they couldn't take it anymore. Besides that, Napoleon would teach them to defend him and how to use violence to take control of any situation. As the days were passing the puppies were turning into very aggressive and violent dogs that would do anything to protect Napoleon. Napoleon was very strict when it came to food and break times, the dogs would barely rest and only eat one time of the day. Also, if one of the puppies disobeys Napoleon or does something wrong, this puppy would go without food for a day as punishment.
Some months had passed since no one had heard of the puppies that Napoleon was in charge of educating. Their parents were worried about it, and didn't really know what to do, so they asked Snowball if he could help them to find the puppies. Snowball and some of the animals started looking for Napoleon and the other five puppies around the farm. They were not successful with their search, but Squealer realized what was happening and told Napoleon about it.
Because Snowball taught so much about the farm for the four dogs, they knew very well each place of the farm, so they went on a search to find their brothers and Napoleon. They looked all over the farm but they couldn't find no one, so one of the puppies had the brilliant idea of searching in Mr Jones´abandoned farmhouse. They searched in all the parts of the house: in the living room, in the kitchen, in the bathroom etc, until one of the puppies found a door whole in the ceiling with a stair which could lead to a loft. But none of them were able to reach the stairs, so they decided to go back to the farm to ask for help from the other animals. Napoleon and the puppies heard that the other animals had found them, so they decided to lock the whole house to prevent anyone from getting in.
When the animals came back with help, they realized that the door was locked and it wouldn't be possible to get in the house. Jessie and Bluebell started worrying and were begging for Boxer to open the door. Suddenly Boxer, Jessie, Bluebell, the four puppies and some other animals were all hitting and kicking the door, trying to get it open and forcing Napoleon and the five puppies who were inside to get out.
Suddenly Napoleon and the five puppies got out of the house because they realized that they couldn't escape from Mr Jones’ house. So all the animals who were there got really happy, especially Jessie and Bluebell, that they were meeting their puppies after a long time. Jessie and Bluebell tried to get closer to their puppies, but when this happened the puppies instead of being  happy to see their parents again, they started barking and repeating out loud the phrase Napoleon taught them "Napoleon is always right and I will always defend him". Both parents were shocked with that situation, so they decided to ask Napoleon what had happened.
What have you done with my puppies? You transformed them into monsters!
I didn't do anything to them, I just educated them in a way that they can have a bigger purpose in the farm. - Said Napoleon
He only transformed us into better dogs, because he is always right and I will always defend him! - Said one of the five puppies
Jessie and Bluebell couldn't believe what they were hearing and didn't know how to react. The other four puppies that Snowball educated overheard the conversation and decided to defend their parents. At that moment they started a battle between Napoleon and his dogs and Boxer, Jessie, Bluebell, Snowball, the four puppies and the rest of the animals that were there.
Napoleon and his five dogs were much stronger and more violent than the other animals because Napoleon trained them to always use violence to defend themselves so they started attacking all the animals including their parents and siblings. During the battle most of the animals got very scared of Napoleon and his dogs so they ran out from there, resting only Jessie, Bluebell, Snowball and Boxer. Napoleon knew that to win the battle he should kill Boxer because he was the strongest of the animals, so he told three of his dogs to attack Boxer and the others to prevent Snowball and their parents from doing something to ruin Napoleon's plan to lead the farm and the animals.
Napoleon's dogs were stronger and better trained than the other animals, so they were able to kill Boxer, the only animal that could defend the farm and stop Napoleon and his plan. Now, Napoleon and the five dogs had the power of the farm by using violence and forcing the other animals to work for them, otherwise the consequences would be worse for the animals. Since Napoleon was in charge of the farm, the living and work conditions got worse, now the animals had to work more and harder, eat less and almost never sleep.
Napoleon was using the same technique that he used to train the five dogs, with the animals of the farm. Also, he banned Snowball, Jessie and Bluebell from living in the farm and decided to raise the other four puppies to get more power if the animals decide to fight against him again.

