Midtest EL
Hello everyone. Nice to meet you guysss…. I’m Faris from 11S. Sorry for the latepost guys… Today, I’ll explain about midtest EL.
On Friday, higher secondary students have a midtest. The first midtest is English Languange (EL). The midtest is about Rhetorical Devices, Rhetorical Appeals and Speech. Before I begin the midtest, I prepare the materials. I do the midtest in SEN Classical Room (As 205).
At 7.40 AM, I begin the midtest. I fill the biodata in answer sheet before I fill the multiple choices. After that, I fill the multiple choices with 2B pencil. I fill the multiple choices better. Then, I fill the second and third part on the essay paper using black pen. I really frustated with the third part because i must make 2 speechs (if I not mistaken) minimum 350 words and 200 words. I must count how many words and 2 speeches according to the structure. It wasted 50-60 minutes. Also I fill the bonus part (part 4) but I didn’t finish it because the test is ended at 9.50 AM. I only fill the bonus part only half from done.
That’s my blog for today and I hope it will be the last blog until midtest. I hope my EL Midtest will above KKM. Amin. Thanks for today and see you again guys. Byebye.

English Journal 6-7 October 2015
6 October 2015: Hello everyone, I’m Faris from 11S. How’s your day? You’re fine? I’m fine too. Today I’m gonna tell you about the activities in English Class.
Today, my group (Me, Gibby, Nadya G, Melvin, Rafy and Raihan) will presentated our poster about the dangerous of smoking. We explain the dangerous of smoking. We also explain about the rhetorical devices and appeals that we use.
7 October 2015: Today is the last day 11S learn English. We have midtest reinforcement with Ms. Fajri. We learn about Persuasive Writing and Rhetorical Devices. Ms. Fajri then give us handout about Rhetorical Devices.
English Midtest will be held on Friday, 9 October 2015. Ms. Fajri hope we can do the midtest. After reinforcement ends, we went to MPH to have pray Dzuhur.
That’s my journal for today. After midtest, I make a journal, but this time I make VLOG (video blog). I hope you really enjoy it. See you again guys. Byebye~

29 September 2015: Hello everyone. I’m Faris from 11S. Today I’m gonna tell you about my activites in English Class. Today, the activities is to make poster using 1 rhetorical devices and 1 rhetorical appeals. But Ms. Fajri explains about the rhetorical appeals and their examples. Rhetorical Appeals is writers of text use various strategies to get audience attention. Rhetorical Appeals divided into 3 types, which is Logos, Pathos and Ethos. 1. Logos–> Logical–> provide with felt, evidence and statistic Ex: More than one hundred peer-reviewed studies have been conducted over the past decade, and none of them suggests that this is an effective treatment for hair loss 2. Pathos–> emotion–> happy, emphaty, sad, anger, etc Ex: If we don’t move soon, we’re all going to die! Can’t you see how dangerous it would be to stay? 3. Ethos–> credibility–> model = advertisement Ex: s a doctor, I am qualified to tell you that this course of treatment will likely generate the best results Then, I discuss with my group to make the draft of our poster. 30 September 2015: On the next day, our group make our poster. I got the coloring part on our poster with Nadya, Melvin and Rafy. But Raihan didn’t come because he goes to Bali with Sasqia in the event Schullar Camp. I am taking turns to have coloring part. Than, I got the coloring turns. I colored it rainbow to make it colorful. But, our group didn’t finish our poster, so we continue it this week. That’s my journal for today. Hello everyone. I’m Faris from 11S. Today I’m gonna tell you about my activites in English Class. Today, the activities is to make display about Rhetorical Devices. But before we make the display, Ms. Fajri explain about Rhetorical Devices and their types. I don’t understand about Rhetorical Types. So, I didn’t join my group (Gibby, Rafy and Raihan; Melvin still have comserv in MPH) and Ms. Fajri explains me about Rhetorical Devices. My group got Rhetorical Device: Comparison, Litotes and Hyperbole. So Ms. Fajri explains me about them. Comparison divided into 5: 1. Metaphor: a figure of speech that didn’t use “as” or “like”. 2. Simile: a figure of speech that use “as” or “like”. 3. Synecdoche: a part of something used to refer to the whole 4. Metonymy: a word that is used to stand for another word 5. Personification: a figure of speech in which a thing, an idea or an animal is given human attributies Litotes is when you say something good, you use the negative words to show it is positive and Hyperbole is the use of exaggeration as rhetorical device. After Ms. Fajri explain them, I go to my group. After that, I pray Dzuhur in 3rd floor corridor because MPH is still use because Edu Day. That’s my journal for today. English Journal 22-09-2015
