Because I've seen a lot of confusion in the tags, according to the captions Declan's circle was the Circle of the Wyrm, not worm.

They are going to put Declan’s body into one of the “cages” in the 4th Pharos. His body decomposed rapidly within hours. Including caved in head, and chest, and appears to have been overgrown with that white stuff growing from him. Centered around areas where the powder -or whatever similar substance- must have gotten into him. Vitals dropped and his breathing became difficult, followed by death and very rapid decomposition.
Ps: Murphy’s Ruin sounds like some form or artifact or, well, ruin. Also. The idea that he brought it home is so tragic I fear it’s true.

Liam really does do tragedy due to the loss of deeply rooted connections between people. The sadness of those left over when someone is torn away from them so so well.

Y'all, the world is sleeping on what NASA just pulled off with Voyager 1
The probe has been sending gibberish science data back to Earth, and scientists feared it was just the probe finally dying. You know, after working for 50 GODDAMN YEARS and LEAVING THE GODDAMN SOLAR SYSTEM and STILL CHURNING OUT GODDAMN DATA.
So they analyzed the gibberish and realized that in it was a total readout of EVERYTHING ON THE PROBE. Data, the programming, hardware specs and status, everything. They realized that one of the chips was malfunctioning.
So what do you do when your probe is 22 Billion km away and needs a fix? Why, you just REPROGRAM THAT ENTIRE GODDAMN THING. Told it to avoid the bad chip, store the data elsewhere.
Sent the new code on April 18th. Got a response on April 20th - yeah, it's so far away that it took that long just to transmit.
And the probe is working again.
From a programmer's perspective, that may be the most fucking impressive thing I have ever heard.

Declan’s last circle was, “The Circle of the Worm (or Wyrm?)”. Which. Doomed from the start I must say.
They were looking for and found and were exploring the vault of the usurper, built by the last Oldfairen Emperor, Calinus who usurped Empress Iomedae. Located deep in the ruins of Oldfaire beneath the city, with a path marked in the ruins. This has been their primary mission for many years with many expeditions down there.
The Circle of the Worm hasn’t reported in. Save for one member, Alessandra Gregory, a professor. The Circle of the Crimson Mirrors new assignment is to speak to her, find them. And if not at least figure out what happened to Declan, all they know is he died and the powder and whatever was goring on his face were the same substance. They only know he had come back from his assignment and was tired and worn out and wanted to have a respite with his family -leaving Zorra a note, and seeing Prof Alessandra.

Malcolm: my eyes hurt. I think that fucking powder did something to me.
Edgar: well. Good news. I am not a internist so we’ll have to go to someone in the 4th Pharos.

I was still debating it by second episode, but now I’m 100% positive.
The characters are absolutely based on the main crew of The Wizard of Oz.
Malcolm is the Tin Man (metal arm, family works in munitions).
Edgar is the Scarecrow (tall, spindly, has burns on his body)
Leo is the Lion (cowardly, foppish, literally named after a lion)
Grimoria is Dorothy, a little girl desperately trying to find a home.

Oh shit. Malcolm’s mom knows something is up, and won’t or can’t even protect her own son from whatever it is. Unless he agrees to rejoin the family business. I don’t think she’s just going along with anything either. I think she’s heavily involved.

Candela really asks the valid question of "yeah, you can improv, but can you ACT?" and every fucking episode the answer is "yes" for every person involved.