How the revolution starts
In a green and large field, far from the cities, lived a group of animals, there were some ducks, chickens, pigs, horses and others. Always in harmony, everyone was in charge of small jobs such as farming and planting. The animals prioritized the plantations a lot for their sustenance and food.
Benjamin was a gray donkey, shy and with a great intelligence. Major was a small pig, and unlike Benjamin he was very extroverted and cheerful, he also had a splendid intelligence.
The two were great friends and, like most animals, were in charge of the crops, cultivating plantacions. As they were very intelligent, they knew a lot about the properties of plants, when they were good for healing and for food.
These jobs in the fields were divided, for the strongest and weakest animals, to balance the work. Nightmare, a black horse, strong, tall and brave, was in charge of the manual work. He was the protector of this community of animals and everyone respected him. As for Nightmare, he greatly admired Benjamim and Major for their intelligence.
Over the years, they got closer and became great friends, Major and Benjamin even helped Nightmare to conquer a mare called Pearl, white, beautiful and strong. Soon the two had a son named Boxer. Since childhood, he was like his parents, tall, strong and hardworking.
Everything was going well, as it always had. Until one day when several doves flew over the field bringing news.
Listen! Listen everyone - a dove spoke - humans are starting to capture the free animals and put them on their farms. Be prepared for war.
Animals went into shock, humans didn't seem to be a threat and never came to those parts. Soon after, an agitation between them began to be initiated.
All animals turn to Nightmare asking what could be done to end this threat, but not even the bravest of animals knew what to do. Then, a distant voice suggests an idea:
A barrier - said Major - Benjamin and I know about the strongest and most resistant trunks and branches and we managed to make a barrier with the resources of the field.
They started to prepare themselves for that threat that was closer every minute. They built the barrier in a week. The strongest animals were in charge of cutting the trunks and doing the manual work, while the others were planning the constructions and protecting the most defenseless animals, the youngest and oldest.
The day after the barrier was finished, a flock of ravens flew over the field. The animals thought it meant they had come to help, but they were wrong, the ravens gave the location of the animals to the humans, so they knew the day came and the war had started. Humans were loud and angry and even the strongest animals were afraid.
They thought that the barrier would stop the humans but it didn't help, the humans with their firearms destroyed it. The moment this happened they attacked everyone. Burning all the crops.
Nightmare was on the front lines of battle, trying to drive humans from their land. It didn't last long before he, the strongest and bravest, was defeated and lassoed. Along with him Pearl had been thrown into one of the carts of the humans. Nightmare then shouted his last request to Benjamin and Major, who were tending to the oldests and youngests on the other side of the war:
Protect Boxer at all costs, please!
Some time has passed, the war is not over. The animals' efforts were in vain. Soon, this will end and the defeat of the animals will set in. Benjamin and Major fought until the end to try to protect the animals they were caring for, and especially Boxer. But that didn't last long. Soon the humans captured all the animals left in the field and took them to their carts.
Benjamin, Major and Boxer stayed together, not knowing where Nightmare, Pearl and the other animals had gone.
The journey took days before they arrived at a farm that was neither too big or too small called Manor Farm. This was nothing like their old life.
The three were left in the barn and found other animals from the Manor farm, there were some ducks, horses, sheep, etc.
The human approached and walked to the center of the barn:
I'm Mr. Jones, I own you and you work for me from now on, in case it wasn't clear what I said, the other animals can help you, your place to sleep is here.
As it was already night, the three were tired from the trip and they fell asleep soon after, without talking and looking straight at the faces of the other animals.
When the animals woke up the next day, a restlessness took over the barn, with the new residents, no one dared to speak a word. Until Major spoke.
Farm animals: have you always lived here? Were they always required to do these jobs for humans?
Yes- a horse responded
Major and Benjamin were stunned and told the animals about their lives in the field, how free they were and how they were not subjected to doing such work for humans. They were intrigued by Benjamin and Major's life story and paid close attention to their speech.