Hello everyone. I’m Faris from 11S. Today I’m gonna tell you about my activites in English Class. Today, I watched the speech who performed by Rafsya, Melvin, Haekal, Acha and Nabila. Their performance was great. After that, I have a retest because my formative score was below KKM. Before I do retest, I really don’t understand about Personal Voice, Rhetorical Question, Simile, Metaphor, Hyperbole, Compound and Complex Sentences. I could not understand the definition of Metaphor and Simile. Ms. Fajri explains it after excul. Then, I write the examples of them. After that, I do the retest. The retest are make examples of Personal Voice, Rhetorical Question, Simile, Metaphor, Hyperbole, Compound and Complex Sentences also make draft speech based on the problems (Student must complete community service hours to graduate High School, especially Madania). After that, I go to MPH to have pray dzuhur. After excul, I go to languange staff room (Am.210) to meet Ms. Fajri. Ms. Fajri explains me about the definition of Metaphor and Simile. Metaphor is a figure of speech that didn’t use “as” or “like” but Simile is a figure of speech that use “as” or “like”. She also explains me about the definition of Hyperbole, Compound and Complex Sentences. Hyperbole is a figure of speech that deliberate exaggeration. Compound Sentences is a figure of speech that have a minimum of two verbs, each part of the sentence can stand on its own. Complex Sentences is a figure of speech that have a minimum of two verbs, but the part of sentence which has one of those verbs, but cannot stand on its own. After that, I go home. English Journal 16-09-2015
Hello everyone. I’m Faris from 11S. Today, I’m gonna tell you about my activities in English Class. How preparation of English Formative? Have you study the materials? Because today is Formative 1 English in my English Class. I study the materials from home and in English Class before I start to have Formative 1 English. I prepare it well. After that, I started the Formative 1 English. I fill my full name, date, subjects, class and signature using pencil on the answer paper. After that, I read the questions on first part (Multiple Choices) and fill the answer using pencil. Then, I fill the second, third and last part using black pen on the essay paper. (Second: Matching answers, Third: Make sentences using ‘will’ and Last: Make draft of speech based on the topics). And as usual, NO CORRECTION PEN and I have to make a line if I make some mistake. I fill it on the essay paper. On 12.00 PM, I collect it to Ms. Fajri then I go to MPH to have pray Dzuhur. That’s my journal for today and I hope you really like my journal. Hello everyone. I’m Faris from 11S. Today, I’m gonna tell you my activities in English Class. Today, I’m performing speech in English Class. I’m performing speech about School Food vs. Home Food. Which means, I’m explaining the importance of home food and losses buying food from school. I’m performing speech after Raihan. Ms. Fajri calls me to perform speech. Firstly, I am shy to perform it but my friends supporting me. I open my speech using the introduction. I sometimes see my speech but I’m trying to not see my speech and keep focus performing my speech. After that, I explain the body of my speech. I explain the reasons about the importance of bring home food. I also add the facts of the reasons. Then, I explain the conclusion. Then, I close my speech and go to MPH to have pray Dzuhur. Hello everyone. I’m Faris from 11S. Today, I’m gonna tell you about my activities in the English Class. Today, I continue make the script/speech about School Food. But this time, I make the fix one. First, I make the introduction. I use the greeting in the introduction, like “Hello my good classmates” and I explain what I talk to you about School Food. Second, I make the body. I make 3 benefits bring the food from home. The first one is food from school is not nutricious. The second one is the food healthiness is long guarented. And the last one is you won’t easily sick. Then, I take my handphone to find the facts and explaination about my 3 reasons. Last at not least, I make the conclusion. I use my own conclusion, like “In my opinion, I choose bring food from home.”