If this offends you, good. If it makes you think, "finally, someone with the balls to say it," that's also good.
It's really sad that owning an animal that's been statistically proven to be extremely unpredictable and dangerous has been normalized.
I don't give a fuck if yours "isn't bad" or that you "raised them right." Statistics also show that even well-trained dogs (especially bully breeds) are prone to lashing out for no reason at all, and overall they are responsible for about 70% of dog attacks and fatalities on humans; more than the rest of the top five combined. There's also numerous videos on the Internet showing them going completely out of their way to maul, severely disfigure, or even kill people - for absolutely no reason at all other than "fuck you."
I don't care if you think chihuahuas are worse, because you're wrong. A chihuahua may attack you, but it isn't gonna do any damage. However, a gigantic dog absolutely can and will ruin your life. Chihuahuas are also kind enough to warn you that they're going to attack you, while the vicious murder-beasts that are pitbulls and the like have learned how to give absolutely no warning before they attack.
Here's a bit of common sense for you: If you raise something to be violent, angry, and unpredictable, IT WILL BECOME VIOLENT, ANGRY, AND UNPREDICABLE. THAT IS LITERALLY HOW GENETICS WORK.
I would rather have a tiger or a gorilla living in my house than even a single one of these evil monsters. At least those are intelligent animals that only attack when they're hungry, and not just whenever their stupid pea-sized brains happen to misfire.
You know what's also really sad? How utterly narcissistic people who own these horrible animals are. They will completely and utterly ignore cold, hard, objective facts and call you all sorts of names because it makes their precious velvet hippo look like the monster that it is. I have never seen such an utterly insufferable group of people like them in my life.
And the victim blaming...holy shit, the victim blaming. Even if they see a video blatantly showing that the monster-dog attacked for no reason at all, they'll still rush to its defense and claim that the victim deserved it. Good fucking lord, it makes my blood boil.