Throughout the day the manual labor began. It was hours and hours under the sun and on top of that they were being whipped. Major and Benjamin's indignation grew bigger and bigger, seeing what the animals were going through. Mr. Jones seemed satisfied with everything with his wife. It was always a lot of happiness in their house, lots of parties and full of people. The animals didn't like that at all. But what could they do?
Night was coming and everyone went back to the barn, they were tired, hurt. Benjamin and Major, seeing that, were stunned. That life was terrible, the animals couldn't do anything, just work and work until they died.
The end point for their indignation was when Mr. Jones whipped Boxer, a helpless baby horse. When that happened, Benjamin, who was next to Boxer, didn't think twice, kicked Mr. Jones. He, in turn, got very angry and gave Benjamin several lashes. But this showed all the rest of the animals that they had a chance against the humans, that together they were strong and could make a difference.
Major and Benjamin, with all this irritation and with their intelligence, thought of plans to stop this dictatorship and defend democracy.
Major went to the center of the barn and gathered all the animals to hear his speech, Benjamin had helped him in this speech, but he did not stay with him, as he was ashamed. His speech was based on his indignation and how animals could not submit to the mistreatment of humans. He said that a new age would be established, but that it would take time to be perfect. The animals agreed and cheered his speech.
A long time has passed, several seasons, several years. Animals were dying of old age and new ones were born. Major, now known as Old Major, along with his partner Benjamin finally had a plan for the animal rebellion to happen. Boxer grew up to be the strongest animal on the farm, just like his parents once were, even if he doesn't quite remember them. He was always by Benjamin and Old Major's side.
Old Major then gathers all the farm animals again for the last time, for his final speech, as he knew he would die soon. Benjamin, even sad, trusted that what he said would work and a new era would be established.

My first diary
Manuela Zanni and André Pimentel
What if Bluebells, Jessie and Napoleon never had been in the Animal Farm?
Jessie and Bluebells were two dogs who used to live happily in their house, in the south of the United States. Your owner, Mrs Beth loved them very much, and gave them everything they wanted: a good place to live, good food, kindness, but not the only thing they most wanted: freedom. Dissatisfied, the dogs ran away to live by themselves, with no humans to bother them, when they ended up meeting two pigs: Napoleon and Snowball, that were in the same situation as them. Together they end up in the night without a place to sleep, and get in a play in a theater, where they stay wonderstruck with all that beautiful performance. Then they realize something, that would change their lives forever.
DAY 7/08/1916
Hi diary, my name is Bluebells and I am a dog, but not a normal dog, as you can see I can write and read, but this is not the main point. I just arrive in a farm, and to be honest I don’t know what I’m doing here, I was supposed to be an actor, I was on my way to this…But it was not always like this, let me contextualize this story for you
Many years ago I used to live in a simple house in the South of the United States. With me I had Jessie, who is also a dog and it’s with me since then. We had an owner: Mrs Beth. I would be unfair if I said that she didn't treat us well, of course she did. We had food anytime we wanted, a good place to sleep, pampering all the time, and anyone who saw this would envy my life. But there was one thing, and the most important one, missing. Me and my friend Jessie didn't have freedom. When we left it was always on a leash, which makes it very difficult to breathe, I got to say.
So, in conclusion, we decided to run away. It was difficult to keep in this life, it was not what I wanted, so we escaped. I don’t know how Mrs Beth is now, it has been 6 months since we ran away, but she is probably now with other dogs and cats to pamper and play with her, as we were used to.
When we were running out of the house and the wind was hitting my face I felt what I wanted to feel a long time ago. I can’t explain, but it was freedom, and the world was opening for me. At the time I wasn’t sure if that was the best decision for me, but now I know the answer for that.
After some time walking without any direction or idea where to go, I thought that the best thing to do at that moment was to stop and go to sleep somewhere. It had been a long and tough day for both of us, emotionally and physically. We decided to sleep in a park near there, because sleeping in the grass is way better than in the middle of the street.
