I love this dynamic/byline through Magnus' relationship with Nathan vs. Charles'!

Magnus was in love with Nathan.

He never made a move, he didn't want to ruin the friendship they had. He seemed more interested in Pickles, anyway. Magnus could understand why at least, hell, Snakes 'N Barrels wasn't his type of music but they *had* been big, and Pickles was undeniably talented.

At least Nathan still paid attention to him then.

Magnus was *less* understanding when Nathan brought in their new manager to introduce to everyone - something about the guy didn't sit right with Magnus.

Nothing was wrong with him, he was actually a huge upgrade from their old manager! Strong work ethic, the bands best interest in mind... And the guy knew numbers.

Maybe it was the way Nathan looked at him, puppy eyed and curious, and the way Charles looked at him in turn, stoic, but there was a hint of a gleam in his eye and a smile that threatened to tug at his lip any time he would look at Nathan. Sometimes, they would sit painfully close to each other, and Magnus would catch sneaky fingers toying with the tips of long Raven hair.

When Magnus confronted Nathan about this, he'd simply shrugged and dismissed Magnus.

That wasn't a new thing to do, but it pissed Magnus off, because Nathans shy, averted gaze and lightly flushed cheeks were more than enough of an answer, and it just didn't make sense. What did Offdensen have that he didn't?

Why hadn't he taken his shot?

Something broke inside Magnus the day Charles became their manager, and no one even noticed.