. After that, I collect it to Ms. Fajri. After I collect it, I go to MPH to have pray Dzuhur. Hello everyone. I’m Faris from 11S. Today, I’m gonna tell you about my activities in the English Class. Today, I learn about Persuasive Writing. Before I learn it, I must know about the Language Feature. The Examples about Language Feature are: 1. Use of First and Second Person Pronoun 2. Rhetorical Question 3. Hyperbole 4. Rhyme 5. Alliteration 6. Simile 7. Metaphor 8. Repetition 9. Quotation 10. Pun 11. Use of Numbers/Statistics 12. Simple Sentences 13. Compound Sentences 14. Complex Sentences After that, I learn Persuasive Writing. Persuasive Writing is a form of writing in which the writer uses words to convince the reader that the writer’s opinion is correct in regards to an issue. Ms. Fajri gives us a task to make a script/speech using Persuasive Writing. I really don’t understand how to make it using Persuasive Writing. So, Ms. Fajri explain how to make it using Persuasive Writing to me. After that, I decide the topic of my speech. My topic is School Food. So, I make the draft about the benefit brought food from home and loss buy food at school. I make it using the language features before I make the fix one. English Journal 02-09-2015
Hello everyone. I’m Faris from 11S. Today I’m gonna tell you about my activities in the English Class. Today, Ms. Fajri didn’t enter the English Class. So Mr. Imam replace her. Mr. Imam said, I must continue the worsheet and after that, I must do another worksheet. I continue the last worksheet. Which means, I must ask Zidane (my partner) last 5 questions. Also Zidane asks Biagi the questions and Biagi asks me the questions. I also ask Zidane the questions fill another worksheet (new worksheet). Also Zidane asks Biagi and Biagi asks me the questions and fill the another worksheet (new worksheet). After that, I continued the last worksheet, but this time, I do it number 2, which means I must make a letter for my friends using expression of opinion. Firstly, I don’t know the topic but Biagi suggests I make a letter about learning difficulites. That’s a good idea from Biagi and I choose the topic about learning difficulities. Unfortunately, I didn’t finish the letter, so I continued it on my house. But I collect another worksheet (new worksheet) to Mr. Imam and I go to MPH to have pray Dzuhur. That’s my journal for today. English Journal 01-09-2015
Yeaaaay… It’s September. Hello everyone, I’m Faris from 11S. Today, I’m gonna tell you about my activities in English Class.
Today, I learn about Expressions of Opinions. But, I’m feel depressed because I’m not finish my Chemistry Exercises. I want to do the Chemistry exercises but Ms. Fajri says I must do it at class.
Ms. Fajri also said I must do the group work. I must make the mind map about Expressions of Opinions, agreeing and disagreeing opinions. I choose group 1 for my group work. Which means I join with Mima, Vira, Fikri and Gibby for my group work.
After I do the group work, I do the worksheet. I must find the partner to do the friends questions. I partnered with Biagi and Zidane. I ask question to Zidane, Zidane asks question to Biagi and Biagi asks questions to me. Unfortunately, I only finish the worsheet only half in question number 1. After that I go to the MPH to have pray Dzuhur.

English Journal 26-08-2015
Hello everyone. I’m Faris from 11S. Today I’m gonna tell you about my activities in English Class.
Today, I’m making a card about my wishes in the future. I make it using the color papers and color markers. I make it using hopes and wishes. Then, I make my wishes.
My wishes are: 1. Have my perfect girl to be my wife 2. Have a comfortable place to live 3. Have a job that I wants 4. Have luxury cars
I also write “I wish my dreams come true” and “I hope I can reach my dreams” in my card.
When I make my card, I must take turns to cutting color papers using scissors and write my wishes using color markers because my friends use it. Then I must sharing color markers and scissors to my friends because my friends use it. But I was happy to make my card wishes. I also decorate it.
After I make my card wishes, I collect it to Ms. Fajri. After that, I go to MPH to pray Dzuhur.