The next day, I woke up with something smelling and sniffing in my face, which really scared me. I opened my eyes confused and when I woke up I came across two big and ugly pigs. How on Earth would I imagine that two pigs would be walking around a big city, that I don’t even know the name of, and smelling other animals' faces? At the exact moment I thought what was going on, I yelled to Jessie, who woke up even more scared than me. After 2 minutes of just us staring at those two pigs we created courage to ask: “Who are you?” Then they said they were walking around and thought we were dead, so they went to check on us. After he said that I realized that they seemed like good pigs, and were harmless. I introduced myself and Jessie, and said we were aimless and that we were in search of a good life. ( Actually I didn’t know what this good life was, but I knew that if I found it I would recognise it ).
The pigs, whose names were Napoleon and Snowball, introduced themselves and said that they were in the same  situation as us, which made me feel better, I got to say. We weren’t alone in this adventure. One thing that really impacted me and made me remember until nowadays is that their dream was to be a big leader, Napoleon and Snowball. I don’t know if together, but this was what both wanted.
Well, let’s go a little ahead, or I will never finish writing, and my paws are already hurting but let’s go. - After some time of the 4 of us talking we decided to stay together, so we could support ourselves in this dangerous world. But one important topic, we were starving, and neither of us had what to eat. But Napoleon was a little naughty and had the idea to steal. Steal from an old lady who was eating a hamburger. Of course I stayed with a little pity, but first: Hamburgers are my favorite food ( Mrs Beth used to give the rest of yours to us ), and second, we were so hungry that we could eat anything we saw. To distract the lady, Snowball pretended he was hurt, and started to cry in front of her. She saw it and put her hamburger on a bench to help the “poor pig”. Then, Napoleon got the food, Snowball got up from his acting and we ran away. Since then, I saw that they were very smart, and a little rascal when they wanted to.
Passing up 3 days of just sleeping in parks and feeding with this kind of stealing, I was over. I kept overthinking if it was a good idea to escape from Mrs Beth house, but Jessie used to convince me all the time that it was not a mistake. We were on our own starting to be a group, us 4, and it was very fun to be wandering around the city with them, they were really very funny. But there was one day that would change my life forever. It was raining cats and dogs, and we needed to find a place to stay at night. A place was opening and there was no security around so we got in. The place looked very fancy, with a good illumination and great pillars. We were kind of afraid of what could possibly happen, but we started hearing music and conversations, and the way Napoleon was curious, he decided to go in, and we followed him.
After entering, my eyes started shining a lot. I had never seen such a beautiful thing in my entire life. I asked Jessie, who had more knowledge than me about human life, and she said it was a theater, where there were actors, music and a lot of expression. I stayed amazed, and wanted to stay until the end of the performance. The scenes, the interpretations, all the music, everything. I think I finally had found that feeling that I was looking for: the feeling of happiness with contemplation and freedom. That gave me a huge freedom. I told myself that I would be in that stage one day, even if for once. My friends, seeing that the storm was over, wanted to get out, but I just couldn’t. It was even a little strange what I was feeling, but it gave me a comfort that I didn't have a long time ago.
So, before we left, I went to the director's office and knocked on the door. He didn’t seem very interested in what I was saying, but I wanted to know if I could participate in one of his performances. He asked me if I was already an actor, and I said no. This made me give up, but seconds before he closed the door I asked if I trained a lot, I could do a test on him in one week, to see if I had potential. He agreed, but probably just because he knew I wouldn't give up that easily.
This whole week I went to see theater performances, but just me. And on by on I was staying better at interpreting characters, even imitating Jessie’s personality, which made her very angry.
