As a sahm/homemaker sometimes I end up doing so much in one day that I almost work myself to death and then I wonder if it’s even worth it. Yet the funny part is I never get it all done anyway so what’s the point why should I care so much

Oh also mouse update: I’ve seen it one time in the kitchen but just for a brief second, no one has spotted it anywhere in the house anymore since the cat got here. So his presence alone made the difference. I still hope he kills it though because that would be good for him lol. Last night was the first night he didn’t sleep in our room, although we kept the door open. We’re probably going to get a kitty door for him so we can keep it closed for more privacy. Pretty sure he was in my husbands grandmas closet most night though but as soon as I got up and he heard me he immediately came to me. So that’s good

But I’m happy about his progress because the shelter gave us both wet food and dry food. He hasn’t eaten his dry food at all which is better anyway because it’s no good. The first day he had a few bites at most, the second day he had almost an entire small can but also extra with the meat and stuff. Now he’s eaten breakfast of only meats etc but because idk what he likes yet I’m going to get a few more cans until I figure it out so he doesn’t lack any nutrients. But he’s definitely a chicken guy, ground chicken not so much so maybe it’s the texture like with the ground beef because he ate the chicken thigh meat and chicken liver. Maybe he just prefers whole pieces.

So since the goal is to transition our cat to a raw diet, I need to figure out what he likes and I think I’ll buy a few more cans today. He seems to like chicken but not beef, at least not ground beef, I might also try pork. So far he likes chicken liver the most. My dog would’ve definitely gobbled down everything I tried to give the cat so far but he’s more picky

Maybe I can get a picture tomorrow of his updated window spot (first picture was in my sister in laws room, which we also still need to update slowly)
Cat update:
Yesterday he really didn’t feel like coming out from under the bed much. He did a little but always went back into hiding.
Today he was a lot better, still hiding but way less.
In the morning I snatched him from under our bed, took his litter box and bowls with me (he will mainly stay in our room for now until he’s comfortable especially during the night).
I offered him food he didn’t take it gave him fresh water and he had some. Chilled with my coffee until my baby woke up he was playing a little, then sat at the window, I pet him and then he went to hide again for like 1h.
I got him again eventually and then he hid in our room (he has hesitancy toward my loud feral toddler), but he kept coming out again and again and again but also went back to hiding many times.
After my baby’s nap my husband helped me rearrange some stuff under our bed and we blocked him from going into the corner in the very back so now it’s more unappealing and he stays out more. He also hid in his grandmas closet when we eventually let him out. After our dinner I got him again and we built him a little shelter at our window which he loves now. He got more and more okay with loud noises, played while all of us were there and even with my baby. We also need to teach her to be more gentle even though she’s really good. Just to make sure there are no accidents.
He ate his canned food they gave us from the shelter and I added some chicken to it (we are slowly transitioning to a raw diet). Then he hung out with us, got a lot of pets. Went back to his window spot and now he’s under our bed but because he can’t go all the way back I don’t mind.
Eventually we’re going to buy something to block his access from all beds for worst case scenario circumstances and also to help him accept the hiding spots we provide for him. He even climbed his cat tree.
The more time passes the better he gets I’m very happy