After this week I went to do the test, and I did a great job.The director said that he was shocked how a pig could act that way as I was doing, and I said: “ neether I know, sir”. Then he said something that made my heart jump: I could participate in one presentation in 3 days, it was simple and small, but a good chance to make me grow. That made me really happy, and after I knew about this I ran to tell Jessie, Napoleon and Snowball. But when I got to the park where we were staying, I was in shock: Napoleon got into a fight with a lot of dogs in the region, who were looking for him, and that we needed to get out of there immediately. I wasn’t getting exactly what was going to happen, but I said I couldn’t go because I had been accepted to perform and this could maybe in the future be something bigger, but they didn't care. They say that they were leaving, with or without me.
I think this was the saddest day of my life. Finally I had found my “freedom”, but I couldn’t stay alone in that city, I needed my friends, so I decided to leave with them. We had no direction, and I was feeling more lonely and lost than ever, when efter 2 days walking we got to a farm. With other animals, we decided to go in. Here is where I am now: Animal Farm. But there is one thing that I forgot to mention: here we cannot escape. After coming in, a man called Mr Jones “arrested us”, and now we are part of this Animal Farm. The only thing that we were looking for we lost, and got back to the same point, but worse.
Sorry… I needed to blurt out this with someone, and I know that you, diary, are not gonna tell anyone I suppose. Napoleon and Snowball became the leader of all the animals, and they seem to like it here. And Jessie is like me, but at least we had each other. I’ll keep writing here, I like it. Well, now I have to sleep, tomorrow is a long day again, bye bye.

The revolution of the revolution
How did I get into this? How me, of all animals was standing there, looking at all my friends and comrades being violently murdered in front of my eyes and doing absolutely nothing? I needed to change this, and fast, before they got to hurt anyone else in that place.
It was a sunny morning when Snowball was expelled from Animal Farm. At that moment, Napoleon was still a reliable source for me, Benjamin. I believed that Snowball was the enemy and deserved to be punished, and nothing was worse than being thrown into the outer world. Indeed Napoleon's ideas were convincing, he was very good at fooling animals, so much that I got fooled as well. But as he got more and more influential, he started to become greedy, and then I realized that he was plotting something behind our backs for a long time, and to solve this, I had to plan something behind his back.
A few months passed by, and, in the meantime, Napoleon became more and more abusive. He started to get above others, using his status to get the advantage of
the animals and walk pass the rules, subtly changing them to his liking. But one day, the unimaginable occurred: He made a massacre, killing a ton of my  friends in front of my eyes. Any fool could understand that those reasons weren't enough to kill someone, and I realized that they weren't even real, because it wasn't Snowball who destroyed the windmill, it was the storm, and the other reasons were completely nonsense, and foolish. So I decided to change things with my own power.
I started gathering small and ´´irrelevant´´ animals, who wouldn't call Napoleon´s attention, and show them what was happening in front of their eyes. They were hard to convince, but at some point, they realized what was happening behind their backs, and got very angry. The problem was that we were in a small number, and had no power, so my goal, a new revolution,  was very far from being reached. Another thing that bothered me a lot was that I couldn't trust my best friend for this, because Boxer was completely blinded by Napoleon, and was one of his
most enthusiastic supporters, which somehow made me become his enemy in this situation, and I did not like it.
So I tried hard to make him realize what was happening. I listed everything that had changed since Napoleon took charge of the farm, and mentioned the dogs attempting to hurt him on the day of the massacre. But nothing really worked, until Squealer came to them trying to change history. The change of the roles in the battle pissed Boxer off, and he couldn´t stop rambling about it for weeks. That gave me space to persuade him to join me in my idea, and that was exactly what he did.
With Boxer by my side everything started to fit. He had a lot of influence with the animals, so it was a lot easier to recruit them to our common objective. I found a cave very well hidden in the corners of the farm, and that was where the meetings occurred weekly. In these meetings, after everyone was fully convinced about what were Napoleon's real intentions, we started planning poison and life threatening ideas to expel Napoleon and reinstate peace and equality.
Soon we were working on it, putting traps and poison everywhere near the pig, but soon, he discovered some of the food poisoning, so his food started to be tested beforehand, which made things pretty more difficult. We managed to make explosions, but nothing that made more than some scratches to the pig. So we had to come up with a new strategy.
One day I was immersed in my own thoughts when I overheard someone else's conversation, mentioning a crescent rebellion that was making all these attempts to hurt Napoleon. And then I realized that to make this bigger, we had to let all animals know what we were doing, to finally start a proper rebellion and plot with everyone for our rights to be accomplished again.
I could not have imagined how hard it was to convince the others what was happening, because it was pretty obvious, but everyone seemed to ignore and be oblivious about all that. The only hope was that we already had a fair quantity of helpers, and little by little we were gaining others' confidence. Finally we got to reunite in one place, all animals except the pigs, and debate. Somehow it worked, and by the end of the day they were all helping each other and plotting with us as well. The only step left was the actual revolution.
It happened early in the morning, all the animals that were helping us were positioned around Napoleon's house. We used explosions to freak the dogs out and expel them out of the farm. Those explosions were used to wake the pigs up as well, who were threatened and scared out of the property as well. Napoleon didn't go outside, trusting his bodyguards to do his job, but we invaded and exploded everything in that place, screaming to Napoleon, telling him all the truth and forcefully dragging him out of our farm.
Now we could finally establish the long-lost democracy, and live the happy ending everyone was expecting.

The Rise of Nothing
Lucas Furquim and Pedro Assumpção, 9°E.
Synopsis:
What if Snowball had gotten into power instead of Napoleon? What would have happened? Our fanfic talks about a hypothetical situation, in which the biggest enemy of the farm becomes the winner of the battle and starts running the animals. In our story, Snowball gets into leadership and tries to expand the revolution throughout the other farms. Would the revolution have worked? Would the animals struggle? The adventure begins.
Story:
Frequent disagreements between Napoleon and Snowball made the farm divided. The conflicts started to become much more frequent and much worse than usual. The animals were scared of the future of animal farm and worried about how the conflict between Napoleon and Snowball would end.
After Snowball contributed heavily to ending the war, the animals decided to elect Snowball as their leader. He was smart and a good speaker and they thought that he would represent and take care of the animals. Snowball always wanted to implement equality on the farm but didn't know how.
After thinking a little bit, Snowball had the idea of implementing equality on the farms around first, that is because animal farm depends economically on the other farms, mainly on food, since the climate on the animal farm is not good for planting on a large scale and even harder on the winters. There was one farm, in particular, that was the most important for Snowball to convince to join him, due to the perfect climate in the area the farm had the highest food production of all farms, having the highest quality food, that was Mr. Pilkington’s farm, but as it was the farthest farm it would be the last.
Snowball, Boxer, and Mollie went to Mr. Braunstein’s farm, the nearest farm. When they arrived there, they went to convince the leader of the animals on that farm, Mr. Braunstein, a very intelligent and very friendly dog who received them very well. Snowball talked to him about his new egalitarian system and Mr. Braunstein agreed to join, so the process started again, but on another farm. As Mr. Braunstein's farm was very close to the others, he ordered the horses from his farm to carry the message to the farms of Mr. Heisen and Mr. Nakata's Farm.
A while later the farms of Mr. Heisen and Mr. Nakata joined the new system proposed by Snowball, things were going very well, all the animals were happy and had good food in equal amounts. However, things started to go wrong when Mr. Pilkington, a very smart cat who ran the Pilkington farm, refused to participate in the new Snowball system. Pilkington didn't like Snowball's idea at all, he abhorred the way of production, he still would insist on the old and good system based on the merit of animals. So, to make their system obsolete, he cut off all the economic relationships. They also didn’t understand how animals didn’t work and received food, he usually called them Bums.
In this way, the animals at the animal farm, concerned about the situation, decided in a meeting to return to the old system, as they realized that they would not survive without the Pilkington farm.
